I bet that is a beast man did you have to get a custom intake to make it all fit? One reason I went with the super 61 was I was told it was the largest you could fit with the stock intake.

so you have to upgrade any engine parts for the turbo? Or can the stock engine handle the power? I have a 84' na 844

You'll love the Super 61, it's a superb turbo and with the right matching components is capable of big power on the 951. I've been running the 61 on my own '86' 951 since 2007. IMHO the 61 is the perfect size for the 2.5 engine, not too much lag which can be dialed out a lot with a high duty cycle anyway although you do need to monitor this for boost spikes. great video.. enjoy your car, they don't come any better.

Thanks for the support man means a lot! If you don’t mind me asking what size injectors are you running in your 951 with the super 61 turbocharger?

@@topflight4235 ah.. back in 2007 with the 61 first installed she was running with 55lb injectors, there were a lot of other mods added at this time, dyno result was 368bhp at the crank. Jump forward to 2015 and another £12k on parts alone was ploughed into her... she now has 80 lb injectors and although not on the dyno yet she is a lot faster, easily 400bhp, perhaps as high as 440bhp. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2015 with many changes to improve power, boost is also increased from 17 to 22 psi. I have been developing this car for over 22 years and she has remained reliable throughout this time...she's a daily driver, very impressive cars..:)

wow, that's a much larger turbo than I expected the super 61 to be. i don't know why but I thought it would be smaller

yeah it's an absolute beast! If you're thinking about upgrading your turbo on your car I would definitely recommend the super 61. I can't wait to get mine back out on the road lol

hmm courious...was told by porsche factory trained tech and shop owner that smaller turbos were better due to they spun up faster...less mass.....any truth to that or that was back in day

Well there is some truth to that. The super 61 is indeed a large turbo but definitely not the largest. I was told that it was a great compromise in terms of size and what you are speaking of which is know as “boost lag”. Although that said depending on how much power you want to make you will have to put up with some boost lag. So yes he is correct in terms of boost lag but it really just depends on what you want to do with the car. Do you want it fast or do you want it quick? Because there is a difference. 👌
