But generally it could be argued, especially for new riders, that it's a tad unwise to be 'making decisions' for other road users...
That's why there is absolutely no mention in the Highway Code for things that we all do like 'flashing lights' to mean 'come on' when it should actually mean the opposite 'I'm coming through', one of the ironies of life :-)

There are no laws in London.
The more disturbing fact is that when they walk while red or no crossing at all, they don't even look both ways, they don't even react until his loud ass motorcycle is like two meter away from them. What's wrong with these people? Stupid and selfish they are for sure.
SO your in your main cities they dont do that? Utrecht here in the Netherlands.. omg. I avoid that, hell no.
Green lights for traffic and all pedestrians start walking towards red light. So simple lol
you should come to Lisbon. It would be weird not to cross while its red

I worked in central London for about 5 years, and it's so nice to see that the pedestrians still have no idea how to use pedestrian crossings, read traffic lights, and look between stationary traffic for filtering motorcyclists. Always a pleasure watching your videos RJ, puts a right smile on my face.

I’d love to hear how loud these bikes are in person. The fact that people 30m away still sh*t themselves when he revs is hilarious.
I think a lot of it is also the echo because most of Central London is very narrow

They are loud, I have a SV650 with an aftermarket exhaust and people do crap their pants when i rev bomb them, imagine twice the cc and maybe a removed DB Killer, instant diarrhea.

I've no idea how you manage traversing the London crowds. My nerves would be completely wrecked after a day!
Started watching these, having a good chuckled at the light heartedness of it all with the awkward interactions and apologies, but the more I watched the more I am realising just how bloody terrifying it must be for, not just you, but many road users in central London. Especially with some of the videos with children. Like one split second in a few of those clips would be the difference between a parent & child doing an awkward apology and uneasy jog, and a serious accident that could change/end peoples lives. You handle them astoundingly but a rider can only do so much at the end of the day.

I'm from Cumbria, and get down to London twice a year usually. I can remember the first ever time I went to London noticing a lot of pedestrians have shit road sense/or are oblivious to their surroundings, and how many cross on a green light and also how many cyclists go through red lights. Thoroughly enjoyed it RJ, made me chuckle a few times 🤣

You have the patience I could never have. I know revving is pretty loud and enough to make them realize but I would be shouting obscenities all the time, making them look at the red light. Some of those pedestrians are dangerously stupid.
Loving it 😍 The way you make the bike do the " talking", in a fun way, instead of yelling or using the horn.
Lots of pedestrians in London seem to have a deathwish though, walking the red lights when it is so busy 🤔

Herd mentality is definitely in effect with these dense metropolitan areas. I live in a well-populated but much less dense area in the US and it's very rare to see people crossing against the signal if traffic is even remotely heavy.

the common problem of London pedestrians are carelessness (i.e. watching smartphone while crossing the road at a red traffic light)
It's also because they depend on others to watch out for them, dumb I know
Honestly it seems like the worst places affected is tourist areas, which makes sense and isn't just a London thing. Seeing lots of heads turning the wrong way or ill timed photo-shoots. It's very little things but seems like many people on holiday tend to forget you shouldn't relax in all situations I guess. Especially for those in the vid with kids. Like cross a road as if you were at home doing so, roads don't get less dangerous or 'real' when they are tourist spots

Brilliant vid RJ, thanks for the sharing of emotions whilst riding through London. You have to ask yourself about the sanity of some people to cross roads on green or to showcase their parental skills as they thrust their child in a pushchair into (potential) harm's way.....smh.

I have an idea. Get all the out of work farmers to build rails, fences and gates on all the London (and other big city) pavements. And then give them the power to fine people who cross on red.

So many pedestrians either with a death wish or completely unaware of their surroundings. How on earth are you supposed to apply the new highway Code regarding turning into a sideroad and stopping for pedestrians who 'look as if they are waiting to cross'. Just unworkable in an urban environment. Great video RJ, keep up the good work :)

truly have to have your wits about you at all times. I do not envy big city bike riding or driving for that matter.
0.38. In all fairness there's no regulated pedestrian crossing here, just markings on the road hinting at looking left/right. There should be given where it is, always really busy in a major shopping area - Harrods is just a couple of hundred yards away. Bizarre omission not to have a proper light controlled set up at this point.
Hey RJ how often do you get punctures (riding through London)? I've recently got back on the bike and got a puncture (nail) in my rear tyre and nearly lost it on the motorway...managed to pull over. Thanks!
Most of the pedestrian must be deaf, blind or crazy in London. :D

Phones are making people drones completely oblivious to what's going on around them. Not just pedestrians either the amount of car or van drivers still using phones is crazy.
Smoking kills you but walking a red light kills you faster.
The number of people who don't look left or right (or look the wrong way) while crossing the street is depressing.
Great vid RJ. I would class some of these videos as 'Traffic Light Awareness' training videos, although i feel some of these individuals would never understand.

But instead of stopping and allowing the pedestrians to cross, you let the motorcycle rev several times, drove around the pedestrians and took the pedestrians' right-of-way, as if that were a matter of course and as if one had the right to do so. Anyone who understands the changes to the traffic rules in Great Britain so badly should urgently consider handing in his driving licence.
They can also make zebra striped crosswalks just because its more obvious where people can walk, so maybe then they don't walk everywhere.

And I thought that only in Malaysia (my country) there are people walking like this, it's the same in the UK too. BTW I rode a motorcycle for daily commuting...
pedestrians on the bicycleroad, bicycles on the zebra, waiting on oppesite lane at trafficlight(bicycles) and expecting the oppesite good riders to simply give space ect ect ect.. Thats called the city and i had wheel to wheel bump and elbow to elbow. I even had a girl passing a already passing lady on my side so she knocked of her bicycle and my windshield broken and arm bruised and i was pissed angry and.. Thats the city i avoid, not all that again. They changed the rules in this case for the good, even 25km/h scooters on some parts must go with the cars seen, protect the crazy bicyles.

In Germany, if you wanna turn left or right and there are pedestrians crossing the street you wanna turn into, they have the right of way. I thought the same rule applied in GB but if it were the case, RJ would have many traffic infractions in this video. So how is it in GB? Do pedestrians always yield?
It's the same in the UK now, it changed recently. Our highway code states that vehicles 'should' give way. In places like London, traffic wouldn't be able to move at all if the code said 'must give way'
Love these video's, shows just how much attention people these day pay to the roads when crossing. Gotta say the clip with the young boy on the scooter going towards the road had me panicking, what was his parents thinking. 😡

0:38 . That's the only crossing in London (traffic lights) I've seen with no pedestrian light .
Pedestrians crossing a side street have priority now as they are considered more at risk.If you hit someone you will be deemed at fault.I would adjust my riding style and be a bit more patient.
