- In this video I compare the Alcatel MyFlip (Tracfone) to the Alcatel GoFlip 3 (T-Mobile)
I compare the hardware, physical and software differences in both phones.
I purchased the MyFlip for $10 on sale and is normally $20-$25 retail. The GoFlip 3 retails for $100 on most major carriers.
What makes the GoFlip 3 worth more? The Google integration. Google assistant for queries and dictation, Google Maps for directions and TH-cam for media consumption.

i've had a go flip 3 for 3 days, it's awesome, my laptop is a laptop again, my phone is a phone again. It's cheap, try it!

Ian, is the battery cover easy to remove for the GoFlip instead of extremely difficult to remove on the MyFlip?
I bought the Myflip for my parents since it was cheap and they don't like smartphones, plus they wouldn't know how to use Google or TH-cam anyway.

Do either phones give driving directions while driving? I honestly would love a flip again I can use my other devices with apps on home wifi
They don’t offer spoken directions, only on the app itself. It’s a more basic version of maps unfortunately
Got my kids the Alcatel MyFlip and now we can't figure out how what steps to take to get removed from a group chat. Any ideas?
Just like texting on a smartphone, group MMS does not let you remove people (because there is no actual identifier for the chat nor server that controls the chat). You can only ask the senders to make a new chat with you not in it. Of course, you can block people and all texts from them will not be shown, including messages they send by MMS.

I have the tracfone one, and they offer free downloads for ringtones, but the one I downloaded won't work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Tracfone now uses a MyFlip 2 that’s more like the 3 the size the rounding Gone on the 2 is the camera button and it has an emergency call button on the external screen side. The 2 uses the KaiOS 2.5.4 operating system. It also has the preloaded Google and TH-cam apps. I would like to see what a TH-cam video looks like on these phones. Can you text with the Google assistant? The Tracfone My flip 2 is $19.99 everywhere. Thanks for the review.

@@IansTech I’m thinking of picking one up too. I’m a Tracfone customer and had to upgrade my phone to work with VoLTE. I got the LG Classic flip from the Tracfone website for free with the purchase of a 90 day card. I thought I researched this purchase over the Alcatel My flip 2 pretty thoroughly and reading several comparisons articles between the two. The LG only has a web browser, I can’t connect my email. Atleast with the Alcatel I would have TH-cam app, Google assist, could even get Google mail if I couldn’t connect my current email provider. Also I little nugget I just found out this week. Tracfone was bought by Verizon. Verizon was suppose to take over in the second half of 2021. Verizon plans to keep Tracfone as it is. Verizon has been wanting to make a big splash into the prepaid market and hasn’t been very successful with their Verizon prepaid. .Verizon’s plan is to move all of Tracfones 21 million customers over to the Verizon network slowly. At the time of purchase 13 million was already on Verizon’s network. So only 8 million to move away from at and t and T-Mobile. My LG is on Verizon. My first 18 years with Tracfone has always used AT&T. Hopefully i still get great coverage.

They have their own version called the go flip V but not sure it has the google services built in

One will offer voice to text while the other won’t, if you want a flip phone I’d def go for that as it’ll make it much easier to send texts

Ok so I searched the Kaios store to check before buying, and it doesn't have Discord or Spotify - so I have to ask, would it be possible to use the web version of those services on the phone's internet browser?
I think that given the complexity of the interface of both Spotify and Discord it may be very hard if not practically impossible to use them through the browser.
On mine it says cannot connect, when I go to spotify vis the browser.

strange the alcatel my flip i have looks just like the go flip flip three. only mine has a extra round sos button the back =x a camera button would have been nice

I think the My Flip 2 from Tracfone is identical to the Go Flip 3, not sure though.
The prepaid ones seem to have some features removed. Not sure between these 2 though

I just bought a prepaid my flip 2 from tracfone, it looks just like the one in this video. gone is the camera key but it has more apps like Facebook etc.
how do you power on????
Hold down the button with red on it. It usually is the hang up your call (press it while in a call), go to home screen, (press it when in any menu or application), and power on/off button (hold the button down for around 5 seconds).

Wish I could find a flip phone with a keyboard on the screen. This phone offers dictation to send text but, I will prefer a phone with an easier way to send text messages. Any other phone that ou can recommend. Dictation can e challenging at times for me. I need to send a lot of messages. But I do not want a smartphone. I have two smartphones already. thanks
If you don't mind not having a flip phone, you can still buy Blackberry phones on eBay, Amazon, meant for lots of typing emails, texting, etc. The Classic Q20 is a very good solid model with the OS 10 so you can use touch screen too but also has a track button to scroll etc.

@@shellybuttrum2838 I prefer to send text. I have Coolpad, which is a terrible phone to send text messages. But I do not worry that much since I have two smartphones. But this phone I only use it because it is very small, portable and would not break easily. I want to get another flip phone but there are no other options on the service (Tello)that I have. Unless, I buy one that I can transfer to my current phone service. I used to have an LG, very small phone (smaller than the Alcatel). It was nice with a small keyboard. Wish I could get one of those. But I bought that phone more than 10 years ago.

I've hate my GF3. Totally non intuitive. Battery eater. So much stuff it's REALLY hard to navigate. Maybe for smart phone young'uns but not for me!

They are both CDMA.
