Personally I disagree. For me they are on par. The only thing that makes childbirth better is the resolve and the oxytocin produced once you see baby. I have had two unmedicated births and I’m currently experiencing a kidney stone. This is just my experience though all people and bodies are so different

I passed a kidney stone a couple of days ago. Interestingly, just before that, I had an ultrasound, and they couldn't find any stones in my kidneys, urethra, or bladder. But two days later, out of nowhere, I passed the stone. It was small, but the relief was incredible, especially after having brown urine beforehand.

Let me give you a tip! I dealt with a kidney stone in September of 2022 and it was the worst pain I ever experienced. Not because it’s unbearable, but because it’s never ending. It’s a constant flow of horrible pain. During the first night of dealing with the stone I suffered greatly. I couldn’t sleep or even sit still without the horrible pain making me worried that I may be possibly dying. I would easy get dizzy and light headed because of how extreme the pain is. Overtime I found a home remedy. Whenever the pain would come back and I could tolerate it no longer, I would step into the shower for about 20 minutes and let the hot water just hit my kidney. By that time my kidney would start numbing and I would no longer feel the pain. When I was good, I would go lay down and try to sleep. When the pain came back and I would wake up in the middle of the night, I would do the same thing. Shower, numb, sleep. Keep doing this over and over and trust me, it will make your experience a lot easier!

Warm bath, Epsom salts bath is great, but you can’t stay there.
Malic acid works. Using the capsules, it is just a couple of hours.
Malic acid in apple cider vinegar is what works. Malic acid gives fruit tartness.
      The stone is softened.
Now …expel it forcefully …that’s done by lying on your side after drinking copious amounts of water. Use a few towels, stay on your side.
If you get up to use the bathroom…stupid will just reposition itself.
It’s not rocket science….stupid stone can’t get out. Copious amounts of water, and force to eject it. Do it while lying down, then stupid stone won’t reposition itself over the tube.
It’s a humbling experience having kidney stones. Worst I ever heard….friend said her daughter in law was 8.5 months pregnant in August and developed kidney stones….

Use a castor oil pack with a heating pad. Lots of YT vids about the preparation.
Try malic acid capsules, from a good source, not big box stores.
Also use canned pineapple, drink the juice as well. Has unique properties that will eliminate inflammation.
It works in a short time, the rough edges eliminated thus, the stone will pass.
Drink copious amounts of water. Lay on your side with a big beach towel. Getting up means the stone will go back to block. You move, the stone moves too.
More water. Be still, expel the stone.

Yesterday I spent 8 hours in the Emergency room and it was due to kidney stones. I have had broken bones, and 4 years ago I had an accident while working and cut off 2 of my fingers. None of these injuries compares to the pain in my abdomen and lower back from these kidney stones. I thought I might have pulled a muscle so I took Tylenol and after 3 days of severe pain and no sleep I went to the ER. Passing the stone isn't great either. It's a horrible experience.

would you consider surgical procedure for a 2mm non obstructive calculus in the lower calyx of the left kidney ?
Personally i feel that a “watch and wait “ is the best approach and drinking lots of water and reducing oxalate intake .
Then in a year have it checked again for size .

Don't wait a year to have it rechecked. If you opt to do the watch and wait, you need to get a strainer to make sure it has passed for certain.

I have a 5mm stone right now went to the ER due to constant need to urinate, given flowmax which works sporadically , been taking it for 5 days. I have passed several but they were all smaller (1-3 mm). Strangely enough for me the smaller the stone the more painful but the larger ones are harder to pass. The smallest stone I passed gave me constant pain for 2 weeks. The 5 mm one I have now is stuck in the bottom of my ureter but hasn't really given me much pain other than the urination problem. Flooding my body with lemon water, 3-4 liters a day. I also make tea with ginger root and take apple cider vinegar and baking soda with water. I am hoping I can force this thing out without surgery. Good luck to anyone experiencing kidney stones passing them. Stay hydrated, and even after it is gone keep drinking a lot of water.

Awesome stuff! As a Kidney Stone Patient atleast (right now a 9.2 mm says hello, since 1 month and 1 and a half months to go until operation :D) I can say this is by far the most straight to the point, accurate video / information out there! Good Job!
The only thing I missed was the ureteral stent use cases and certain complications with it.
My own opinion: it can certainly help when there is a "complete blockage" and the risk of removing it with for example Urethroscopy is to dangerous. But it can also lead to more pain and suffer depending on the blockage and the patients well being. :)

I know the pain bro i had 3mm left kidney and 4 mm right kidney it feels som much pain int he process of moving of stones from kidney to uretha but dont worry everything gonna be alright drink atleast 3 ltr of water every day do medication and syrup ass suggested by doc never skip this things untill its not out and when it moves from kidney to your lower parts pain is unbearable i have gone through so when stone starts moving down you gonnaa feel it at that time drink more water and control ur urine and flush the urine at full force it will help to move slowly if you can drink then beer is best option at this time because you feel tipsy and pain is reduced to 30 to 40 percent and while urinating you gonna feel less pain (it was my experiment to lwer the pain) and at the end it will get out through you urine. You are the not only one whos suffering stay strong soon you will feel ok like i am right now.
      Main things
1.minimum 3 litr water per day
      2.medication by doc
3.dont take everything that peoples suggests
4.hold your urine to some extent and flush it with full force.
5.drink beer if you like (not hard drinks)
Follow this you will see the result. Reply if it helps you or you need extra help

Two weeks ago I was brought to my German hospital with kidney stones. It started on the right side just behind the lowest rip on my back. The feeling was comparable to a flickering muscular cramp. The pain was still somewhat manageable BUT it became worse every minute. It radiated right through to the chest side and went down towards the groin. When I arrived at hospital the pain was excuciating, I felt weak, I was sweating like hell, my clothes were wet, I felt nauseous and started fainting. I could barely stand on my feet and only had one wish: I asked myself if I had suffered enough that I was allowed to pass out happily to save me from that excruciating amount of pain.
I described the mentioned pain development as accurately as possible. I spoke very slowly and quietly because I had severe difficulties expressing my thoughts. The ER-doctor asked if the pain was colicular in nature. My harsh reply was: "What the hell does that mean?! I have never had a colic in my life and have no clue how it feels like!"
Due to the intense pain I was upset .. and I was scared to death. I hope she did not take it offensively. Calmly she explained to me how colicular pain feels like (waves) and I said: "No..... no waves! Just INTENSE pain!" I was put on high dosed intravenous painkillers immediately and the pain went down. Let's say I could handle it easily again.
I am thankful for what she did. And btw: There had not been any waves because a large amount of kidney 'sand' had accumulated right in front of my bladder forming a concrete like blockage. No waves of pain because no big stones had travelled. Due to my tiny anatomy I was unable to pee them out and I had never peed anything out in my life. Du to the amount of build up pressure my kidney had burst (fornix rupture).
Yesterday the bill from the hospital arrived: Nine days in hospital for 90 €. 😉

Out of nowhere my front right abdomen started aching, not too painful but not comfortable. Fast forward an hour and my lower back on the right side felt like it was getting stabbed repeatedly. This pain lasted for almost twenty minutes and had me in tears. Then just a small dull throbbing for 16 hours. The next morning, the intense pain in the lower right back came back and was even more intense. This lasted for about 30 minutes - now back to dull ache. What do I do? Can I go to work? How long will this take to work it’s way out??
