+marijntuijl the limited edition has an artbook. However, i fear that this book if not pre-ordered is no longer available.
+marijntuijl As much as I agree with you, being procedural in nature, it would take volumes of books, and months and months to find the material to fill it. Really the Game is its own art book, and the people playing it will inundate the web with their discoveries, so there's that. Instead though I would love a more technical art book instead - something showing process and pieces that seed the engine.

I would LOVE the things shown in this video to be made into 'The Art of Making No Man's Sky' book containing the artwork and steps behind the creation of creatures, ships, planets etc. It would be loved by artists (like myself) to be able to view these as No Man's Sky is gorgeous visually!
As an artist I am really excited for this game and how it will probably help me learn drawing landscapes and more complex scenes!

I think they should put in a mission option for people, So it's a choice as to whether to do missions, rather than just wandering around.

excited for no man's sky, tho i have a couple of questions
1. because we can mine the earth, is it possible to reach the core of the planet?? probably take a while, but i would like to know of the possibility
2. what does our character look like? we never see them, so what would we expect when we run into another player?
3. DLCs? updates? excited for those things too

1. There's a limit to how far you can dig, like with bedrock in Minecraft.
2. This hasn't been revealed, and likely won't. You'll have to find another playing in game before you find out.
3. So far they've said no DLC, and instead have said they'll update the game with new features for free, which is again, similar to the way they do it in Minecraft. This is as long as there's a big enough player base to warrant future updates.

what I am very curious to know is No Man's Sky plans to deliver infinite worlds and inhabitants. How do you plan to manage that? Will the game start out with a certain number of places to discover and then you release add-ons ? If so I assume the add-ons will be paid. What would be a general range we would expect to pay for an add-on?

+iRule yes, I just saw an ign video where the dev. played half hour. Really incredible. you can take this game in any direction you choose based on your choices. if they deliver what they hype this will be fantastic.

Ahh Haa! The concept of repeatlessness shows itself in this game. Self similar yet not entirely random, their universe like ours, follows simple rules which make up complex systems. Sci-fi isn't too far off the mark from sci anyway ;)

So sony, why do you allow IGN to just steal this ENTIRE video as if they made it? Did they ask you to make a good video for them for once or did you just give it to them by accident and they went with it.
Obviously, Sony ASKED them to put it in their channel. Why would that be a bad thing? More channels means more views which means more promotion which means more purchases.

the flat earth believers should play this game so they can see that everything works pretty well in a rounded planet. it also gives the sensation that there is a creator.... nothing can be created by itself.... interesting!
