Enjoyed your video on Cerakoting. I know you are just a beginner so to cut down the learning curve, maybe you ought to find a cnc shop and see if they could use some part time help which would give you insight into how parts are machined in the real world. A lot of shops work on Saturday's or have double shifts. You would be amazed at what you could learn in a short amount of time. 90% of the parts I machine I start with dovetail jaws as a for instance. You would be amazed at the holding power.
For numerous reasons that is sadly not an option. I'm going to have to bootstrap this learning. I did however see @adamthemachinist using dovetails on some work recently and was very intrigued by it! I'm well aware that work holding is one of my current weaknesses and actually have some projects coming up that will force me to bolster those skills. For example I made a fixture plate that holds two picatinny rails up to 6" each. I wonder what I might be up to with that? That's kind of like a dovetail holder. So I'm getting closer!
