This is argubly one of the better purchases for anyone wanting to get into gaming on the cheap nowadays. I acquired a used original ps4 and I just did the same thing with it. I also was amazed how much quieter it was while testing God of War. This is a decent way to get into gaming but hopefully it's not something people will have to rely on for a while longer. I do like the PS4 for the exclusives, however as a pc gamer, I can confirm that the 30fps framerates make it hard for me to enjoy the game as I normally would. I just couldn't stop thinking how much better the game would be if it were playable on my pc.

I got a used ps4 for my birthday and I can not be more happy with it Pros: its a ps4. Clean and hardly used. Very fun and controller was also clean Cons: smelled like smoke for a bit and I have allergys. Went away in a few days
That noise reduction after the thorough cleaning was crazy. Since I have PC capable of gaming, this video reminds me that I should probably sell my PS4 to someone who needs it more. Nice video with sound advice to gamers looking for options in the apocalypse.
As much as the video is informative and well done as always, it kind of gripes me that he's saying the console is 7 years old when the PS4 PRO was released in 2016.
I found my current PS4 at a Goodwill for $25 labeled "parts". Got it home and it worked fine but overheated and shut off. Was just a hair filled fin block and after cleaning it is great. It is not a pro model but I upgraded the HDD to a 1TB hybrid SSHD on the cheap. Not as fast as an SSD but cut most load times in half.
Wow, what a great video for someone that did the same thing, I did buy a new fan and high quality thermal pads for both my original and new ps4 pro. Now I have a bedroom unit, and a living room one for the better frametime and resolution. Cheers
Man if you like the ps4 controller, you are going to love the dual sense controller! I got my ps5 in March and I love it! Ps4 pro and vr head set are in the bedroom. Waiting for psvr 2!!
Just a tip. When you blow air into a fan like that, hold it so it does not spin. When it spins fast, it actually generates a small amount of electricity, and can damage your hardware.
Watch the video first. Whole point is, 260 bucks for this, during the whole scalping shortage. For 260 bucks right now you won't be gaming above 30FPS, especially not at the graphical fidelity the PS4 Pro can spit out. I have a 3770K and RX 580 so I know about old hardware and while yes, my PC can run games better, you can barely get an RX 580 for 260 right now, let alone the rest of a PC.
@@markothevrba My whole point is on a weaker PC you can turn settings down to get more frames. What good is the PS4 Pro if a graphics card slower than it can provide better gameplay through higher framerates? You can do plenty of 60FPS gaming on cards much slower than the RX 580.
I don't get what the fuss is about PC users and 30FPS. The only 2 PS4 games where I have seen any frame rate drop have been WreckFest and Train Sim World. All the rest have run perfectly smoothly including memory intensive games like Warhammer Vermintide.

And there's loads of free games to download!
I bought a used ps4 two months ago for $230. I'm currently playing Red Dead 2 And is absolutely quiet! I don't understand why people are always complaining about the noise. It's quieter than my computer fan. Y'all need to clean your machines!
Great video Dawid, even today in march 2022. The PS4 Pro is a great option. I picked up one a few months ago and although I needed to do exactly what you did to avoid the overheating messages, it worked great and the console should be good for several years.
This was a welcome addition to your more PC oriented content, and I am certainly here for it :D
I can also happily recommend a SATA 3 SSD in a standard PlayStation 4 non pro. I upgraded the standard 500gb HDD to a 1tb Crucial MX500 and the difference was still night and day!
Kinda pointless since the regular ps4 is sata 2
That's cool! I am glad to hear you are fine with some diversification.
Also, SSDs are always worth it, even with Sata 2. HDDs are so slow. :)
@@mryellow6918 Trust me, the difference is stark. This is not hyperbole
Dawid: No single stick of ram was found in the making of this video 🤓
Sounds like a celebration
Pc isnt real gaming
@@nobody7817 I'm not a kid I'm 24 and I know pc is not real gaming console only quiet nerd

This was extremely useful. I have a PS5 and I still have my PS4 Pro hooked up to my living room. I use my PS5 mostly for 120hz games on a compatible monitor but the PS4 Pro is still where I game the most since some of my PS4 games are physical and my PS5 is all digital. Thanks for the tips if I ever need to do maintenance on my Pro. 👍
Just bought my first PS4. Can't wait for it to be delivered
I bought a brand new 1tb w/spider-man on sale for $230 USD in 2018 now they are $300 used. It’s so crazy how the market can flip like that
I acquired a used original ps4 and I just did the same thing with it.
God Of War is on PC now.
I see that sneaky Alfa Romeo shirt you have there ;)
Man, I was saving money since 5 years for a new pc and now all this shortages and due to COVID I don't even have the money left.
terrible to build a pc even before covid all the components are mad scalped. Just buy a console dude.
Still a great option in 2022. The high demand has reflected on the slow jump in generation for PS4-PS5.
Sold my ps4 pro b4 Christmas..
Missed rdr2 too much , bought a used Xbox One X yesterday and downloaded the game ... feels great to be riding my horses again 😌
Dawid: Ribbon cables are a real pain in the butt

I didn't want to have to offload that burden onto the audience.

Yo why was I researching the painting on his T-Shirt in my art class this morning
It’s one of the more iconic art pieces.
That's awesome!
What's the name of the painting?
@@HarishBabuM I forgot. That’s how bad my art teacher is. I remember it’s of Mount Fuji though if you want to look it up
I cleaned my PS4 pro last week and it became way quieter than before. I didn't replace the thermal paste though as removing the motherboard is not exactly safe or easy.
Yeah, it is a harrowing experience. Not for the faint of heart.
I got a used ps4 for my birthday and I can not be more happy with it
Pros: its a ps4. Clean and hardly used. Very fun and controller was also clean
Cons: smelled like smoke for a bit and I have allergys. Went away in a few days
That noise reduction after the thorough cleaning was crazy. Since I have PC capable of gaming, this video reminds me that I should probably sell my PS4 to someone who needs it more. Nice video with sound advice to gamers looking for options in the apocalypse.
Soooooo, what type of delivery are you planning to do?
Tip: Watch the intro music at 2x speed!
Can we talk about that home theater setup? Those speakers are INSANE!
Ripping a cable out of the fan connector definitely solves the noise problem, great idea!
Plot Twist: The fan really broke that’s why it’s that quiet.
Plot twist to the plot twist: the fan broke and the PS4 burns the house
Why we should have a ps4 in 2021 ? Simply because God of war ragnarok , GT7 and Horizon will also coming to ps4 😅

Wow, what a great video for someone that did the same thing, I did buy a new fan and high quality thermal pads for both my original and new ps4 pro. Now I have a bedroom unit, and a living room one for the better frametime and resolution. Cheers
Nice video. Your accent sounds like you could be from South Africa. Anyway, really enjoyed your teardown video.

What was louder, the PS4 or that Corsair RGB?!
That is tough question to answer. I'm leaning towards the RGB. 😅

Man if you like the ps4 controller, you are going to love the dual sense controller! I got my ps5 in March and I love it! Ps4 pro and vr head set are in the bedroom. Waiting for psvr 2!!
Interesting video! I skipped the Ps4 also. Just purchased a used slim, looks like it still has great potential 👍

"this console has clearly never lost its virginity" had me rolling, my sides hurt from laughing so hard
Just a tip. When you blow air into a fan like that, hold it so it does not spin. When it spins fast, it actually generates a small amount of electricity, and can damage your hardware.
Buying a loud PS4 Pro for cheap is great. Quick clean and re-application of thermal paste and it's whisper quiet again.
LMAO "This console has clearly never lost it's innocence" LMAO hahahaha
I'll stick to older PC hardware and just turn settings down.
No way I am going to play games at 30FPS.
@@magmamaster1801 There is a point, especially with old nvidia cards, that you cannot run newer games at all due to lack of support of newer apis.
@@gamagama69 Yes, a point that is almost 10 whole years in the past.
I don't get what the fuss is about PC users and 30FPS. The only 2 PS4 games where I have seen any frame rate drop have been WreckFest and Train Sim World. All the rest have run perfectly smoothly including memory intensive games like Warhammer Vermintide.
2:37 That didnt age well
My dad just purchased ps4 slim and im really excited abt it. I've been gaming on my phone since forever (except that psp go that doesn't work anymore)
