I recently obtained my 486th physical title for ps4. I sometimes glance at the collection and smile, not because of the size but because of its variety. Any genre at any time, it's truly what gaming is about.
I recently picked up a PS4 Pro for $300 and put a 1TB SSD in it and as someone who owns a PS5, I can confidently say that PS4 is definitely worth playing/getting in 2022/23.
PS4 is an absolute must own. Currently there is no need to buy a PS5 and certainly no way to justify dropping $500 on a system alone. I just bought a Spiderman PS4 Pro Bundle with 10 games for $250, an absolute steal. I am buying as many cheap bangers as I can for PS4 while its easy to do so! Thanks for the video fellas!

@@tr1bes true and to max out storage on a ps5 is much more expensive) a 8 tb nvme (microcenter has one) is $999.99. Still pretty pricey on a ps4 though and to be fair you can re-use it. So your ps4 investment will pay off for when the ps5 pro is out. And NVME storage might of come down by then somewhat There are some exclusives on the ps5, but guess what will be cheap when the ps5 pro comes out? If not simply bundled with one. And frankly it still feels like the 6 month period 2 years into the ps5 lifespan. Its literally reliant upon last gen games with slightly better graphics and better frame-rate and better load times than anything truly substantial. That and better resolution.

The PS4 will likely down down as one of the best home consoles in gaming, plus Sony themselves were at their finest during this generation, (games) the PS5 has a lot to live up to.
This is so cool I just cleaned my ps4 last night, it sounded like a rocket taking off every time I played it, I took it apart and cleaned the hell out of it and it so quite again it's ridiculous. Hopefully I can get 5 to 10 more years of of it. I play my ps5 through remote play on the ps4 when I'm in my bedroom and don't want to go down stairs to the mancave.
Great video as always guys! My biggest thing with my PS4 pro is the shotty disk drive. I was lucky enough to get a PS5 early on. I just keep adding more games to my back catalog. And one thing that pisses me off is there are games that have ZERO on the disk. I had to download the entire game. What is that going to do us collectors in the future? I guess keep collecting for the older gens..... I also know that same pawn shop. They are trying HAAAARD to get rid of those games.
I can’t recommend PSVR enough to light gun game fans like yourselves. I know you guys love The House Of The Dead & Time Crisis series so i would encourage you to check out Crisis Vrigade 1/2 & Until Dawn Rush Of Blood. I always looked at VR as a novelty until i finally bought one with some credit i had at a local game store but my mind was blown the first time i played it.
PS4 Generation is my favorite...i think people will feel the same in 15 or so years...granted everything will be forwards compatible...it wont have true exclusives any more, but it would have been the birthplace of many

Last gen is still very relevant. I was just thinking about this today. Graphics and content on PS3/360 had arrived fully that generation, but the tech still struggled to maintain a solid 30 FPS with convincing draw distances in outdoor environments or busy firefights, and the supermajority of titles ran at less than 1080p. PS4/X1 pretty much carried on with graphics and content, with the new tech facilitating more visually believable worlds. PS5 is pressing it further, but with less of a jump. Play any open world game on ps4 pro and soon you'll forget you're not on a PS5...
I love the PS4. I have the Spiderman PS4 Pro. It does still have advantages on a 1080p screen due to graphics super sampling. It makes games look better. I still play mine from time to time. I think it's a great time to jump in and get games for the PS4. I have a PS5/XSX and honestly it's been an underwhelming generation for me. Outside of Ratchet and Clank nothing really has that wow factor for me.
The PS4 is awesome. I bought the Pro brand new back in August 2018, as I was super excited for Spider-Man which I pre-ordered before I even had a console to play it on. I had to save up at least a monthly salary and a half to buy the system, so it has a lot of sentimental value for me too. To this day, I play it daily and have accumulated so many games over the years, both physical and digital. I even collected most of the exclusives. I was considering a PS5 because the PS4 Pro was noisy recently, but what I did instead, was save that 500 bucks and spent 30 to have the PS4 cleaned and repasted. And now it's silent and I am still playing the hell out of it, with more games on my radar that I am looking forward to adding to my collection. I may get a PS5 when it gets cheaper, a better looking model comes out, or my PS4 is damaged beyond repair, but for now, I'll still with the good ol' Pro.
Gotta love buying/collecting SO MANY great games at the absolute cheapest prices. I literally have an arsenal of banger PS4 titles that'll last me forever. Highly recommend doing a SSD hard drive swap because it's supers easy and quick. I got 4TB in mine and it's been the best upgrade. Nice cheap gem worth playing that doesn't get enough love is Nioh/Nioh 2...but there are so many hidden gems. This console saved Sony, hands down... *LONG LIVE THE PS4‼️* 🔥🤘💯
My favourite PS4 special editions are the 2 different days of play ones, especially the blue and gold one, the 500 million special edition (I got one) and the PS1 anniversary model.
PS4 is a top tier console, regardless of issues like C-bomb (resolved through software update) or issues from late 7th gen onwards like unfinished games or day one DLC, it has so many zinger games. I like weird jrpg’s and the western RPG’s that aren’t Witcher or Dragon Age Inquisition, stuff like Bards Tale, and indie platforms, Metroidvania. PS4 has been great to collect these games for physically. Some of my coolest, and most generally underrated games physically in my collection are PS4. Zanki Zero - survival post apocalyptic grid based jrpg with aging and reincarnation mechanics. A unique game. Blasphemous - gorgeous, souls-like metroidvania Cloudpunk - cyberpunk floating car delivery driver simulator - what? Has a nice physical release Record of the Lodoss War : Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth - metroidvania with the best name ever? Based on the oldschool D&D campaign inspired anime. PS4 is great for people who love those iconic “Sony” type AAA games. It’s great to play this generation’s multiplats. Best system for JRPG’s since the Vita and 3DS, excluding that, since PS1 and PS2. Good system for 2d platforms. Great for Metroidvania. Great for people who still like physical releases. Back in 2013 it was looking like it would be a dead generation but since like 2016 (I guess??) it’s been pretty cool. There’s also tonnes of really cheap games, and lots of the niche physicals were cheap upon release at least. JRPG’s were also cheap at release. Some are still really cheap. I did spend mega money (£700) on a boxed, new PS4 pro “500 million” special edition, translucent blue, but it’s my first and only PS4 and I waited for years. Could’ve got it for £500 but didn’t have the money back then. I’ve always been a big collector of consoles and especially translucent blue stuff. Translucent blue N64 is my absolute favourite.

I got one back this year and it’s a launch model I got from a friend with the help of TH-cam I quickly opened it up and removed the most dust you’ve ever seen in your life 😅 I’m glad I take care of my electronics but the system has worked out great since the cleaning and I’m glad to be an owner of a PS4 again. I may even hold out for PlayStation six because I consider PS5 a complete and total disaster. And I’m having way too much fun with the Xbox series X and Nintendo switch to support the Sony scalper life 🎮🎄
Btw the PS4 is super easy to upgrade the internal drive on and storage is really cheap these days. You just need a 2.5" laptop drive. Personally when I need a 2.5" drive, I grab Seagate backup plus slim 2TB external at Walmart for 60 and shuck them. Cheapest way to get a new drive and you also get a USB 3.0 to SATA enclosure. I have like 5 from modding 360's lol. An SSD is an option but I think only Pro's benefit from having it internal. Alternatively you could go bigger and get a 4tb hard drive for under 100
Got 900 PS4 games and counting. It's safe to say I am a fan lol. PS4 is my fav generation after PS1. Absolutely love collecting for it. Since PS5 is backwards compatible I will be buying PS4 games for a long long time. Great video as always dudes!
I have a large physical ps4 collection. But for the most part I buy smaller indie games or older ports or remasters. Or game of the year editions/ later releases of the same game with updates on disc. Or games that I know when servers are down I can throw the disc in and not worry about it .
I got a PS4 pro as an upgrade to my PS4 because it was better optimized for PSVR it's a great system to own even today. I agree it has great games but I know the older ones sound like a jet engine

PS4 is worth owning for bloodborne alone. Best souls game ever made and one of my top 5 games of all time. A downside to the ps4 though imo is the controller. A lot of people will disagree with me there and maybe it's just the shape of my hands, but it's the most awkward feeling Playstation controller to me. Always felt like my hands were sliding off it and I could never get a proper grip. The dualsense though has to be my favorite controller of all time. Wish sony would let you play with them on ps4.
I got a ps4 slim in 2018 and then sold it to get a pc in 2020. My family earlier this year got a ps5 and they just handed me the old og ps4. Runs great after putting an ssd in it and I plan on getting new thermal paste before I start playing exclusives like spiderman and last of us
I love my ps4. I have a ps4 pro as well but coz that’s CIB I’ve kept it packed away and I’m happy to rock my original ps4 that I picked up for next to nothing as it was overheating. Just stripped it down, cleaned it all out, cleaned out the heat sink and applied new thermal paste. Works good as new, god of war,uncharted 4 and shadow of the tomb raider r my favourite titles
So I’m relatively new to understanding patch notes and drm, if down the line Sony shuts down servers, as long as I have game patches installed and on either a interval or external bar drive are they safe as long as I don’t uninstall them?
I got my PS4 in 2016 on black friday, last one on the shelf at Target which I thought was strange. Also bought Uncharted 4 and Fallout 4. Two of my favorite franchises from Bethesda and Naughty Dog.
I was lucky to score a Death Stranding PS4 Pro for $150 honestly it's pretty sweet and I haven't had this urge to get a PS5. Honestly the way things have been going PS4 might be my last console game system, PC have done amazing things with mini PCs that can run pretty much everything and even low settings on PC look better than PS4. For collectors PSVR is a must because PSVR is the only console that has physical VR games, Moss VR is that one title I slept on when it was $25 now used it can go for $60 or more.
If I could find one for wicked cheap, I'd probably pick it up. The indie titles are mostly what I'd be interested in. I do have a few of the limited edition controllers I found for a good price, but I can use those on other hardware including PC. I've been using the PS4 controller on my PS2 in my living room setup, which is pretty sweet. I've missed out on most generations over the last two decades, so the backlog is growing...
I too have the OG PS4 500gb. I use a 2 TB external HD to store my games. Love this system. I even replaced the original HD due to a failure. Had to get bios on a USB drive, tear it apart and replace. Got it working and I was so proud, considering using just youtube videos. That made it even more personal to me. Great vid guys!
last week I bought a ps4 slim with 2 original controllers and a camera + 13 games for 100 euro's, I could hardly believe it myself. ^^ So my ps3/Wii U has some compatition in the tv cabinet xD
Great video. I've really warmed up to the PS4/Xbox One generation. So much so I think its where I am going to stay until late in the PS6s life cycle. I picked up both a PS5 and Series X....but not to play new games....to play games from the PS4/Xbox one era with faster load times from the SSDs and Quick Resume on xbox. As far as I'm concerned I'm content until end of next gen (PS6 era). Long live gaming off the grid!
Psvr in my opinion is awesome in spurts..like a few hours once a week Any more than that and you don't get that wow factor because your eyes get use to the 3d effect if you play it a lot There is some awesome gaming experiences to be had with the vr Usually find them in my area $100-$150 Resident evil biohazard is my favorite VR game Rush of blood is a fun one with a bunch of friends
Great video and topic as always. I've been playing on PS4 since 2015 and still have a bunch of games I still want to play. Most of the PS5 games are available on PS4, and they still look great, no reason to upgrade yet. The only reason I'll get PS5 is once FF XVI comes out.

I could talk for DAYS about the PS4. If I have knowledge for any console, it’s THIS one. PS4 is certainly a power house and even apart from the exclusives (which are many) it has SO MANY fantastic indie titles. The PS4 controller is wonderful like you mentioned. The PSVR is fun. I enjoy it for survival horror games but it’s so nausea inducing. The Oculus is a step above. I will totally agree, worth every penny!
Excited to see what you guys say about the Xbox one since I have the ps4 already. The cheap games are awesome and even the new ones just go on sale a few months later
I am all over the place when it comes to video games. I am way older than most of the folks here in the video game community but in my opinion the PS4 could go down as one of the best ever consoles. I think it kinda hinges on the games and the ability to download the updated patches but if that shakes out the game library is amazing. But right now it has one helluva library of amazing games! 🍻Cheers!

This video was great, and timely for me. I am an OG gamer from the 80’s. NES and all that. Now 42, a homeowner, full time job and two kids in last two years gaming time is rare. But, I love games and there’s a lot I want to play. I have accepted not getting PS5 and that generation. Maybe PS6 if/when kids are into it whenever it comes out. Maybe a different console then. I didn’t get PS4 until 1.5-2yrs after it’s release. Was very much enjoying 360 still. I still do. Now PS5 out two years and there’s zero FOMO because there are so many 360 games I want to play, let alone PS4 games - so many great high quality games! And games from those machines I want to replay! I get peer pressure as a kid and FOMO that comes with that. But as an old fart there’s none and it’s great cuz as you said I can get amazing games for smokin dirt cheap prices!

Slender: The Arrival ($2) Hotline Miami Collection (2d Twin Stick, highly acclaimed, $5) Payday Crimewave collection ($5, robbing banks simulator, Crimewave includes a bunch of DLC) Titanfall 2 ($6, no multiplayer, singleplayer campaign is fantastic) Metal Wolf Chaos (mech simulator, gameplay is a little greasy but the dialogue is late 90's, early 2000's goodness, $10) Team Sonic Racing (I got it thru PS Plus game, highly recommend) Panzer Dragoon Remake ($10) Windjammers 1/2 (Windjammers 2 made by DotEmu, same creators of Streets of Rage 4 and Wonder Boy/Monster World collection. Amazing frisbee/volleyball 2d game. Got it on release for $25, have seen it for $15) Scribblenauts MegaPack ($5, the DC was the only one I cared about, fan community made some Marvel characters like Iron Man, Black Panther, Spidey, as well as Godzilla. I’m rocking a Limited Edition Death Stranding PS4 Pro that I upgraded the internal storage to a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD. This thing screams! Graphics and performance are superb. I own over 100 games on physical release for it as well.

I was a PS2 gamer but switched to Xbox during the 360 era in 2005 to present, but when I got my series X I was able to do a direct trade of my old Xbox one X for a PS4 slim and 4 games at a used electronics store, so I've been enjoying exclusives I missed on like spiderman, uncharted, days gone and infamous. Spiderman and Miles morales are my favorites so far
i got my slim ver 2019 and you wont believe how many amazing games I have finished on my ps4. literally almost all games that known to many except RDR2 and Spiderman, but I know the time will come.. one of the best underrated exclusive on ps4 is The Order 1886 that you can only get for $6-$8...

After I sale my PS4 Slim in 2021 because I buy a Series X, I miss it because I doesn’t own a PS5 and I realized, that the ps5 isn’t interesting enough to pay 550€. In Nov '22 I walked in a Electronic Store and there was a lot of original from Sony refurbished OG PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. I decided to buy the PS4 Slim with 500 GB. It cost 180€ with an original and new controller and one year warranty. I've always found the Slim to be the best PS4 because it's the quietest and still performs very well overall. Since then I've been catching up on some PS4 exclusive games I missed back then and can even still play some new releases like GoWR. I know that 2023 is the end of the PS4's time. When it does, I'm going to get a PS5 Slim. I'm sure Sony will announce it in 2023. As soon as it costs around 350€, I'll buy it. I can wait.

The day Sunset Overdrive, an Insomnia game originally exclusive to XBOX and PC, comes to a Playstation system will be a day of shock like Xbox buying Bethesda and Activision In all seriousness, I don't see the reason for PS5 just yet. The only exclusive I would like to play are Destroy All Humans 2 remake, and the expanded experience of Cyberpunk 2077 since CDPR announced all the anime and future updates will be next gen. Sunset will probably just be exclusive to Ps5 or higher sadly 🤬
Love my ps4 and vr. Definitely play more on the normal side, but vr adds a ton. Rush of blood, iron man, skyrim and doom 3 vr edition are all highly recommended from me. My paranormal activity game, still in the wrapper. I may be a war vet, but my courage has its limits
The PS5, at least to me, feels more like a PS4 "Super Pro" seeing how most of the games that you can play on PS5... ARE ON PS4! There's exclusives obviously, but the list is not nearly as big as all the third-party games you can play on it. It's a good console, but not really that exciting. Plus, it doesn't help that getting a PS5 is like Mission Impossible, even years after its launch.
Imo no....PS5 is worth it...but the PS4 prices don't make sense right now at this point...Xbox one still makes sense though you can pick one up at a pawn shop for like 80 bucks all day and for a extra 10 you can get that game pass ultimate shit and be playing all kinds of games all under 100$
PS4 Pro + Crucial 1TB MX500 SSD inside and all is well still! No lag on dashboard and game load times are massively reduced. PS4's UI blows the awful PS5 UI out of the water.
My 4Tb ps4 hard drive is barely enough, 2TB xbox hard drive isn’t enough. Yeah storage is a big must have. I wish they would hurry up and make 4TB M.2 for the ps5 because I already know the 2TB option isn’t gonna be enough and I don’t want to take the faceplates off more than I already have too.
I love the PS4 library. So many superb games. But unless you are getting a really good deal i would skip the PS4 Pro. Save your pennies for the PS5. The full backwards compatibility just gives you a quieter, faster loading and more powerful PS4 pro. The faster load times are a huge quality of life improvement The ps4 slim can be a great buy if you are on a budget.
My ps4 slim is a great solid machine. I have a 4tb hard drive and tons of games. It’s a workhorse. Just got a ps5 last week. HYPED!!! NOW is the time to pick up cheap ps4 games

Love my modded ps4 😁 Need a pro to mod, not huge fan of ps5 besides controller. I have a slim and original both well alive for 5 years. I had the white destiny one and it yellow led flashed no hdmi signal after 2 years. Still have my ps3 modded as well but it is my original has about 8 years or so.
I got the 1 tb original PS4 at GameStop back in the day. I was salty bc I bought the console only version and the ps4 pro came out like less than a month later. Oh, well I still rock it and I use the PSVR all the time.

I had the launch ps4 pro and upgraded to the ps5 because the loud fan noise and most of my friends upgraded. I would of kept the ps4 but the fans is just a down grade from the ps5 I don’t see the point of keeping it longer than 2 more years because it maybe not work like the guy mentioned

There are some exclusives on the ps5, but guess what will be cheap when the ps5 pro comes out? If not simply bundled with one.
And frankly it still feels like the 6 month period 2 years into the ps5 lifespan. Its literally reliant upon last gen games with slightly better graphics and better frame-rate and better load times than anything truly substantial. That and better resolution.

This is so cool I just cleaned my ps4 last night, it sounded like a rocket taking off every time I played it, I took it apart and cleaned the hell out of it and it so quite again it's ridiculous. Hopefully I can get 5 to 10 more years of of it. I play my ps5 through remote play on the ps4 when I'm in my bedroom and don't want to go down stairs to the mancave.

Great video as always guys! My biggest thing with my PS4 pro is the shotty disk drive. I was lucky enough to get a PS5 early on. I just keep adding more games to my back catalog. And one thing that pisses me off is there are games that have ZERO on the disk. I had to download the entire game. What is that going to do us collectors in the future? I guess keep collecting for the older gens..... I also know that same pawn shop. They are trying HAAAARD to get rid of those games.

I can’t recommend PSVR enough to light gun game fans like yourselves. I know you guys love The House Of The Dead & Time Crisis series so i would encourage you to check out Crisis Vrigade 1/2 & Until Dawn Rush Of Blood. I always looked at VR as a novelty until i finally bought one with some credit i had at a local game store but my mind was blown the first time i played it.

Last gen is still very relevant. I was just thinking about this today. Graphics and content on PS3/360 had arrived fully that generation, but the tech still struggled to maintain a solid 30 FPS with convincing draw distances in outdoor environments or busy firefights, and the supermajority of titles ran at less than 1080p. PS4/X1 pretty much carried on with graphics and content, with the new tech facilitating more visually believable worlds. PS5 is pressing it further, but with less of a jump. Play any open world game on ps4 pro and soon you'll forget you're not on a PS5...

I love the PS4. I have the Spiderman PS4 Pro. It does still have advantages on a 1080p screen due to graphics super sampling. It makes games look better. I still play mine from time to time.
I think it's a great time to jump in and get games for the PS4. I have a PS5/XSX and honestly it's been an underwhelming generation for me. Outside of Ratchet and Clank nothing really has that wow factor for me.

The PS4 is awesome. I bought the Pro brand new back in August 2018, as I was super excited for Spider-Man which I pre-ordered before I even had a console to play it on. I had to save up at least a monthly salary and a half to buy the system, so it has a lot of sentimental value for me too. To this day, I play it daily and have accumulated so many games over the years, both physical and digital. I even collected most of the exclusives. I was considering a PS5 because the PS4 Pro was noisy recently, but what I did instead, was save that 500 bucks and spent 30 to have the PS4 cleaned and repasted. And now it's silent and I am still playing the hell out of it, with more games on my radar that I am looking forward to adding to my collection. I may get a PS5 when it gets cheaper, a better looking model comes out, or my PS4 is damaged beyond repair, but for now, I'll still with the good ol' Pro.

Gotta love buying/collecting SO MANY great games at the absolute cheapest prices. I literally have an arsenal of banger PS4 titles that'll last me forever. Highly recommend doing a SSD hard drive swap because it's supers easy and quick. I got 4TB in mine and it's been the best upgrade. Nice cheap gem worth playing that doesn't get enough love is Nioh/Nioh 2...but there are so many hidden gems. This console saved Sony, hands down... *LONG LIVE THE PS4‼️* 🔥🤘💯

My favourite PS4 special editions are the 2 different days of play ones, especially the blue and gold one, the 500 million special edition (I got one) and the PS1 anniversary model.

PS4 is a top tier console, regardless of issues like C-bomb (resolved through software update) or issues from late 7th gen onwards like unfinished games or day one DLC, it has so many zinger games. I like weird jrpg’s and the western RPG’s that aren’t Witcher or Dragon Age Inquisition, stuff like Bards Tale, and indie platforms, Metroidvania. PS4 has been great to collect these games for physically. Some of my coolest, and most generally underrated games physically in my collection are PS4.
Zanki Zero - survival post apocalyptic grid based jrpg with aging and reincarnation mechanics. A unique game.
Blasphemous - gorgeous, souls-like metroidvania
Cloudpunk - cyberpunk floating car delivery driver simulator - what? Has a nice physical release
Record of the Lodoss War : Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth - metroidvania with the best name ever? Based on the oldschool D&D campaign inspired anime.
PS4 is great for people who love those iconic “Sony” type AAA games. It’s great to play this generation’s multiplats. Best system for JRPG’s since the Vita and 3DS, excluding that, since PS1 and PS2. Good system for 2d platforms. Great for Metroidvania. Great for people who still like physical releases. Back in 2013 it was looking like it would be a dead generation but since like 2016 (I guess??) it’s been pretty cool.
There’s also tonnes of really cheap games, and lots of the niche physicals were cheap upon release at least. JRPG’s were also cheap at release. Some are still really cheap.
I did spend mega money (£700) on a boxed, new PS4 pro “500 million” special edition, translucent blue, but it’s my first and only PS4 and I waited for years. Could’ve got it for £500 but didn’t have the money back then. I’ve always been a big collector of consoles and especially translucent blue stuff. Translucent blue N64 is my absolute favourite.

The 500 Million Edition PS4 Pro was 2tb out of the box. Sold two of them recently for $1200 each, though. So pricey.

I’m glad I take care of my electronics but the system has worked out great since the cleaning and I’m glad to be an owner of a PS4 again.
I may even hold out for PlayStation six because I consider PS5 a complete and total disaster.

Btw the PS4 is super easy to upgrade the internal drive on and storage is really cheap these days. You just need a 2.5" laptop drive.
Personally when I need a 2.5" drive, I grab Seagate backup plus slim 2TB external at Walmart for 60 and shuck them. Cheapest way to get a new drive and you also get a USB 3.0 to SATA enclosure. I have like 5 from modding 360's lol.
An SSD is an option but I think only Pro's benefit from having it internal. Alternatively you could go bigger and get a 4tb hard drive for under 100

I have a large physical ps4 collection. But for the most part I buy smaller indie games or older ports or remasters. Or game of the year editions/ later releases of the same game with updates on disc. Or games that I know when servers are down I can throw the disc in and not worry about it .

PS4 is worth owning for bloodborne alone. Best souls game ever made and one of my top 5 games of all time.
A downside to the ps4 though imo is the controller. A lot of people will disagree with me there and maybe it's just the shape of my hands, but it's the most awkward feeling Playstation controller to me. Always felt like my hands were sliding off it and I could never get a proper grip. The dualsense though has to be my favorite controller of all time. Wish sony would let you play with them on ps4.

I got a ps4 slim in 2018 and then sold it to get a pc in 2020. My family earlier this year got a ps5 and they just handed me the old og ps4. Runs great after putting an ssd in it and I plan on getting new thermal paste before I start playing exclusives like spiderman and last of us

I love my ps4. I have a ps4 pro as well but coz that’s CIB I’ve kept it packed away and I’m happy to rock my original ps4 that I picked up for next to nothing as it was overheating. Just stripped it down, cleaned it all out, cleaned out the heat sink and applied new thermal paste. Works good as new, god of war,uncharted 4 and shadow of the tomb raider r my favourite titles

So I’m relatively new to understanding patch notes and drm, if down the line Sony shuts down servers, as long as I have game patches installed and on either a interval or external bar drive are they safe as long as I don’t uninstall them?

I got my PS4 in 2016 on black friday, last one on the shelf at Target which I thought was strange. Also bought Uncharted 4 and Fallout 4. Two of my favorite franchises from Bethesda and Naughty Dog.

I was lucky to score a Death Stranding PS4 Pro for $150 honestly it's pretty sweet and I haven't had this urge to get a PS5. Honestly the way things have been going PS4 might be my last console game system, PC have done amazing things with mini PCs that can run pretty much everything and even low settings on PC look better than PS4. For collectors PSVR is a must because PSVR is the only console that has physical VR games, Moss VR is that one title I slept on when it was $25 now used it can go for $60 or more.

If I could find one for wicked cheap, I'd probably pick it up. The indie titles are mostly what I'd be interested in. I do have a few of the limited edition controllers I found for a good price, but I can use those on other hardware including PC. I've been using the PS4 controller on my PS2 in my living room setup, which is pretty sweet. I've missed out on most generations over the last two decades, so the backlog is growing...

I too have the OG PS4 500gb. I use a 2 TB external HD to store my games. Love this system. I even replaced the original HD due to a failure. Had to get bios on a USB drive, tear it apart and replace. Got it working and I was so proud, considering using just youtube videos. That made it even more personal to me. Great vid guys!

Great video. I've really warmed up to the PS4/Xbox One generation. So much so I think its where I am going to stay until late in the PS6s life cycle. I picked up both a PS5 and Series X....but not to play new games....to play games from the PS4/Xbox one era with faster load times from the SSDs and Quick Resume on xbox.
As far as I'm concerned I'm content until end of next gen (PS6 era). Long live gaming off the grid!

The PSVR is fun. I enjoy it for survival horror games but it’s so nausea inducing. The Oculus is a step above.

I am all over the place when it comes to video games. I am way older than most of the folks here in the video game community but in my opinion the PS4 could go down as one of the best ever consoles. I think it kinda hinges on the games and the ability to download the updated patches but if that shakes out the game library is amazing. But right now it has one helluva library of amazing games! 🍻Cheers!

This video was great, and timely for me. I am an OG gamer from the 80’s. NES and all that. Now 42, a homeowner, full time job and two kids in last two years gaming time is rare. But, I love games and there’s a lot I want to play. I have accepted not getting PS5 and that generation. Maybe PS6 if/when kids are into it whenever it comes out. Maybe a different console then. I didn’t get PS4 until 1.5-2yrs after it’s release. Was very much enjoying 360 still. I still do. Now PS5 out two years and there’s zero FOMO because there are so many 360 games I want to play, let alone PS4 games - so many great high quality games! And games from those machines I want to replay! I get peer pressure as a kid and FOMO that comes with that. But as an old fart there’s none and it’s great cuz as you said I can get amazing games for smokin dirt cheap prices!

I was a PS2 gamer but switched to Xbox during the 360 era in 2005 to present, but when I got my series X I was able to do a direct trade of my old Xbox one X for a PS4 slim and 4 games at a used electronics store, so I've been enjoying exclusives I missed on like spiderman, uncharted, days gone and infamous. Spiderman and Miles morales are my favorites so far

After I sale my PS4 Slim in 2021 because I buy a Series X, I miss it because I doesn’t own a PS5 and I realized, that the ps5 isn’t interesting enough to pay 550€. In Nov '22 I walked in a Electronic Store and there was a lot of original from Sony refurbished OG PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. I decided to buy the PS4 Slim with 500 GB. It cost 180€ with an original and new controller and one year warranty. I've always found the Slim to be the best PS4 because it's the quietest and still performs very well overall. Since then I've been catching up on some PS4 exclusive games I missed back then and can even still play some new releases like GoWR. I know that 2023 is the end of the PS4's time. When it does, I'm going to get a PS5 Slim. I'm sure Sony will announce it in 2023. As soon as it costs around 350€, I'll buy it. I can wait.

In all seriousness, I don't see the reason for PS5 just yet. The only exclusive I would like to play are Destroy All Humans 2 remake, and the expanded experience of Cyberpunk 2077 since CDPR announced all the anime and future updates will be next gen. Sunset will probably just be exclusive to Ps5 or higher sadly 🤬

Love my ps4 and vr. Definitely play more on the normal side, but vr adds a ton. Rush of blood, iron man, skyrim and doom 3 vr edition are all highly recommended from me. My paranormal activity game, still in the wrapper. I may be a war vet, but my courage has its limits

The PS5, at least to me, feels more like a PS4 "Super Pro" seeing how most of the games that you can play on PS5... ARE ON PS4! There's exclusives obviously, but the list is not nearly as big as all the third-party games you can play on it. It's a good console, but not really that exciting. Plus, it doesn't help that getting a PS5 is like Mission Impossible, even years after its launch.

Imo no....PS5 is worth it...but the PS4 prices don't make sense right now at this point...Xbox one still makes sense though you can pick one up at a pawn shop for like 80 bucks all day and for a extra 10 you can get that game pass ultimate shit and be playing all kinds of games all under 100$

PS4 Pro + Crucial 1TB MX500 SSD inside and all is well still! No lag on dashboard and game load times are massively reduced.
PS4's UI blows the awful PS5 UI out of the water.

My 4Tb ps4 hard drive is barely enough, 2TB xbox hard drive isn’t enough. Yeah storage is a big must have. I wish they would hurry up and make 4TB M.2 for the ps5 because I already know the 2TB option isn’t gonna be enough and I don’t want to take the faceplates off more than I already have too.

I love the PS4 library. So many superb games.
But unless you are getting a really good deal i would skip the PS4 Pro. Save your pennies for the PS5. The full backwards compatibility just gives you a quieter, faster loading and more powerful PS4 pro. The faster load times are a huge quality of life improvement

My ps4 slim is a great solid machine. I have a 4tb hard drive and tons of games. It’s a workhorse. Just got a ps5 last week. HYPED!!! NOW is the time to pick up cheap ps4 games

Need a pro to mod, not huge fan of ps5 besides controller. I have a slim and original both well alive for 5 years. I had the white destiny one and it yellow led flashed no hdmi signal after 2 years.
Still have my ps3 modded as well but it is my original has about 8 years or so.

I got the 1 tb original PS4 at GameStop back in the day. I was salty bc I bought the console only version and the ps4 pro came out like less than a month later. Oh, well I still rock it and I use the PSVR all the time.

I had the launch ps4 pro and upgraded to the ps5 because the loud fan noise and most of my friends upgraded. I would of kept the ps4 but the fans is just a down grade from the ps5 I don’t see the point of keeping it longer than 2 more years because it maybe not work like the guy mentioned
