I try to play the Eric Clapton in the keys they were written, rather than do them in keys which suit my vocal range better. Having said that the vocals are perfectly acceptable. You trying to be a singer or a guitarist ?

I learned the D7 chord in 1958 my first song...I learned the Dm chord in 2020...could never figure it out in 1966...Not much material to learn by.in those days. Not only can I play this song.. learning it "a few days ago"...but took me 3 days to learn the solo ( Clapton/s Tabs on the net)...This is what brought me BACK PLAYING after so many years. As now a Patron, you got a lot of material that I want to get into. San Francisco Bay Blues that Clapton did was easy, played that on stage 1966..."The blues and up and down fretboard Total mystery They were just learning around the London Scene. .It's a lot of fun playing again.. Thanks
Just discovered your lessons Joe I am a 52 year old guitar player singer who hasnt picked his guitar up in a long while due to years of other pressing family responsibilities. In my twenties I did a lot of gigs and I am determined to have a go again before its too late. You remind me of guys back in Liverpool I used to jam with and learn from when you did your utmost to watch other peoples fingers and try and suss things out. TH-cam has made things a lot easier since then, thanks for sharing this.

Joe thank you very much for your tutorials, there are many on the internet , but I like your way of teaching. for example you name every string and position you're playing, I like that because it's not always clear to see, especially with the solo. so again many thanks
Win XL, thanks for taking the time to comment I really appreciate your feedback. Glad it helped. Its only when people comment that I can better understand what works.
Joseph Murphy You're welcome Joe, I really appreciate your lessons, the unplugged album is one of my favorites, and I always wanted to learn these numbers, and now thanks to you I will

I would need quite a bit of interest to do this as it's another time consuming thing. If I get chance I will take a look and get back to you. Don't forget to subscribe ;)

@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons I can play all the parts now but getting up to tempo is another thing. Tuff song, I have been playing for quite awhile and I think it is really hard to get the fingers to do what I want on this one.
I'm sure you will get it sorted mate, take your time and enjoy. Agreed, great album, I have done quite a few from it now, so hopefully plenty to keep you busy. All the best.
The walk up to F from Dm is cool but when you play the sharp it sounds like you leave out the high E string. You already have the F# on the fourth string. Just a currently difficult part for me. Great lesson, Joe,!
Killer video for for a Clapton enthusiast... the chords are easy enough BUT the right hand is important too and so is timing... could use a bit more attention and focus there (constructive criticism here). Keep the Clapton lessons coming. How about "Hey Hey"???
Excellent job! Thx for the solo. Much appreciated. Its hard to find a good ‘Ramblin on my mind’ tutorial. It would be much appreciated if you could do an Eric Clapton version of it. Thanks man!
i did not see that singing coming... amazing!
