7:08 This is the most beautiful knit pattern I ever enjoyed working with! It's simple-it's easy and it looks so lacey! My lovely lady, this THE VERY BEST!....THANK YOU!
Planning to make this for my husband. In a shaded brown yarn. I'm good at crochet but knitting has been a bit daunting but my young friend said that if we try something unfamiliar even if we struggle a bit it's good for the neuron connections in the brain. I'm 70 plus and wish to keep active as long as I'm alive.
Oh i love very word you say!!! Yes definitely try. I love both knitting ans crocheting and both of them are satisfactory in a different way. But they do say that knitting is even better for your brain than crocheting so I say Go Foe Gold Mama!!!! 😘😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello there my dearest sweet lovely lady! I just happened to notice that you made a very beautiful diagonal lace scarf! I just enjoy knitting and this pattern looks very very easy! Not hard-not confusing! I look forward to making this completely beautiful diagonal lace knit scarf! Thank you so much for a very humble way to make this tutorial very easy!! I started to do it with 39 stitches, but there was a discrepancy, and I didn't like that-back to the 33 stitches, I have gotten this scarf figured out, thanks to your video-I will continue working with it! I love this beautiful pattern! Thank you once again for sharing this video!

Hello - you got great eyes. Actually, the way I knit, the Knit Stitch leans back so when I K2TOG in the 3rd row, it looks like I am going through the backloop. But it is the front loop. Depending on how you knit, your Knit Stitch may lean differently and then the K2tog looks like it does in row 1. So hard to describe. I hope it makes some sense.
Hii there. There is actually no difference in how I knit the k2tog in row 1 or row 3. It is the same technique but it looks different since the stitch "lays" different in row 1. Starting Row 3 and every other alternating row, it should look exactly like row 3. • Row 1: P1, K3 (border) YO, K2tog K2 (border), Do NOT knit the last stitch • Row 2: P1, K2 (border) *purl all stitches until last 3*, K2 (border), Do NOT knit the last stitch
@@TastyLittleDumpling at 4:00 you K2tog through front (needle entering on leftmost stitch). At 6:50 when you’re repeating Row 1, you K2tog through back (needle entering on rightmost stitch). Which method do you use for next Row 1 repeat? (And so on)?
She uses the eastern method for her purl stitches. ( I know, threw me off, too) The next row she did the k2tog in the back of the stitch, that evens the stitch from the previous row.

Does it make a difference between the two? Do you think how many CO it will be this adult scarf? Thank you.
Yes it does make a difference in the final look of you use k2tog versus k2tog through back loop. Number of stitches to cast on really depends on how thick your yarn is and how many inches you want it to be. On average scarf’s width is 5-8 inches. Look at your tag and see how many stitches it takes to get to that width.
Thank you for this pretty scarf pattern. I think it might be helpful if you state in the written directions "Slip last stitch" after you say do not knit last stitch. This does make a nice edge. I also noticed that in the first row of pattern you knit 2 together from the front (as in a regular knit stitch), but later you were knitting 2 together from the back. Is there a reason for this? Thanks again.
Thanks for the suggestion on the last stitch “Slip last stitch”. Make absolutely perfect sense. Thanks. It looks like I am knitting 2 together from the back but I am actually not. It is how my stitch lays when I knit my way of continental. The stitch lays towards the back (versus most knitters). I do get that a lot LOL - thanks so much for paying such great attention and for your constructive feedback.
Love this pattern and I'm going to knit one soon. But I'm a little confused so I need your advice. Is this intentional to have certain effects on the look? Just need a confirmation from you before I start work. Thank you
Hello! Sorry for the confusion. I know why @6:50 it looks like I am knitting through the back loop. The way I knit, my Knit Stitch leans backwards. to make it the same as in $4:10, I could have moved the 2 stitches so it leans the other way, and then k2tog so it looks like the first row. I don't know how your stitch lays based on your knitting but I hope it worked out after all. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much. I have the pattern written in my description below. Maybe you can copy the pattern and paste it into a word document and then print it out. Thanks and have fun!
Hi, love the yarn color and the stitch. the finished scarf looks like the hems or the both ends of it are diagonal. right? however when you start explaining how to knit it, you say you knit two row of garter stitch. but these two simple rows of garter stitch will not give the end of the scarf the diagonal edge. can you please explain, thank you
The garter stitch is only 2 rows so it won't change the diagonal line of the scarf. Don't do more rows of garter because of the very season you mention but 2 rows is okay.
How many stitches did you cast on for adult scarf! Beautiful scarf! Im learning new stitches! Thanks so much for the free tutorial! Great instructions!
Thanks love. I usually make my adult scarfs about 6-8 inches wide. Look on the label of your yarn and see how many stitches it would take to get to the desired width. Hope that helps you figure it out.

Hello! I don’t know how thick your yarn is. But one average the width of a women scarf is between 8-10 inches. Look in your yarn’s label and see how many stitches they recommend to get to that width. You may have to do some math depending on how the gauge is listed on the label.
Hello there. Actually, it looks like I am knitting it through the back because of the way my stitches lay. My continental knitting method makes the stitches lay differently and it just looks like that. No, knit the K2tog through the front and NOT the back.
Hi, very lovely scarf! Can u help. For a lady scarf, say I cast on 65sts, do I knit a 4row all knit at the beginning instead of 2? Whatever no of garter stitch rows I knit (eg 4 or. 6 rows ) to prevent it from curling, does the number of side border remain the same? coz yr tutorial is for a very small scarf. Tks much. Hello! I think 4 rows of border or 6 rows is probably more appropriate in size if you cast on 65 stitches for the scarf. It will look more balanced. But 4 rows should be enough if you just want to avoid the curling of the border. Thank you.
Hello there. It depends on how wide you want it and how thick your yarn is. The video shows a medium wide scarf so if you yarn size is similar like the one I am using, try casting on double the amount of stitches. Good luck.
On rows 1, for the k2tog, it looks like you’re knitting in the back of the stitches. It’s a little confusing because I’m not very familiar with the continental method of knitting so I may be wrong.

I'm just a little bit confused. Your scarf looks diagonal all of the way through. It does not look like a straight horizontal bottom. How do I achieve that look?
You're not the only one. If you just keep knitting without increasing or decreasing stitches the number of stitches is going to stay the same and therefore it's just going to be straight. I've made horizontal scarves before and they all start out with three stitches and you add a stitch on each side every other row and therefore it increases until it reaches the width you desire. With this it's just continuing with the same stitches in each row.
Hi sweetie. It depends on thickness of the yarn. But if you use similar type of yarn as me, I would start with double the stitches I do in this video! Have fun
So I've tried this but my 3rd row I end up with 2 left other then 3 I didnt do anything different I even went back and tried it again and ended up with 2 left again
The most common mistake is to lose the Yarn Over. Especially when you knit the English way. I hope you try again and pay extra attention to the YO on the WS.
Hello there! Thanks for visiting. Number of stitches depends on the size of your yarn and the needle size you like to use. Check gauge on your skein or yarn. Usually short scarf is 55 inches long. Medium length would be 72 inches long. And long scarf is usually 80 inches long. Hope that helps! Thanks! 😘
