    Just ran into this and just ordered a pair - as an eyeglass user this looks perfect for watchmaking and other household repair tasks. Thanks! Really like this channel.

      they’re good enough and cost effective enough I bought a second pair. They’re good for all sorts of tasks. I also use them when removing splinters from me or others in the house, doing light kit wiring on LEGO, you name it!

    I have a newer version. It was around 23 US from aliexpress. It has mounting points for 1 or 2 lens. That allows me to have magnification beyond the single 3.5 lens on the older model. That makes it great for a wide variety of work, like inspecting coins for stamping errors, as well as SMD soldering.

      Thanks for the update, sounds like an interesting variant.

    I have one of these also Brian. I purchased from Amazon UK, where it is branded as Fancii optics. It is a useful bit of kit.

    Love my 2 OptiVISORS. 3 and 10 power and also have light attachment.
    Funny...I also have been known to walk around the house with visor up 👀
    Always wondered what visor you used. Now I know
    Have a special Labor Day weekend.

    There are versions that accept two lenses, so with a 1.5x *and* a 2.5x, you get 3.75x

      I don’t know, that sounds unnecessarily complicated, haha.

    Thanks for that review. Really helpful. As I wasn’t sure wich way to go.👍
    I have 2 loupes a x3 and a x3 x x5= ×15 but I’m missing the 3rd dimension as it’s only one eye. And I’m also wearing glasses.
    I think I’m gonna pick this one. It should be enough to find the little swan neck screw on my vintage Omega watches. 😎

      it really is enough for almost any task. and for someone with glasses, I highly recommend. the nose piece fits nicely behind your glasses, while the lens stays plenty in front.

    About magnifying glasses - the stronger the magnifier, the closer you have to get with your head, so it´s not really comfortable. 1x is usable, still you have to bend your neck what means pain when you use it longer time or you have to get the item and lighting higher. Stronger magnifying glass force you go with your head to object closer and closer not leaving much space space between object and your head.

      This set is 1-3x. Standard loupe sizes are 4x and 10x, which I also have. Yes neck and back issues are possible, but that comes down to the bench setup. Tall bench, low chair, so you spend more time looking as straight on as possible with only a slight bend.

    Muchas gracias por el vídeo. Tengo una duda, ¿la lente apoya en la frente o solo sobre la nariz?.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  ปีที่แล้ว

      the device has a nose rest and the lens itself is held a little away from your face, so even my eyeglasses can fit between.

    Can the nose pads be adjusted? I have an extremely narrow nose bridge and have to keep the pads on my glasses very close together. I would have to be able to adjust the pads on those in order to wear them.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the nose pads are on a surface that looks like aluminum, and they could be made more wide, narrow or moved forward and backward if needed with a little bending.

    I just bought one for soldering for $17 exact same box but different Amazon page. I can tell you haven't used the light. Because it actually uses 3...not 2 AAA batteries. I put in 2 batteries and it didn't work, then realized there is a battery at the bottom also that I didn't see at first.

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't use the batteries, would make it quite heavy I think. I have other good lighting around the room, so it's just the empty headset for me.

    1x? Why would anyone need a 1x lens?

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 1x magnification power is a 100 percent increase in the magnified object's size, in other words…magnified once. For example, a 1-inch object at 1x would appear to be 2 inches. At 2x power, the same object would appear to be 3 inches. Sometimes 1x is all you need, though I don’t use it much. Usually I use the 2.5 or 3.5
