For me the addition of operators/specialists whatever they are called was what ruined it. What was wrong with classes and being able to build my gear around that? I don't need a personality to my soldier, it used to be an empty canvas full of posibilities.
The beauty of Battlefield is the sandbox. And 2042 limited its sandbox by going the specialist/operator route. My favourite example to point to, is that in BF4 you can run a 3 shotgun loadout as an assault, yep, shotgun primary, shotty secondary and the m26 mass as a gadget. You could really be creative with your loadouts, how you played, the sandbox was great. Operators just limits experimentation. Plus, I don’t see the point in changing it from the old class system. It doesn’t improve the battlefield loop at all. And there is a reason games like siege and MOBAs use operators. In Battlefield, it’s less important to know if an operator can wingsuit, then it is to know if they’re an engineer with a rocket. The simplicity of the class system worked great.
How is this a problem? Just pick one option or two for yourself and that is it lo. I love the idea that I can have the same weapon on every class for example.
@@somethingcliched4921 in 2042 you can run a 3 Grenade Launcher Assault instead. One UBGL on most ARs, SPH aka the sticky launcher and Zain's airburst GL. What type of sandbox does the system limit when you literally have more gadgets per soldier?
There's no destruction in 2042! That's what always set battlefield apart for me was being able to blow up the map and strategically use explosives in clever ways. Been playing battlefield one lately and the intensity of having a building crumble around you is so satisfying and something you just don't see anywhere else. Sad to see that gone. Bring back the destructible environments!

Ive been having fun with this game for a couple years now since they fixed the worst parts, it was awful on launch, like literally unplayable, but I can honestly say if you have the patience to get good at it, its pretty fun but a bit generic. Its the little things about it that make me enjoy every game. I still greatly miss bf3/bad company 2, those games were peak bf imo. I think they're trying a little too hard now and falling a little short
Difficulty: It is as difficult as your skill level dictates. Any FPS gamer (gamer, not just "people that play games) will have no struggle with the game's mechanics, controls and so on. Graphics: it can look like a pile of turd for all I care, no gamer cares about graphics that much, though it is nice when it looks nice, it's all about mechanics, fluidity and reliability. If a game doesn't play well then it doesn't matter that it looks like a diamond. PS: WHY is there no frostbite destruction?! I am considering purchasing this on Steam at 80% discount, but I really want a BFBC2 feel. No destruction is sad.:
There is destruction. Even BC2 levels of destruction. Because Arica and Valparaiso have been added into most playlists long time ago, you can play them in 64p CQ, Rush and even some event gamemodes. There is even a Breakthrough version of Arica, but they never added it to rotation for some reason. Also there is Haven, which is built entirely of BC2 assets
No problem with finding games at all. Lobby is always full. I really like BF1 but not many people plays it nowadays. It often throws you in a empty server.
After S1 launched more than 2 years ago, it barely drops below 5k on Steam, but usually hanging around 10k area. Right now it's 30k because of the sale and new event. If you also consider that most people play with crossplay on and Steam is just a fraction of PC player base, it's pretty healthy for 3 year old game that people have been dunking trash on since day 1.
The game is on discount for £3.77 should I buy it I’ve played the other battlefield games but only the campaigns as I didn’t have ps plus until I changed to pc so I have no experience playing it online although I have played enlisted which seems similar to it
Is it as bad as COD? I have a 4070 with i5 14500 and 32ram but I still have stutters on cod but it’s not super bad, so I’d like to know what’s the issue with this one

I always say "graphics don't matter" if a game is good, but in this case how is it possible that the graphics went backwards after BF4, BF1 and 5??

If they added plausible offline with bots, along with custom playlists, I would love to dive back in.

is that harry kane talking in this video?
One thing that I think everyone can agree on is this game has an issue with people being bullet spongy.
How's a 200-400ms ttk "spongy"?
Is it still worth it?
Are there still enough people who play the game?
