    OMG I can smell it already. All I need is salted butter and a bowl of tripe and onions. Finished the Gur cake this afternoon, your recipe is spot on. Thanks again Chris.

      Just saw this now. Sorry! 😄 You can substitute with dry yeast. Just divide the amount of fresh by 3 Rebecca ☘️

    Hi if you don’t have fresh yeast, can you use dried yeast? If you can, how many grams of dried yeast would you recommend ? Love this channel. I’m also from Ireland. 🍀 Thanks Melissa

    Thanks. Excellent tutorial. I hope I can do half as good as you when I try to bake. I remember Turnovers being left on the house windowsill by whoever delivered the bread in Rathmines in the '60s. Used to enjoy picking at the beautiful bread before it was taken in!

    Hi Chris Michael Murphy here originally from Dublin I'm loving your recipes and trying them out. I've just made the turnover bread for the very first time although it's not as good as your one, I don't think it's to bad for a very first time baking. Keep up the great work

    Jayney, I think I’ll have to go to the gym for about two weeks before I make a batch loaf ! You’d have muscles on your muscles with all that kneading ! 😂 . They look so good and were one of my favourites back home. Thanks so much for the recipe, Chris. You need another holiday after that ! Lol 😂 x

      You could try using a foil tin and reshaping it using a scissors and a stapler. I’d say it would do the job ☘️

      Problem is medical. Diet is incredibly restricted. Most self baked items are ok but yeast appears to be one culprit in causing flares. I can have some yeast but just wondering what way to proceed without it? There is one turnover which I buy that works well but it does have yeast.

    • @irishbakerabroad
      @irishbakerabroad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could just be the flour your using. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. If it tastes good that’s what’s important! In relation to the rising of the loaf. Maybe it wasn’t kneaded enough Declan or could it be the shaping. Send me a few pics or video clips on the Facebook page next time if ya can pal 😉👍🏻
