I used retreads on my garbage trucks. Much cheaper, would last almost as long as a new one. I only used them in the rear. Front tires were always new ones.
@@dacat8171 no doubt but with dual twin axles a recap coming undone is highly unlikely to cause much of an issue. A front tire blowing on the other hand could depending on speed and direction. Never had one come apart anyway.
The truth is, there are people who know how to do this type of work well, and that's fine, because not all people have the money to buy new tires and well, apart from that, it's a good source of work, congratulations

They are clearly retreads, virgins look different where the tread meets the Casing. There is no Betrayal or Misbranding of the Retreads. It’s so obvious that once you see a Virgin and a retread side by side you’ll notice the difference

Recaps are great for trucks and trailers as long as their on the drive axles and the trailers only you don’t want them on the front axle or steer axle at all cause when the cap comes apart it’ll shred the front of your fiberglass hood into tiny little pieces
I worked for a big tire company with a strict rule to "never mount retreads" so we didn't have to argue with people about not putting them on the front, liabilities, guarantees on workmanship etc. They'd still argue with us every time though 😄
At low speeds allegedly they do great, high speeds, thats why you see tread lining the sides of the interstate and making road hazards, you go above 55 mph on these they will eventually delaminate long before that tread wears down, they usually only make these for trucks and trailers and you never put it on your front wheels cause when they go they will tear up your front end, thats also where you steer so yoh definitely dont wanna have something throw your ability to steer off

In India, guys do this work by hands. It's extremely dangerous to buy these tires to fit on vehicles to drive on roads. But some people do buy these tires to keep as standby(spare)( Stepney) .🙄
These are retreads for the back tires and trailer tires of 18 wheelers, and box trucks! They can not be used as front tires! This is a standard practice in the trucking industry!
One good option,. Yet the most important part is the QUALITY of the cover, because its rubber must have ALL the characteristics it needs for resilience, wear and het resistance. Making rubber is like making a cake: each one has its OWN prescription. 👍

They are? Atleast in the u.s. each factory is required to brand near the original DOT with w/y and factory stamp for every new cap

Only unsafe at high speeds. They tend to hold up fine at 55mph or below on rear axles
