Hey man. Just gotta say I've been stuck on this solo for a while. Just couldn't get the shape and rhythm of it. Your video helped me get through it. I have a bit of practice to get it tidy. You're a legend. Keep it up!!!
Great tutorial. I play this song with solo regularly in a live set, clearly I've missed a few important details. It amazes me how Eric could ever have created such a solo in the first place. Hugely creative and perfect for the song. Thanks so much.
Jon Great Lesson...Learned it in a matter of days...One thing that was very helpful to coordinate with "your detailed lesson". "The Tab for this great song is on U tube"...which made getting the sequence of notes to the solo MUCH EASIER. Thanks again. Learning the rhythm i.e. the chord sequence in accompanying video was extremely helpful, the best, the way you broke down the beats of each chord to the bar.. along with the base line.. Root notes. Very clear and concise lesson Thank You..."Just a tip for singing...Nobody sings it like Stevie Winwood ... Spencer Davis Group 1966....No doubt Eric Clapton would agree....This can be accessed also on U-tube...."I was around the British Music scene at the time"
OK Jon answered my own question...From the "published tabs"...Identified all the 8 Bars from the music sheet and the respective notes of each bar...Then just plugged in the chords of the 8 bars.. posted on the top on your backing track.. Now I have the identifiable framework" of the solo"...The rest just practice ...I now know the notes that belong in which bar and their respective chords..in the 4/4 scheme of things.
Jon MacLennan Yeah, I saw the one on Fender Play, and that’s how I got to your channel! You have a new follower! I’ve been playing for almost a a year! It’s a fun (and sometimes frustrating) process! Keep posting tutorials!
Brilliant as always but please slow down the exlanations or put up chord diagrams too, Youre a star we are just pebals onthe beach destperately trying to get some fingerboard runs like you..not easy!
I was just watching the arms concert have ever love a woman and in the of the song when he was in the key of C and the change goes to D but in this time the caption says G....?..and you can't comment on it to say it's wrong so explain I don't get it

JON I learned the solo (ALL THE NOTES)...YOU NEED to PLAY the solo over the BACKING TRACK To be able to teach, and for us to learn the transitions of the solo over the 7 harmonic bars.. This would make learning it much easier..."Get lost after the 8 notes or 10? of the first bar. "That's pretty easy to do but lost in La La land after that first bar.. trying to figure things out. Clapton's live performance on U-tube his solo falls short of the classic
Thanks for clear concise instruction on this classic solo
Thank you for being part of my guitar Journey!
Awesome lesson!! Thank you
Fabulous. Again. What a great progression. Just played it at open mic, more or less successfully.

Tomas, you mentioned that the Tab is no U tube. This will be a first attempt at soloing for me. Would you identify where this Tab is.

Many thanks!!!
Glad to help!
Hey man your lessons are great!
Thank you!
Seems excellent from listening and from others comments. Do We need to go learn the pentatonic scales first or just go from this lesson?

Jeez, slow it down yourself.
Dude, love your channel and great lessons; thank you for the content you put together; well on your way to 50k subs.
Great vid! Thanks. Love this record too! Are you playing on a Martin? Om?
Yes Martin OM28v it’s very similar to the Clapton model just a slightly longer scale length. Thanks for your support! ✌️🎸

I can't quite figure out that last sequence from the 7 up through the 12. Is there a tab ?

good but a bit confusing at times because you dont explain all the notes
Would have got much more value if a TAB was included!
