Hi sir I also got two kidney stones on left side and one on right side would you recommend it to me and how much time it will take to dissolve the stone he said my stone is a size of one sugar cube
An 8mm kidney stone, turned out to be a life altering experience. A surgeon put stent on the WRONG kidney, sent me home with NO care to the affected kidney. I was septic with bloody urine then sick for 6 months solid 24-7 because a nearby clinic PA kept me on a non-stop two month regimen of antibiotics, killing off all good bacteria in my gut, setting me up for a C-Diff infection. I was deathly ill 3 times before a university kidney hospital got involved. By all accounts, I should have died. The kidney hospital was horrified. The Dr and clinic that did this to me? Not one shred of accountability. The state medical commission is comprised of drs and nurses which protects the industry, not victims. After that, I'd rather die in a ditch than trust drs.
I had a lithotripsy procedure. It went smoothly and shattered my stone for easy passing. My recovery time was a little longer than I expected and the PT said that was due to my age. I’m a 67 year old lady.
Im already gone second time of this procedure, next week will be my third time, the doctor already put the stenting tube in my urethra, feel not comfortable and kind of hurt..the stone is abaout 3 to 4 mm, inside the kidney....just a bit regret, the 2nd time procedure was in 2019, just a few year the stone come back, but the most regret for me is, the doctor missed one stone, that i have now..this make me have to face third procedure..so sad..hope this is the last procedure in my life, i must drink a lot of water after this..btw, this video help me to understand more about the procedure, thanks..
I can confirm, removal of the stent and days of using the bathroom with a stent in were way worse pain level than the actual stone pain, but it's just part of the process.

This video was extremely educational for me helped prepare me for my procedure. I’m in my 2 day of recovery now and have little pain but some bleeding. Stay away from red bulls that’s for sure.
I had 10mm stone but doctors could not removed it by URSL.... So they broke the stones and told that the stone will pass if I drink four litres of water in a day and they did put a stent. Told me to visit the hospital after 1month to remove the stent and check the stones
Today, I went for a utheralscopy procedure. The procedure was simple; however, I'd like to share my post-procedure experience with the stent, and I chose the self-removal option. The only issue I'm facing is due to the stent. I feel the urgency of pee all the time. I feel, that pee is about to come, and I need to rush even if I just did the pee. Other than when you pee, and it comes out, it gives you an instant sharp pain, not much. I have been told that as time passes, 1 or 2 days, the pain level will reduce. My advice is to drink a lot of water before going to the washroom and then pass the pee; wait for a few minutes because pee still comes in drops, and that's it. Don't spend a long time in the washroom because pee dripping rarely stops. You need to come back in 1 hour or 30 minutes because of the stent. I don't know the stent-pulling experience yet, but I generally read it is a painless experience. I had acute kidney stone pain, so I want to drink a lot of a lot of water from now on.
Is there anybody whose 3 year old child has had this surgery? If so , could you please share your experiences? Because my son is about to go through this soon. Thanks

Just took this procedure 3 days ago. The procedure itself was painless but you will have catheter when you wake up and that is painful when they remove it after 24 hours. You will have blood in your urine in a couple of days and it is painful when you pee, make sure you drink a lot of water to help clear out your urine. Right now, I have a stent inside and doctor told me that it needs to stay there for 3 mos. The stent inside is not that painful, it only hurts when you pee and a cold compress may help you with that.
I have undergo with 2 procedures.. first the shockwave and then this. I have a stent now and will be remove in the next 2 days Wednesday the 24th.. All I can tell you is that I don't wish you have to go through this. Horrible pain peeing, blood on urine, even panic attacks almost daily.. I have never felt this sick in my life and can't wait to get this stent removed.. If I could of choose again between stone and this procedure.. I would of rather pain medication and take herbs and pills to see if i could of brake the stone on my own. But my stone was 1.1 cm to big to pass so I had to go through this and it has been a horrible experience this far.
Damn that is a complex device. Imagine the precisión to guide that wire from the bladder to the uterine tube, then locate the stone/stones. I would be curious how much that procedure cost.
Earlier this year I had 4 stents, a shockwave lithotripsy and 2 separate laser ureteroscopies. The stents didn’t hurt but were most uncomfortable and caused bleeding until they were removed.

@@Selen-w7j Yes, I had the blockage properly/successfully removed in Dec/23 by an experienced urologist. There were several kidney stones along with the large one that I mentioned in my original comment. They were also surgically removed in Dec/23. My last CT scan (Apr/24) indicated 3 new kidney stones. I have another CT scan soon to follow-up on the last scan. Need to see what's going on as having kidney stones is an ongoing issue for me. I have an excellent diet, drink lots of water, don't smoke, etc, and see a urological dietician. Sometimes you can do all the right things and you still end up with kidney stones.
I'm wondering how much they would charge in the US for this, even if insured. In Europe, maybe around 800€ total, the vast majority being reimbursed regardless of your insurance status.
If you're poor it's free, if you're military it's covered, and if you're insured (depends on your insurance), I have pretty good insurance and didn't have to pay anything.
I have my procedure on the 28th and I prepaid, my insurance covered most of it, but even with my pretty good insurance I ended up paying $1,300 out of pocket.

I'm getting mine April 29th this year at Mary Immaculate here in Newport News Virginia a Ureteroscopy with the Holmium Laser under the care of Dr Ani with TPMG. After watching these videos and reading everyone's description of pain, etc makes me wonder if the way the patient is being treated during the procedure is causing the pain post surgery later. I have a Tic Tok video and talk about this exactly. When watching this video, observe how the doctor rushes while shoving the guide wire, etc quickly down the urethra very quickly. I have watched other videos with doctors from India saying to carefully and slowly push the guide wire down the urethra not to damage the urethra lining. You think these doctors that are pushing pretty quickly these quide wires down the urethra would want another doctor to do the same to them, heck no !! I'm not a betting man but after hearing why so many patients are having pain, etc, I'm betting this could be one reason. There doctor is rushing this procedure perhaps to get to another surgery hours later, or insurance time allocated reasons, or this is how he or she was trained. I'm not sure what the reason is but to reduce costs the more time you allocate for the patient that day for surgery reduces future costs on insurance companies if it's done in a way where the doctor doesn't appear to be rushed possibly causing damage to someone's urethra or something similar in nature. In other other words, they say the surgery can be on average from TH-cam research from 45 min to 3 hours at most. Would you want a 45 min procedure after seeing how fast this doctor rushes the guide wire down your urethra possibly causing you major discomfort and pain later. Or, would you want a 2 hour surgery where the surgeon carefully and slowly guides the guide wire down your urethra in which your discomfort and pain is much, much less during recovery after surgery. It's food for thought !! All I know is on April 29th I want Dr Ani to do door number 2 on me so that is exactly what my pain and discomfort is !! You are paying the bill at the end and should get what you pay for, eehh?? Just like anything else in life, right, when it comes to the bill ? The customer is always right, right ? Please don't comment, " Well, I don't want my doctor on his feet for so many hours taking that amount of time causing him to be tired, etc ! If your doctor can't stay on his feet for a certain amount of hours for surgery, he shouldn't be doing this in the 1st place. He needs to clock out and go home and look for another profession. ER doctors do this everyday and know that is what comes with the job. That's why ER doctors, your Urologist, make very good money because of the stress of the job and the hours of work that goes into, including the hours of surgery. I'm blessed to have very good doctors with TPMG thus far!. My GP and Urologist have been excellent so far and I hope they keep staying this way. I hope my long review helped and informed those of my opinion and I hope my procedure is nowhere close to what I've been reading come April 29th,2022 at Mary Immaculate in Newport News, Virginia. Have a great day everyone and hope all of you going through this has or is recovering well !!

I hope you're fine now❤ ! Can't imagine the pain you had to go through!

I had 10mm stone but doctors could not removed it by URSL.... So they broke the stones and told that the stone will pass if I drink four litres of water in a day and they did put a stent. Told me to visit the hospital after 1month to remove the stent and check the stones
Sister, have you been treated by shock wave liptripsy, does this treatment also cause pain?
Good job guys. It will sure reduce the stress of the patient.
Thanks
It wasn’t bad at all i had it this morning just some discomfort from the stent and burning a bit when i pee but it’s not bad at all! Today is my first day home and I’m fine!

Thanks . I am looking forward to getting this done on Tuesday, Dec 3rd 2024

Is safety wire removed after the procedure?
