- The latest Toyota Prius is more than rational transportation. For 2024, it's just about unchanged. I'll show you what they tweaked along with what makes it standout amongst cars like the Kia Niro, Hyundai Elantra/Sonata hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, and its own brethren, the Corolla and Camry Hybrid!

Daaaang. The prius returned from summer vacation looking fine, Yo
I still havent had a chance to test drive one, looks cozy though. Thank you for the vid and rock on!
I own one Limited AWD. It is a great ride and well thought out design. An extremely happy owner.
whats your average MPG?
@@noahlaferriere5515hi I own a 2023 XLE awd and I get 48-50 mpg.
I own a 2023 Limited AWD and absolutely love it. I've owned it now for a year and appreciate more each day.
I went to the dealer expecting to purchase a Le Awd, somehow after magical price increases they wanted $42,000 lol. Walked out with a Corolla le for $20,000 less.
Toyota really needs to step in, it’s the biggest issue with the Prius and it has nothing to do with the Prius!
You were able to buy a Corolla LE for that cheap? Here in Dallas, all the dealers are quoting me $30,000 out the door for a new Toyota Corolla LE gasoline sedan. They refuse to budge on price.
I'm surprised you still bought anything after the dealership already demonstrated they were trying to rip you off.
that's prius LE, $42K is crazy, I guess if you want the Prius prime limited, you will have to pay $100K
Bruce Clough is lying, no one is selling a new Corolla LE for only 22k, it's more expensive
19-inch wheels on a Prius look nice, but functionally they're pointless. They require expensive low-profile tires ($260 apiece at the cheapest), and because there is less sidewall the road bumps are more pronounced. They raise the purchase price of the vehicle and lower the gas mileage (counterproductive for a hybrid).
When I bought mine I actually was able to convince my dealer to let me swap out the 19’s for the base le tires and rims but keep my high trim but since the demand is crazy now good luck with any kind of negotiations. It was definitely the move and drives like a cloud. My snow tires were like 700$ for high quality tires
Still better mpg than a regular car with 19” wheels..
Toyota new cars price are out of this world it’s freaking expensive
Great review ! If you were deciding between the Prius XLE and the Camry Hybrid SE for day to day commutes & errands, which would you go with ? 🎉
Cool looking prius. Ultimate daily car but cars like the Corolla I prefer the design more and has been having a hybrid option so I would get that instead of this but both look great
Thanks
It's pretty for sure. How much did you have to lower the steering wheel to see the whole instrument screen? That is, past what would be the ideal position for you?
I drive with the wheel pretty low so I was in my ideal position here if I remember correctly, I think your height and driving position are big factors too!
That's a very good review.
Toyota's new 5th generation Prius has undergone a major change in appearance, and I think it has become even cooler. It looks like a coupe-style sedan.
Because the front pillars are large, the top of the instrument panel is deeper than the previous model, making it difficult to see the bonnet and the tip of the body. The seating position of the rear seats is low, so it feels a little cramped.
The hybrid system is now in its fifth generation, and I believe it has improved driving force in the practical speed range, making driving easier, and improving fuel efficiency and environmental performance.
Coming from a Mercedes CDI (awesome car btw) I can’t believe how much I’m loving my 23’ LE Prius !
how much MPG you get?
@@noahlaferriere5515 avg 60mpg in summer , now in the fall Im getting 56-57
Never liked the of these, but the all new design is growing on me😂
Same here!
the ugly duckling is now a beautiful swan
I’d buy one today but dealer said the wait is over a year. Why can’t Toyota build more cars?? Plenty of Honda CR-V and Accord hybrids available near me…
My only guess is that they are trying to raise profits by keeping dealers from undercutting each other due to aging inventory. I get why the prime is short on production as the battery is much bigger but it seems like they could be pushing out more standard hybrids:(
Again that's a lie , you walk in and they actually have a list when cars are dropping in you're area mine will be here in two weeks I did all this even without a deposit
@@chrismaronenmust depend on your dealer. Mine couldn't even tell me when a regular prius would be in let alone a prime, and its been most of a year now. I just want to sit in one and see how bad the visibility is, ffs.
No spare; no deal.
You can put a spare in. There are videos on TH-cam for how to. I don’t understand Toyotas reasoning I’m not just putting it but at least if you really love the car it can be done.
Thoughtful design? Body style nice. Toyota is moving to a better integrated molded dash for Corolla in 2025 and Crown already has one. I’ve been driving Prius since 2010 and was disappointed in dash design. As I was going to buy new in 2023. Once I adjust seating I can’t see gauges wo moving steering wheel down. To where it almost touches my thigh. That cannot be safe.
Use the Telescopic feature for the steering wheel. Just push it ahead some, issue vanishes. I can see not only the cluster, I can see the dash area between it and the back of the wheel with ease.
I would very much like for Toyota to make a Prius Cross with the same styling as the Crown Sport but smaller and at a much more reasonable starting price. A Prius with 8 inches of ground clearance would be perfect. Yeah there's the Corolla Cross Hybrid but that thing is ugly and boring.
Pruis or Tesla model 3?
Im not a tesla hater, but id go prius unless we’re talking about a model 3 performance or you don’t care too much about the money factor.
@@Realistick for daily commute n some side hassle gig.
if you want a good compact car for +- $ 30k and with amazing mpg numbers, you make nothing wrong to buy a Prius.
My personal choice for a 30k runabout too! (If you’re not a stickler for a manual trans or something)
@@Realistick yes 👍
sorry, not $30K+, rather $50K+
@@HHRS Ugh 😨
@@HHRSnah. I got my Prime for 40k +tax

They just need to get rid of the hastags. I swear they only added that so ppl wouldn’t want the car
F Toyota for dealer markups
If you know the tactics , you can beat them I did.
@@chrismaronenhow much did you get yours for and what model?
@@aisaacp I got a fully loaded limited 2024
MSRP on Toyota website was 37,000 obviously dealers are always above I payed 42,000 with tax title & licence.
too much noise from tyres ...
I don’t like the new “Fixed Panoramic Roof” trend! That’s a dealbreaker for me because I’ll only buy cars with a sunroof. At least give it a tilt feature! The 3rd Gen Prius had a Panoramic Sunroof that actually tilted & opened.
A good friend of mine is a tech at a Subaru dealership. He said one of the most common warranty issues they deal with on a daily basis are leaking or inoperative sunroofs. I wonder if these fixed glass roofs are a result of this?
My Wie had a 2015 Rav4 that had water leaking down the inside of the windshield. They were never able to fully correct the problem. Luckily, it was a lease.
3 Lexuses in my household and all with moonroof, 2 are parked outside 24/7. Never had a leak anywhere.
Our 2012 Mini gets 7.6 litres/100km and this Prius gets 5.6 litres/100km best case. So that works out to about $16 CDN savings per tank of gas. Prius costs $45K CDN. Yeah, I’m not going to give up my car. Do the math before you buy. Silly to be penny wise but pound foolish.
This car will walk circles around pretty much every other brand. There is literally zero worries with even the minimal amount of care, that’s the real savings
That's all you get with a Mini, really ? Before I retired my company Ram 1500 (not my choice), could get 8.9 liters/100Km on the highway. I'm a gentle driver. Our 24 Prime delivers 80+Km on a charge. In Hybrid Mode the milage is around 60+Mpg. Our Prime cost us under $40,000 and we got $5,000 in rebates after that. Add the $12,000 we got for our 12 year old Prius C and our cost was around $22,000. And, oh, we drove it for three months (over 3,000Km), without filling the tank. We can charge the battery (from dead, which is in fact 80%), for $ 1.75 CAD. Gas here is almost $7.00 a gallon. Lets not forget, if the urge is just too strong, the Prime will go to 100Kph in 6.5. We did our math on our third Prius.
Convert your Prius Gen 2 into a plug-in hybrid and unlock ultimate savings! Best car ever ! 😀

These review folks STAY lying about their height, no way hes 6’3. 6’3 and no mention of how hard it is to get in??
Because im actually 6’3 and a half ;) whether you believe me or not, I will try to take more consideration into how easy it is to hop in and out!
@@Realistick Amazing how nuts people are, isn't it?
I’m 6’2” and found the Prius cramped. The dash seemed to be very forward, the steering wheel was unusually small. Also a lot of crap plastic on the doors and dash, and cheap piano black.
Don't buy this car unless they will hand you more than one key for it. We have waited MONTHS for a second key to our 2023 Prius, and I doubt we will ever get one. If we lose the only key, the vehicle becomes a boat anchor.
Can't just get one on Ebay.? That's what I did for my Lexus.
We finally got a second key, 6 months after buying the car. @@wholeNwon
i heard from my 2023 prius owners friends. I heard from them that Toyota are cutting corners in alot of unseen area. Even tho Toyota is known for reliability, but I think it is going downhills if keep cutting corners.
Ill stick with my 2009 prius thank you best hybrid ever made this one is junk.
Oh really!
2009 is behind trash now.
@@chrismaronen simple reliable and made to last I highly doubt the new one will get 200k trouble free miles.
@infernoking7504 true , but who actually keeps cars 200 plus ➕️ anymore.
@@chrismaronen people who give a crap about there vehicles
