- The windows are going in at The Everything Garage. Well actually this happened a few weeks back. Installing a window with a nailing fin might be one of the easiest window installs out there. But there are a few tricks to ensuring a watertight seal around the window for years to come.
This video is a short description on how I install windows with a nailing fin.

Super simple, easy to follow. Hate watching 20 minute videos full of fluff when I'm trying to get something done. Thanks!
Thanks for watching 👍
Tip I learned is not to tape the bottom flange of the window so any water that makes its way behind the window and onto the sill can escape. Otherwise thumbs up!
That actually makes a ton of sense, cheers 👍
That was very helpful !
Thanks 👍🏽
you did not calk the inside of the window frame before instaling window? and is the red tape like black zip tape?
Hello thanks for the video can you share your thoughts/insight on installing J channel around windows vs ordering J channel built into the window
My only thoughts would be color matched J channel vs. that of the window.
👍
How did you manage the tape in the bottom corners before inserting the window?
I’m confused how were you able to adjust the window side to side when you had nails in the nailing flange
The nailing flange typically has slots that allow the window to move side to side slightly. I didn't nail down tight until it was in position.
@@hsdesignstudio yea was looking at the flange holes today guess they do have a bit of play
