    This is nutts....we only copy...they learned by ear from the radio.. BB put strings off a piano on the side of a Barn...nutts to have this...I liked the old world and glad I grew up in the end of it

    Great tutorial, probably the best for beginners wanting to learn playing Blues. The soundtrack with the fingerboard displayed is the greatest teaching tool. The best Clapton tutorial on You Tube, Thanks

      Started with copying Clapton Riffs back on the Disreli Gears days. Wish I had this resource. Would have saved on record needles and turntables.

      @@jfson4321 True That! I remember well the first 3 Cream records. Fresh, Disreli & Wheels...& the natural progression & the improvements across the board! Cut my teeth on those discs & learned a great deal about basic pentatonic riffs across the fretboard. At the same time I was doing the same thing with the respective Hendrix discs! In the grand scheme if
      things I learned a great deal about tone, timing & textures, adding 'color' to your notation, if you will. I had laid- out a solid foundation upon which I could build my playing & songwriting abilities!

      This is the perfect place for people who have memorized scales and don't know what to do next. Nobody else explains it and puts in your eyes like this on the entire web. I'm so close to improvising fluency, and it's super exciting.

      @@MattSteeves Yes sir.. After open chords, I made a point to memorize the pentatonic and the roots. Stuff like this channel is taking me to were I wanna go. I only know like 2 songs lol, but I rather learn to improvise first.

    How do you only have 93k subscribers. One of the best guitar channels on youtube IMO. The software you use for the colored fingerings on the fretboard is one of the best in the space.

    The guitar you used on this video is the real Strat. I bought one before I did not have a clue what I was doing still don't know what I'm doing but it sounded great .Strat all the way.     This is exactly the pattern I visualize on the fretboard when playing blues orientated music. However, I don't sound as good as Clapton.

    I’m learning the guitar.
    I’m having fun discovering how the notes and scales work. I used to play the marimba, vibraphone, chimes and bells in middle/high school band.
    It’s very similar in my brain to how those work. I also took music theory in high school. It’s a lot of familiar knowledge that I’m utilizing now

    this is not very complete ! the right hand ? binaire or ternaire ? your phrasing ternaire why dont you talk about it ? youre to obsessed by your left hand ! but playin the guitar is with two hands ! you just forgot it !

      yeah i agree, good lesson but not complete. the right hand is doing a lot of work in producing the overall sound. i can play the riff and it sounds similar but the speed is no where near the same. There seems to be a whole other technique to the right hand that isn't even mentioned.
