    I removed the dash in my 1983 944 na and resurfaced with Ultra Black Permatex . I had to knock down the high points next to the cracks and use a bondo applicator to work the silicone evenly upon the surface. I let it begin to cure and used a roller to even out the coat. Its been 3 years now no smell of silicone exists and the coat seems to be durable against sun exposure. Trick would be to practice on some contoured object so you can estimate the cure/molding time before you attempt the actual dash.

    Sorry mate that shit happened to u. It's harder to keep old classic stock with LS swap everything around .. I wud always recommend to just remove and keep the old 80s engine electronics and bring the engine software to 21st century. You'll be surprised by how much power it magically made and fuel saves with stock motor and internals with added reliability.

    Did anyone ever dump the timing coils + the out dated engine software on the 944 turbo motors? Upgrade the wastegate actuator to 18psi with standalone ECU , wideband 02 sensors and R8 coil packs. Power will bump up to reliable daily 325hp.

    You'll love the Super 61, it's a superb turbo and with the right matching components is capable of big power on the 951. I've been running the 61 on my own '86' 951 since 2007. IMHO the 61 is the perfect size for the 2.5 engine, not too much lag which can be dialed out a lot with a high duty cycle anyway although you do need to monitor this for boost spikes. great video.. enjoy your car, they don't come any better.

      @@topflight4235 ah.. back in 2007 with the 61 first installed she was running with 55lb injectors, there were a lot of other mods added at this time, dyno result was 368bhp at the crank. Jump forward to 2015 and another £12k on parts alone was ploughed into her... she now has 80 lb injectors and although not on the dyno yet she is a lot faster, easily 400bhp, perhaps as high as 440bhp. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2015 with many changes to improve power, boost is also increased from 17 to 22 psi. • @topflight4235
      @topflight4235 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there is some truth to that. The super 61 is indeed a large turbo but definitely not the largest. I was told that it was a great compromise in terms of size and what you are speaking of which is know as “boost lag”. Although that said depending on how much power you want to make you will have to put up with some boost lag. So yes he is correct in terms of boost lag but it really just depends on what you want to do with the car. Do you want it fast or do you want it quick? Because there is a difference. 👌

    I love the color of the corvette. The steel metal or gunmetal gray! Very sleek and smooth👌😉🤞

      I figured it was Steel City Gray! I heard of that before! I have a ‘78 Silver Anniversary two tone one owner! 48,000 original miles. Every receipt from the 80’s through the 90’s and the ‘00. In incredible condition! I love watching and learning on these You Tube channels!

    Great effort. The Vette will look better than when it left the factory. Nice colour. Awesome restoration. Love these cars, a real classic look. I have a 75 manual and 77 auto. Got them shipped over to Australia.
