I buy a lot of photo storage boxes when they are 1/2 price. And I cover cardboard boxes with Contac paper. I am deconstructing an antique tradle sewing cabinet. The base will become a table. The drawers are for stacki g storage. The lid will be a sign. The non-functional sewing machine will become a decor piece.

I love your idea of using a suitcase for sewing projects since I so rarely need to use mine. I could easily unpack the project onto my bed when packing for a trip. I am waiting for an IKEA delivery today and look forward to creating my craft room. It is an inherutance gift from my parents who were buried 2 months ago today.

@@mombasham tried to put together the 3 tier craft cart tonight. Ugh. One screw short. I counted before opening the bag, so I did not drop it. Setbacks are part of life.
My craft room is a total mess after all the Christmas crafting! To top it all off, in the interim we sold my 96 year old Dad's house and had to get it emptied out, meanwhile he fell an fractured his femur and had to have surgery. Lots of time at the hospital with him. Then some of his furniture ended up at my house. He had a beautiful antique oak desk that is now in my craft room for my computer. I also got the family table and chairs so my kitchen table is in my craft room serving as an island/additional work space? I have way too much stuff in here! I hate to do it but some of this stuff has to go. I have supplies that I have held on to for over 25 years. I am basically down to crochet, cross stitch and now using my Cricut. The cricut had been in the box for 2 years and I am now beginning to use it. So now I am addicted to that. I have a whole wall of Ikea cubes. Yarn was just jammed in. I found some bins on Amazon that fit it perfectly. Purging the yarn stash. Some will go to my granddaughter who has taken up crochet. Going good so far. Still need to plug away at it. Looking for inspiration. This is going to take a while. Yet more stuff of my Dads is going to have to come here. Hopefully temporarily. He had to go long term to a nursing home so I have to get all his stuff out of his room in the memory care unit he was in. I feel I have gone non-stop for the last 6 months. I am getting too old for this! Love all your videos! Did so many pretty ornaments for my tree. Good thing I started them back in May. I do have a few things I may share when I can catch my breathe.
Aw, that's a lot to deal with!! Our family has gone through that too. I inherited my 👵 yarn stash. There was so much. I ended up donating most of it. It was too much and I wasn't using it.
I too have supplies I need to let go, haven't used the stuff in years. I am loving my Cricut!! I want to use it more as well.

Donna, thanks for all the great tips. I have a utensil holder that I’m not happy with so will be decorating tin cans to replace it. One thing I’ve used for storing large items are the cardboard boxes that my glass canning jars come in. I covered a spare one I wasn’t using for jars with some pretty drawer liner and it is holding lotions and soaps etc. on a shelf in my bathroom closet. Could be used in my craft room too. Love the toile and green combo.
Oh ya, those boxes would be so sturdy!! Great idea.

Love all your ideas Donna! One thing I thrift is dishwasher cutlery caddies. I cut cardboard to fit the bottoms of the different spaces. I put writing utensils in, rulers, scissors, embossing tools etc. Quite handy. I've got long ones & square ones. They can stand on a craft table or be hung on the wall by your table. 😊

Your craft room is fabulous !!! I have a small closet I'm working on . We rent and put wire shelves on one side of closet. I've taken away so many ideas from this video .im very excited about covering storage bins that I see at $ tree never picked them up Because they were flimsy. Now I'll give that a try! Thank you ! In a small city just outside San Antonio, there is a cigar store. They sell their boxes. Every shape and size, wood and cardboard. So if there is one by you check and see if they sell theirs. If they don't, let them know they can make more money selling.

If you have cats, the cardboard boxes for litter are VERY sturdy. I cut one of the sides open and cover with contact paper. The strap turns into a nice drawer pull. I've been using mine for drawers, some for nearly 3 years.

I love the way you bring nature inside. Your craft room is amazing. I'm turning a junk room into my craft room...it used to be bedroom then an office...but now it's mine. I am using a bunch of plastic drawers currently (free stuff) but I do have an inherited dresser I can use. I have some other free stuff that I can paint and use. I love the way you find great thrift items. You are amazing!
