    Hi Barbara!
    I started an easy heart shawl. I like it a lot. Both sides are very pretty, as if there's no wrong side. Plus your tutorial makes it so easy to follow. The actual knitting is easy to read even if you forget which row you're on. Thank you so much!

    I have subscribed and then I went back to see your playlist and poof my dream shawl was there. You got me hooked on crescent but I thought I'd have to figure out how to get the triangle and the crescent and poof you have already done it the best of both. THANK YOU! I like your teaching and personality as well. I hope it rains again tomorrow so I can enjoy more.

    I know I'm late to the party, but thank you so much for your free pattern videos! One thing I love about them is that they focus on the structure that produces the overall shape - the number of increases in the center, the number of increases on the sides, and from there, the knitter can improvise. I'd like to intersperse the woven stitch with lace panels, maybe separated by a row of garter, and feel totally confident in doing so. I also think it would be fun to knit a cardigan and either a heart or circular shawl, and stitch the shawl onto the cardigan to make a shawl collar. Thanks for igniting my imagination.

    You are one of the cutest ladies ever! I would really enjoy meeting you--you seem so nice to talk with! I have a goal-and that is to make a shawl. My question is: What size circular needles do I use to make a shawl since I have some coming? Could you please let me know? Thanks for sharing Love! And one other thing--what kind of circular needles are those? That's a pretty color!

    • @WatchBarbaraKnit
      @WatchBarbaraKnit  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean size with regards to the cable length or size with regards to diameter of the needle? If cable length, you will need something in the 36 - 42 inch long range. As far as diameter, it will totally depend on what size yarn you use.

    • @patricecooper8419

    I'm a tad confused. It seems that the row 4 instructions (at the bottom of the video) for both the set-up and the body don't match what you are actually knitting. Also I noticed some KYOK instructions that weren't done as you were knitting. Probably just me, no? Anyway, it's a beautiful shawl and as far as Commander Riker is concerned: it's him!

    • @WatchBarbaraKnit
      @WatchBarbaraKnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andie Straus Hi! I am totally willing to entertain the idea I made a mistake so I went back and double checked. I think the thing that is confusing you is that there are multiple ways to actually word the same instructions. The text below the video are the instructions distilled down to the most abbreviated way of writing the instructions. They do accurately describe what I am knitting. As far as kYOK, those only occur in the center stitch on the wrong side. I'm not certain where else you think you saw them!

    • @k9sandcats268
      @k9sandcats268 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Humblest apologies, Barbara! I really don't know where my brain was hiding. Whist watching as you were knitting, I lost track of the KYOK being the middle stitch, which is easy enough to find. Mayhaps it's because I'm working on your "Easy Crescent-Shaped Shawl", I was thinking that I needed to KYOK into a big hole. So, please forgive. In my own defense, however, sometimes I can't help it....I'm old. BTW, thanks for the occasional belly laugh; you have quite a way with language and a marvelous sense of humor. Be well. Ps. I got hard copies of this shawl, as well as the crescent shawl, and the directions are great, especially the sidebar where I can add my "Scribbles" ;-)

    • @WatchBarbaraKnit
      @WatchBarbaraKnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No apologies necessary! I can see where it could be confusing. The crescent shaped shawl does make it easy to see where kYOk goes with that big hole LOL. I'm glad that my videos can bring a chuckle into your life - sometimes there isn't enough of that. I'm glad you like my sidebar. When I was developing my pattern template I looked at all of the patterns I had scribbled all over and decided I needed a spot.
