I had a 6 mm stone. I can definitely say it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. I woke up at 3 am on January 2nd, 2020 and it was so awful that I was shaking and vomiting. Then I spent a long morning in the emergency room so they could give me fluids, pain meds, and diagnose the problem. It took two surgeries to get rid of the stone, and was an incredibly emotionally and physically taxing month. Needless to say I've increased my water intake a lot since then because I really want to avoid going through it again.

@H14 Not as much as the doctor recommended lol. I think he told me I should drink like 96 oz a day. Which I've honestly found to not be that realistic for me on a regular basis. I'd say I drink closer to 60 oz a day.

    • @supremeoverlorde2109
      @supremeoverlorde2109 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@veenu thomas Probably depends on the kind of stone you're dealing with and how old you are. In some cases I think doctors will recommend diet changes, and of course, a increase in water intake is helpful. But you'll probably need to talk to your doctor about strategies specific to your situation.

I just passed my first yesterday, and it had started moving only a week prior. I can’t imagine a month of that pain, discomfort, and loss of sleep; I feel for you.
My urologist and I made an ultimatum that I would pass the stone in the next several days or they would fish it out. Luckily, it passed the next day, so I avoided the surgery.

2:26 - stones less than 5 mm in diameter normally get out of body. Doctors will say 2 drink lots of water n maybe take pain killers.
2:43 - stones a little bigger than 5 mm need pain killers 2 relax muscles. Potassium sitrare can dissolve stones for this.
3:00 - mid size stones up to 10 mm need sound waves to crush them with sound waves as one choice and so on.
4:03 - how to avoid? People prone should drink lots of water.
4:23 - foods like potato chips, spinach, rhubarb n beats r high in oxilate. Limit them.
4:33 - foods high in calcium can help by binding 2 oxilate in the digestive tract b4 in can b absorbed n reach kidneys.

My cat actually passed a kidney stone awhile ago, and it was the most horrifying thing I’ve ever witnessed. She was bleeding and running around wailing with horrible pain. I felt so bad for her, and we took her to the vet ASAP. I was afraid she was going to die because of the blood I saw, but the vet said she had passed a stone and I was so relieved that she would be ok. I’m so glad she’s doing better now and I always double check now to make sure her water bowl is extra full. I hope anyone else who is going through that experience themselves makes it out ok ❤️

Humans didn't have kidney stones until very recently. You know why? Because people either didn't eat vegetables or at least didn't eat it raw, ever. It's not going to go away because of some medical advancement but by people understanding things beyond the big-agro-industry propaganda. Vegetables have no significant nutrition, and even when they do, they are not bio-available to humans. Compare nutrition data from vegetables to same amount of meat and milk products and you'll see what I mean.
Also, doctors want more kidney stones so they'll never recommend the proper solution, only the treatments.

YES! I’ve heard of stories of people going through horrible events and they sometimes say “I just wanted to die” and I always thought that was ridiculous. But after my kidney stone I now COMPLETELY understand how someone is capable of waiting death than to suffer intense pain. I now know it is truly possible to be in a situation where death is more preferable to the level of suffering one is going through. The pain is so epically saturating that you lose complete control of your existence and fall the all consuming force that give you no other choice.

I just had one yesterday. It was 1cm and stuck at the bottom of my Ureter, too big to go into my bladder. I've never experienced pain like this before (I've broken many bones and done my ACL). I got surgery today, they put something down my shaft and lazered it into oblivion. Peeing is very sore at the moment. I also have a stent in now because the tract is so enflamed. I need to get that removed next week. Honestly I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It's water only for me now. Seriously the pain, I was screaming in the waiting room. Any questions reply to this.

I’ve got another stone stuck in my ureter nearly 8mm so maybe I’ll have to go through the procedure again

I had sepsis with one, that was the worst (esp since the idiot radiologist missed the stone in my ureter on my initial arrival to teh hosp-and after 3 days of high fever and misery, the urologist was called and he found teh stone on the SAME SCAN...I was pissed...) The on issue is getting enough pain meds, since the US govt is waging a war on acess to proper pain control. One med they commonly forget, but that helps alot, is pyridium-which numbs the urinary tract-great stuff but you have to ask for it sometimes.

I have one too. Dr. Urologist said it was up to me what to do. Didn't tell me anything about pain, or drinking water. Now I am freaking out. Never had a baby, but an epidermal sounds great when the time comes. Last year I had to have my gallbladder removed and they saw the kidney stone on my MRI or CAT scan. Geesh, what will it be next year? Prefrontal Lobotomy time?

    I’ve had 26 of them...well, 26 that I *know* of.
Only two of them had to be removed by a doctor. The first one was hauled out by a stent (the after-effects made the stent feel like a garden hose). They used ultrasound for the other one.
I passed the others naturally. Well, as “naturally” as you can pass a bowling ball through a drinking straw. Some were only slightly more than uncomfortable, while others had me wishing for death.
I’ve had back issues for years (horrible spine), so I’m very used to pain in my lower back. But STONE PAIN is on an entirely different level. Anyone who has had a few of them would probably agree that they cause their own “signature” pain unlike anything else.
