They say that having a kidney stone is the closest a man can come to experiencing the pain of childbirth. My grandmother had 7 children. She also had a kidney stone. She said that she would rather have 7 more children than ever get another stone.
I had a 6 mm stone. I can definitely say it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. I woke up at 3 am on January 2nd, 2020 and it was so awful that I was shaking and vomiting. Then I spent a long morning in the emergency room so they could give me fluids, pain meds, and diagnose the problem. It took two surgeries to get rid of the stone, and was an incredibly emotionally and physically taxing month. Needless to say I've increased my water intake a lot since then because I really want to avoid going through it again.
@H14 Not as much as the doctor recommended lol. I think he told me I should drink like 96 oz a day. Which I've honestly found to not be that realistic for me on a regular basis. I'd say I drink closer to 60 oz a day.
@veenu thomas Probably depends on the kind of stone you're dealing with and how old you are. In some cases I think doctors will recommend diet changes, and of course, a increase in water intake is helpful. But you'll probably need to talk to your doctor about strategies specific to your situation.

My cat actually passed a kidney stone awhile ago, and it was the most horrifying thing I’ve ever witnessed. She was bleeding and running around wailing with horrible pain. I felt so bad for her, and we took her to the vet ASAP. I was afraid she was going to die because of the blood I saw, but the vet said she had passed a stone and I was so relieved that she would be ok. I’m so glad she’s doing better now and I always double check now to make sure her water bowl is extra full. I hope anyone else who is going through that experience themselves makes it out ok ❤️
@@Gold26502 For me it wasn't in my back but on the bottom right side where the appendix is. My doctors initially thought it was appendix but it took like a week for proper diagnoses of the stone.
YES! I’ve heard of stories of people going through horrible events and they sometimes say “I just wanted to die” and I always thought that was ridiculous. But after my kidney stone I now COMPLETELY understand how someone is capable of waiting death than to suffer intense pain. I now know it is truly possible to be in a situation where death is more preferable to the level of suffering one is going through. The pain is so epically saturating that you lose complete control of your existence and fall the all consuming force that give you no other choice.
I had a friend with kidney stones. We talked over the phone a lot she always told me how much she was in pain and how it never went away. She also had a hard time walking cause it hurt so bad. I cant even tell you how much she screamed and cried mentioning how bad she was in pain she later went to the hospital and finally got them out she doing fine now
Kidney stones is one of the Most painful thing I've ever experienced. I took a lot of medication but didn't work well, until i have practiced in drinking a lot of water daily, now i feel better.
*500 or 1000 years from now, when kidney stones are a thing of the past due to medical advancement* "I got this amazing kidney stone on my ring from an ancient humanoid"
Humans didn't have kidney stones until very recently. You know why? Because people either didn't eat vegetables or at least didn't eat it raw, ever. It's not going to go away because of some medical advancement but by people understanding things beyond the big-agro-industry propaganda. Vegetables have no significant nutrition, and even when they do, they are not bio-available to humans. Compare nutrition data from vegetables to same amount of meat and milk products and you'll see what I mean. Also, doctors want more kidney stones so they'll never recommend the proper solution, only the treatments.
The Slaurinburg me too dude I was gulping that shit These are my fears: 1. Kidney problems 2. Urinal tract problems 3. Some sort of cancer, maybe testicular 4. Getting more fat on my stomach 5. Not being in shape ever again
I have had many-and yes they suck, but I have had things that were SOOO much worse happen...its mostly something that people get through just fine. I had sepsis with one, that was the worst (esp since the idiot radiologist missed the stone in my ureter on my initial arrival to teh hosp-and after 3 days of high fever and misery, the urologist was called and he found teh stone on the SAME SCAN...I was pissed...) The on issue is getting enough pain meds, since the US govt is waging a war on acess to proper pain control. One med they commonly forget, but that helps alot, is pyridium-which numbs the urinary tract-great stuff but you have to ask for it sometimes.
Here in Saudi Arabia, many recover from kidney stones, here they soak parsley with boiling water and then leave it until it cools, then drink 1 liter or more of this water every day, then after a few days those stones come down during urination, even those who suffer from urinary tract infections recover with this recipe
This is the most painful thing you can experience...got my first kidney stone at 15 and I’m on my 5th one in the ER at age 20. Literally feels like somebody’s in your body pulling your guts out from the left side.
According to Louise hays work, a kidney stone is caused by lumps of undissolved anger ,so dissolve all anger or problems of the past so u don’t get another one ,release the anger
I'm going through my third encounter with them. I take a lot of very strong painkillers if I get an attack. Diazepam helps too if you can get them. I hope you feel better soon. Ask your doctor about lithotripsy treatment, that's what I'm going for
I have one too. Dr. Urologist said it was up to me what to do. Didn't tell me anything about pain, or drinking water. Now I am freaking out. Never had a baby, but an epidermal sounds great when the time comes. Last year I had to have my gallbladder removed and they saw the kidney stone on my MRI or CAT scan. Geesh, what will it be next year? Prefrontal Lobotomy time?
Doctor: Sir you have a kidney stone but we can get it out. Patient: Alright! Then get it out! (Gets kidney stone out) Doctor: Do you want to see the stone? Patient: Um sure? (Doctor proceeds to pull out a 1 kilogram kidney stone the size of a coconut) Patient: hol up
after passing a kidney stone, I am immune to the "i gave birth" card. i didn't know what it was at first, i just thought, "WTF is this pain? I think I'm dying."
I remember when i was little i used to eat dirt and my siblings told me that i will get kidney stones and that the only way to take the stone out is to keep me in water until the stone dissolves
Bro i suffered from kidney stone last year ......it was too much painful...bt i'm lucky it excreted through urine ....without any surgery thank god...😵🙏🙏
Damn, I had one last year too. It's because I don't drink enough water. It passed on it's own, but it was still one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. Now I drink water all the time.
Glory !!!!!! I had the surgery when I was 14 to get it out after having mine stuck for two weeks so basically for two weeks it felt like I was giving birth for two weeks then the surgery hurt just as much
I had a 6mm stone about a year ago. Definitely the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I was rolling around crying and vomiting and my neighbor had to take me to the hospital. I got pain meds and some other stuff to make the stone smaller. When I ‘flushed’ mine out I didn’t feel anything, which is a plus.
Just had surgery a week ago to have one removed. The trip to the ER 4 weeks prior to diagnose was the worst pain in my life. I don’t ever never wanna do any of this ever never again!

I passed a stone a couple years back. The worst thing is hearing a doctor say “There is nothing we can do at this point. You are going to pass it. Here is a prescription for some pain pills. Drink as much water as you can handle. If it doesn’t pass in 48 hrs come back and see us.” Pain so intense I passed out multiple times even after taking the pain killers.

I've had kidney stone crisis since I was 18. That means going to the ER, cause the pain is unbearable. And now I am learning that potato chips are one of the causes. This is so true cause this is the only junk food I've been addicted to all my life. Now I know why I get those stones, cause drinking a lot of water every day is something I've always done. So don't eat potato chips, that would be my advice. I'll try to, no choice.
@@fintech1378 As another 18 year old who just had their first stone, the pain wakes you up in the middle of the night with no warning. And the more you move, the more intense the pain gets. A hot shower definitely makes it hurt less but after half an hour the pain comes back even in the shower, you have to go to the ER (especially if, like in my case, trying to swallow painkillers makes you vomit them out immediately. At that point you need an IV)
This should be an educational tool for the families of people with kidney stones - very easy to understand and very accurate. It is hereditary, so if one of your parents has them, do what you can to minimize their (possible) formation! The pain is so bad you want to vomit.

Betsy Unfortunately while that helps speed the process if you have them I doesn’t completely prevent them nor get rid of them.Common kidney stones come from what it said in the video and too much soda.I hope you don’t get kidney stones they’re terrible
In my experience of passing a stone, I didn't feel any specific pain where I felt, "my urethra hurts". It's just a really excruciating pain that affects the entire lower abdomen.
For those that are scared of kidney stones, they listed the three causes....Urine pH too low, Urine pH too high and too much of the substances that kidney stones are made from. The too much part is eliminated by an adequate amount of pure water, because it is not really too much, but too high a ratio of stuff to water. Like if you put a tablespoon of salt in 2 tablespoons of water, that water is 33% stuff! But if you add another cup of water, that water has only 6% stuff in it. Simple. A human with perfect health has a urine pH of around 6.4. When the urine varies from that it shows a mineral deficiency because minerals are what buffer the pH in the body. Just like every other illness, this is a nutritional deficiency disease. Nutrients come from nutrient dense food. There is none of this in the quick stop store or the fast food places. If you are not eating real food then you should be scared. But the excruciating pain is not what you should be scared of. That is just a knock in the head telling you something REAL is coming if you continue to do what you have been doing.
I was on board until you said "just like every other illness, this is a nutritional deficiency disease". Food obviously plays into everything because, well, we eat, but to talk like inappropriate diets overwhelmingly cause every illness out there, and appropriate diets can fix every illness out there, is as bad a case of misinformation as I've ever seen
Just passed one and it was the worst pain I’ve had in years. If it’s moving you are miserable until it makes it to your bladder. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

I had a kidney stone a couple years ago. Took almost 2 months to pass. Excruciating pain that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. 8 trips to Emergency Room. First visit, was told I needed surgery due to its size, and they were scheduling surgery immediately. They asked for my insurance info to admit me to hospital. When I gave them my Medicaid info, they came back and said "here's an Rx for pain meds, go home and wait for it to pass." Same story each visit after that "here's some pain meds, go home and wait for it to pass." The pain was so intense, that the pain meds only alleviated 30% of the pain.
This made me cry, guysdont hold your pee for too long! You can get kidney stones by it! Also drink alot of water everyday to stay hydrated and safe from the kinder stones! Good luck everyone!
Cami Giron it's very difficult anyway since you don't know if you're prone to them (if you're not prone to them you're not going to get them) or if you're consuming things that cause them (different stones are caused by different things and once again it comes down to what you're prone to), etc.

"I got this amazing kidney stone on my ring from an ancient humanoid"
Humans didn't have kidney stones until very recently. You know why? Because people either didn't eat vegetables or at least didn't eat it raw, ever. It's not going to go away because of some medical advancement but by people understanding things beyond the big-agro-industry propaganda. Vegetables have no significant nutrition, and even when they do, they are not bio-available to humans. Compare nutrition data from vegetables to same amount of meat and milk products and you'll see what I mean.
Also, doctors want more kidney stones so they'll never recommend the proper solution, only the treatments.

My urethra hurts.. 😟😟

Yathu prem WE NEED SOME WATER RIGHT NOW THIS BOI NEED SOME WATER
If I don't drink enough water, I get kidney stones, so I can say confidently that water helps prevent them.
What foods are axeactly the one we should eat?
Im not reading that
Btw why is there a cientist in a kids educational channel
I was on board until you said "just like every other illness, this is a nutritional deficiency disease". Food obviously plays into everything because, well, we eat, but to talk like inappropriate diets overwhelmingly cause every illness out there, and appropriate diets can fix every illness out there, is as bad a case of misinformation as I've ever seen

Had my first one last year. Lovely experience.
