Zenos asking why you haven't killed the Endsinger yet is my favorite moment in the whole game. When nobody else does, Zenos believes in you. Even if it is a belief based on how much he wants to fight you.
For real. He finds you at the end of the universe, confronting the embodiment of a thousand thousand worlds' nihilistic despair, and he's genuinely just confused as to how you haven't kicked its ass yet.
@@peen2804 Not really. The Scions were still worried about you when you teleported them away. Zenos in the meantime is just straight up confused on why you haven't trounced Endsinger yet. Guy believed in you so much he didn't even entertain the thought of you losing.
@@DawnAfternoon I don’t know how to tell you this, but you can believe in someone and still acknowledge their humanity and mortality. I’ve seen so many people try to say the scions just see the wol as a weapon( which has been disproven since like hw), and now people think them worrying about your health and safety means they don’t have faith in you. The inn room cutscenes weren’t just fan service, it was all the scions telling you that it is unfair for you to do things on your own when you can rely on them too. You also forget that Zenos didn’t see the wol almost die to the light in shb like all the scions did, so his faith in you is more blind.
If all he wanted was a rematch, he would have just attacked us. What he really wanted was for us to enjoy it too. The first, last, and only act of kindness he ever managed.
I still get goosebumps after the Elpis blooms appear and that music hits with Hermes' first words. The Warrior of Light could have created anything in their mind and they took a gamble on reaching Meteion's heart, to prove to her there's still hope within her. And that was how reaching through the despair was possible. "You cannot reach despair with hope" but if there's still hope within to begin with... Also, since every one of these reactions needs someone to mention it: I love after "Light the way" how the music changes. It's no longer Endsinger's boss music, it's the WARRIOR OF LIGHT'S BOSS MUSIC.
Also note the cuts showing the Scions praying for the success of their friend. And contrast them with the cuts of the Scions when they were praying to the Twelve to seal Bahamut in Dalamud again, way back in the very first cutscene of ARR when Louisoix fought against the dragon. The Scions may have changed in members, the original ones grown in character, but as you'll see when you compare the cuts the ideals of the Scions remain as they ever were. As it began so does it end, with fervent hope and belief in a brighter tomorrow granting protection and power to one willing to stand against those who would destroy that future.
I saw zenos as our 4th wall mirror to ourselves who struggled thru all the raids and extreme trials. We are reminded that Zenos is our mirror who we may or may not deny. Every time I watch one of these reactions to the final bit of the Endwalker MSQ, I am just reminded again that Emet-Selch is one of the best written characters I've ever encountered... not just in video games, but in fiction period. Everything about him makes sense in the context of the story and he is beyond compelling. The fact that he rejects a final "reconciliation" and maintains that his choices were correct in his own mind is the perfect ending to his arc. For him to cry for "redemption" would undermine everything his character had been up to that point. Just fantastic.
He's the very embodiment that things are never black or white, that everyone is capable of terrible acts after so much suffering, and that it can be eeeeeextremely complicated sometimes. Imo he didn't need "redemption" as much as he needed a new start, 12 000 years of suffering is a long time. Hell I even guessed Zenos would help way early in the story before I even got to that point. I can't tell if the writers expected you to feel sorry for him at the end but I didnt, he deserved to die. He was a terrible person throughout his entire life, death was to easy for him. Dont get me wrong I liked Zenos as a villain and loved his character. I just can't feel sorry for him or sad he died
As shallow as Zenos was as a Character, he was great. I look forward to see how the story goes on with him (or his Reaper Avatar)
If Zenos was so shallow then why is he the first one to realize life's true meaning in the msq?
ACT on CONCERN
I took option 2. I was tired of him.
REACT TO 6.1 STRUMMER SMADGE
I chose the second option and am not ashamed to say it. The first one was too edgy (in the cringe sense) and out of character for me.
Xenos your char IS azem well 8 shards of azem at least source azem + rejoinings that happened azem fragments + alberd who was also a shard of azems soul.
You can't let him find that out for himself if/when he plays the ShB MSQ?
I didn't even think 🤔 it was possible you could have all Tanks 🤣🤣🤣
53:32 hahahahahaha
he chose "its over meteion"? unsubbed.
ded
sad.
Your chat is worse than Asmon's . Holy fuck ....
I love that he doesn't like Zenos - I viewed him as just as shallow and boring. He got a bit better as they tried to make his story and motives more interesting, but I really didn't care about him either way. I didn't like any of the options for his fight. I didn't want to fight him at all and would have been happy to leave him there miserable.
ok lol
You would not be smart to leave such a loose end untied my friend
You can literally leave without fighting him. It doesn't matter what you say in the cutscene you can still decide to just turn away from him and take the route Meteion leaves you to follow.
Xenos didn't deserve nor earn final fight of the arc-priviledge. No.
