"Touched by Moonlight", "In The Balance", and "Footfalls", please!! All three took us players by such surprise and are universally loved! "Footfalls" is a long one, very involved, so it might need its own video.
I'd suggest Footfalls with the caveat of also listening to the other FF14 expansion songs. ARR with Answers, Heavensward and its song as well as Stormbloods with him having already listened to Shadowbringers. Footfalls is a beautiful melding of all of them as a celebration of everything FF14.
I’d highly recommend listening To the Edge, being probably my favorite song in the entire game, especially with the story behind it in game and in reality
@@ShikiRyougi05 The IRL implications in the song are really powerful too, when you know the conditions in which it was composed. Really hammers home the loneliness and the feeling of being pushed to the edge.

Btw that's not just any Violin solo, that's the overworld theme "Eternal Wind" from Final Fantasy 3. Edit: Soken loves to use motifs from past FF in FF 14 and the way he sometimes weaves several motifs in one track is so good.
the Violin part from Shadowbringers is "Eternal Wind" from FFIII is the "overworld" theme or the main theme of that series, made by Uematsu back in the day.
As a violionist you will definitely enjoy "Rhythm of the Realm" and "Dedicated to Moonlight". I've seen someone mention "Return to Oblivion" and I agree its an AMAZING track, though I recommend you listen to "Footsteps in the Snow", "Oblivion" and "Return to Oblivion" in that order since they kinda belong together and share a bunch of motifs.
Yeah, FFXIV loves its leitmotifs, to the point that many of the player playerbase's favorite and most recommended tracks are really best experienced after hearing like 2 to 5 earlier ones.
There's so much good FFXIV music. It's hard to pick babies, but three I'd like to recommend off the top of my head are "Close in the Distance" (there are several variations of this, make sure it's the full one), "Return to Oblivion", and "Voidcast Savior". The last one is a remake of a battle theme from FF4, so if you played FF4, it might tickle your nostalgia bone.
Also for "Close in the Distance" there is a community version that you could watch after the full version, it really resonated with the community and over 1000 people contributed to the community version.
@@LionmightOfficial For future reaction videos, my friend - I recommended checking out "Flow", which is one of the main theme of FFXIV sung by the wonderful Amanda Achen(trust me, that song is one of the best VG songs that I've ever listen to!) Also, there was an "Endwalker" medley from my friend Husky by the Geek that was just released, and I think you should check it out as well(it has a lot of great melodies in it, and a special surprise at the end...)
Oh, I love how you featured Equilibrium! It's one of my favourites, yet also one of the least covered ones generally. The lyrics were written on a very short notice but they paint such an eerie picture, and the strings just make you feel that eerie sadness, but also a tranquility. It's a song of balance, even if it's twisted you still feel that calmness.
Here I am, letting you know I want more. Incredible video, as always. Always fun to get a peek into the workings of professional music, especially in a series so near and dear to the hearts of many, myself included. #firstiekins

E-Scape would be a fantastic track to see you cover, especially for the very triumphant sounding breakdown halfway through. that part always gets my heart racing!
The thing that is worth knowing about Soken's skills is that he is basically the equivalent to a polyglot of music. The man has written some of the best musical pieces in gaming history in more genres than i think anyone in history. There's composers who have a specific style that they can make better music than Soken in, but very few of them can match his ability to compose music in as many genres as Soken and even fewer, if any, can compose at the same quality in as wide of a spectrum as Soken.
What timing and joy! Lionmight reaction and analysis of my favorite game's soundtrack just one day before the newest expansion Dawntrail early access opening on Friday. Just hearing Shadowbringers Main Theme brought all my emotions flooding through my body with eyes swelling bringing back beloved memories on why I love Final Fantasy XIV so so much. Not only is FFXIV it's own unique entry into the FF series but many of FFXIV's soundtracks is an amalgamation and tribute to the entire Final Fantasy series as you have begun to notice. With that said, even the godfather of Final Fantasy Sakaguchi is deeply in love with FFXIV. To parapharse "FFXIV is like a Disneyland of 35 years of Final Fantasy history." I totally understand FFXIV not clicking with you. The game didn't click with me when it first launched. I came around 7 years later to try FFXIV again; only because I had so much free time during the pandemic. I am so happy I gave FFXIV another shot otherwise I would have never got to experience the deeply engaging story, character comradery, laughs, tears, the outstanding music by Masayoshi Soken, and most important of all, the friends I made and wholesome community. So yes, of course, I would love to hear more of your reactions to other FFXIV songs!!
There's so much amazing music in the Final Fantasy series, and XIV is no exception. Unique to it, though, is that so much of it is referential, to both earlier FF's and it's own themes. It's reflective of its story, which also draws from earlier FF's. Even if you haven't played those games though, both the music and the story stand well on their own.
This version of Shsdowbringers is actually a mix of three other songs, to be used for the trailer fir shadowbringers. It is a mix of Tomorrow and Tomorrow (this song makes us cry.) The last boss' music Eternal wind, a callback to a past final fantasy game to represent an area/person in the story. There are an overwhelming number of songs in ffxiv. You could make videos for years...
Ah, the rabbit hole you've opened up by doing FFXIV, the requests will never end (especially due to just how many banger tracks exist from it, Soken is an absolute legend at this point), but also dropping it on us litteral hours away from a brand new expansion launch with everyone eagerly waiting the servers to come back on. Whilst i normally dont give suggestions as to any FFXIV (i can already see so many having done so and you'd almost always get repeat suggestions), there's one i haven't spotted at a glance through and thats 'The Extreme', a remake/remaster of Ultimecia's theme from FFVIII, and considered by quite a few as the best rendition of it (no offense to the original meant, just the audio quality and limitations are no longer there)
I've never really understood the Final Fantasy franchise nor have I played the majority of the games, but I just recently played Kingdom Hearts from the Remix edition and now I want to get into learning the series.
@@LionmightOfficial That’s a shame because FF14 also pulls music from other games with crossovers or setting. literally having bosses from the older games for instance such as the Four Fiends.
What's worth keeping in mind is that there's no overall storyline to the games themselves, though some games have spinoffs. So e.g. you don't need to play 6 or 7 to play 8, each game has different gameplay, themes and aesthetics. So FF9 has a completely different vibe compared to FF8, and FF10 is very different again.
@@LionmightOfficial it arguably has one of the best RPG stories in the world via Shadowbringers expansion and the overarching story that culminates on Endwalker’s main story tying up 10 years of story from the start of the game. It had a great community and great music. Fun and interesting raids and dungeons as well as exciting Trials bosses. So that’s why it’s a shame the game doesn’t grasp you as miss out in these experiences. That being said “a couple hours” for a game which is easily 300 hours, IF you skip all the cutscenes, to reach the end game. Is not really a fair shot imo when it comes to MMOs. I don’t think you even reach the crux of the story where you meet the main cast of characters yet by that point? FF14 is a final fantasy game first MMO second. The RPG story is the main focus of the game and they’re made it easier to experience it with as little human interaction as possible with NPC dungeons now The FF community loves people experiencing it and are disheartened when people can’t find themselves enjoying it of arbitrary because we know how great the story is
This came across my feed today and wanted to thank you for giving these a listen! I personally recommend the following from FFXIV: "I Am The Sea", "Breaking Boundaries", "A Father's Pride", "Cradle of Hope", "Heroes", "Miracle Works", "Seven Hundred Seventy-Seven Whiskers", "Thunderer", "The Seventh Sun (Endwalker)", and "The Maker's Ruin"/"With Hearts Aligned". Most of them are purely instrumental, and that's exactly why I would love to see a rundown of them :3 Thank you so much for leaning your ears towards Eorzea!
I see quite a bit of good suggestions to take a look at. If I might throw some into the ring for later. The themes of Pandemonium: "Ancient Shackles", "Hic Svnt Leones", "Scream", "Embers", "White Stone Black", "One Amongst the Weary", "Fleeting Moment", "Athena the Tireless One" and "Ultima's Perfection(Endwalker)". Yes, that last one is a remix of a FFT theme
I'd recommend listening to The Black Wolf Stalks Again, Answers, Smile, and What Angel Wakes Me. Some of my favorite songs in the game.

Not that FFXIV is one of the best game OSTs of all time, but its story is EASILY my favorite story in all of fiction. (Specifically Shadowbringers & Endwalker expansions) And that's coming from someone who grew up on FFVII and it was my favorite game prior to FFXIV. If you ever find time in life, I suggest you give it a try. FFXIV's story literally changed my life. It's the story I cried to the most, and I'm not someone who cries easily. lol
@@LionmightOfficial Yeah, I'm a touring musician so I completely get it. I too only play when new expacs relaese, just to enjoy the story & then cancel my sub after, since I barely have any time. Happy you'll be experiencing some amazing OST though!
Definitely got to throw in a few jazzy ones like "Anamnesis Anyder" and "Akadaemia Anyder". You could throw a dart at a board of all the songs and it'll for sure land on something good.
I first know you from your cover on Ragnarok songs, my most favorite game during my childhood, and now I see you again reacting to my favorite game in my adulthood too... God bless you, I hope you stay healthy and stay classy!
Been following you since you uploaded your cover of Cosmo Canyon on the Hegalong(not on same account I'm on now...lost the password to the old one xD), so glad to see you finally reacting to this!!!!!!
I love this game and its ost so much, but I do wish the initial section could be reworked from the ground up again. Its so hard to get people to dedicate 100+ hours into the mediocre beginning to get to the good part of everything else (and completely understandably so). I am so glad that even despite not being able to personally get into the game, you are experiencing the teams phenomenal work on the ost!
FWIW I've only started playing a bit before EW came out, and I thought ARR was mostly fine. If there was any real criticism it'd be that the zones are a bit too small due to them trying to get stuff working on old hardware at the time, but other than that it's really just that there are a _handful_ of really annoying quests which is true for all the following expansions too (even ShB which is my favourite expansion has a couple of those). I'd say 1-10 feels very slow, but I think it's not unwarranted there are a lot of people who are completely new to MMOs. I think the game picks up a lot after the godawful Titan questline, and I thought the 2.x patch stories were actually really good.
I have to agree with the others here, I think there are so many more absolutely spectacular tracks from FF14 you'd love listening to. As a player of the game myself for several years, the developers absolutely *nailed* the atmosphere of the game through their clear expertise of the power of music. The fact you started with the Shadowbringers main theme is great, it's regarded as one of the best tracks in FF14 overall by a lot of the community. Soken is seriously a master of music. If I can provide suggestions for future videos featuring FF14 tracks, I would heavily recommend the main theme of the Heavensward expansion, followed by 'Black & White', the nighttime theme of the Coerthas Western Highlands region, which pulls inspiration from that theme. There's also the night and day themes of the main city, Ul'dah, called 'A New Hope' and 'Sultana Dreaming', respectively. Sultana Dreaming is my personal favorite track in the entire game, being the most calming and beautiful nighttime themed piece I've ever heard, frankly. Cheers!
Just keep suggesting and I will listen eventually. I have no plans to seek out the songs myself so I will rely heavily on you all, the Final Fantasy XIV fanbase. If nobody of you suggest, then I won't lift a finger.
A good thing to remember is that every single boss song is sung from the perspective of the Boss themselves. Some are big and bombastic, some heart wrenching and tragic. One I would recommend is 'To The Edge' from Shadowbringers patch content. Oh... and for tragic... 'Wayward Daughter', from Stormblood.
shadowbringers and endwalker are the only 2 songs in a very very long time that were so perfectly done for the story emotions you were feeling at the time that it literally made me cry like weep tears when i finished my playthrough a couple months ago. Started in april and finished all of story without skipping just in time for dt. Dawntrail made me cry for different reasons and not good ones XD
so cool to see you do this since I have become very acquainted with the music of this game since I am subscribed to many musical artists who cover music from this game and have grown quite fond of it myself despite not playing the game which I am scared to do honestly since I am pretty sure if I did no one would ever hear from me again but maybe one day anyway love hearing your take on both songs especially since they both have a lot of moving parts that the composer Soken has put together so incredibly well, honestly it is quite staggering and you totally appreciate most of it which is great to hear, in fact in that first song you pointed out the great violin playing which I agree with and since I am such a nerd of the music of the final fantasy series I recognized it as the song eternal wind from ff3 which is so cool how it is put in there and sounds so natural, and in that second song I don't think I ever noticed before the bassline that sounds so similar to the one used in chrono cross, that was cool to have pointed out to me along with where the percussion comes from, you just always point out such cool things which makes these videos so much fun to watch! also those 2 violin solos that you did for both songs sounded especially cool and hope those become full covers one day!
It’s always wonderful to hear the responses of musical talent, it gives me a better appreciation for the songs. I have some favorites myself. Some include: “Mortal Instants”, “Invincible”, “Close in the Distance”, and “Of Countless Stars”. Just to name a few among so many! Cheers! Edit: Grammar.
"Hic Svnt Leones" "Scream" and "Athena, the Tireless One" are a three songs that build off of each other. The lyrics for all of them go HARD so i'd recommend finding a video with those in it, especially for tireless one.
Brother, you NEED to see the community medley pieces made by Huskybythegeek. Not only as a musician but as a person who makes videos for TH-cam. He has literally hundreds of contributions edited and mixed into the video, one came out a few days ago to send off Endwalker. 300 musicians/contributions in a single video.
Fair enough, the well is deep and rich for FFXIV. The community videos do show how much love there is for the game and it's music. There's SO much to sink your teeth into with 14. Look up Dedicated to Moonlight and In the Balance. Music from some Endwalker Alliance raids (24 player raids).
@@LionmightOfficial To be fair, Husky's covers aren't your run-of-the-mill covers. They're widely loved by the FF14 community not just for the amount of production time and effort that goes into them, but also for how he highlights various content creators in the community. I do agree though, definitely worth listening to the original songs before going to covers. Some other recommendations would be "Close in the Distance", "Locus", "Rise", and "Dedicated to Moonlight". Obviously there are tons, but these are some of the cooler and more impactful songs that come to mind for me.
@@RianaFelblade my real intent on the suggestion wasn't really for a reaction or analysis video, more just as an insight into the love the community has for it, and the impact of the music to the game as a whole. It seems it wasn't taken that way but the way I worded it was poor.
@@Rushifell No no, you're good. I definitely agree that the community covers like that really do convey how much we all care about the game. You're 100% right about that.
The first part of the Shadowbringers theme song is taken from another song in the game called "Tomorrow and Tomorrow", if you want to hear the full version of that song. I would also recommend listened to some of the following as well in addition to many of those mentioned below: The Long Fall (this is the song that become a total meme), Dedicated to Moonlight (has an insane violin solo), Endcaller, and Flow.
There are so many songs in FFXIV. Open world with day and night variants, dungeons which may share leitmotifs from open world songs, and boss battles galore. One boss song even goes through all the other Big Boss themes, singing a tale of of your past triumphs. If I knew what kinds of music you love, I could throw in some suggestions beyond "Pilgrimage" for a truly ethereal vibe. "Flow" also tugs at the heartstrings if you want to hear more from the soprano who sang the Shadowbringers opener.
Its interesting that you mentioned the rock section representing ruggedness, the trailer for this expansion showed the story's character in such a state, walking through a desolate land looking beaten and worn down at the very moment the rock section started to play
It's almost such a missed opportunity when people react to the ffxiv main themes without the trailers. I understand wanting experience it without context but those cinematics are just...so damn amazing. I hold shadowbringers in high regard especially. It's probably the best video game trailer of all time.
If you're going to be doing this again for FFXIV, please look at the vibe/emotional differences between different songs using the same melodies as well! For example, the songs "Full Fathom Five", "Neath Dark Waters", and "To the Edge" are all technically built off the same base (and are all fantastic, I highly recommend them)! But for other songs to analyze that are similarly all using the same melody, perhaps the various versions of the song "Close in the Distance". There's like 4 or 5 different versions. But the thing with this one is that every version is the same but with a new set of instruments added on. Not really *different* like in the way the previous three songs I mentioned were.
I stumbled upon this video as I'm a FFXIV player and I love the OSTs so much and I've been wondering where have I seen you before. Then I remembered: Ragnarok Online. It's Master Diwa ahhhh!😄
If you're taking FFXIV recommendations, I particularly like 'Scream' and 'Metal - brute justice'. While I understand that you prefer in game tracks, The Primals are an official band for the game containing a couple of the development team, including Masayoshi Soken. They do some wonderful covers of thier own songs including my preferred version of 'Metal - brute justice'. Thanks for the video.
I'd be down for hearing your thoughts on more songs from FFXIV if you have the time. I haven't played in a while, but Leviathan's theme goes pretty dang hard.
Oh gosh. There’s so many excellent songs in XIV that I would hardly know where to begin. “Rise” is a good one, along with “On Blade’s Edge”. “Dedicated to Moonlight” is another excellent piece.
DT early access AND a XIV ost reaction in the same day? What is this, my birthday? Also, some tracks I would HIGHLY recommend would be To the Edge, Scream, Twice Stricken, Insanity, the Heavensward main theme, The Worm's Tail, Invincible... damn there's SO MANY
I gotta recommend 3 songs The black wolf stalks again/Emerald weapon theme. Scream. And Tomorrow and tomorrow. Great video and i hope you enjoy the other ff14 songs you listen to... I love this game so much
I would very much love to see more XIV music I recommend “triumph”, “in the balance” “footfalls” and “open sky” (also called "Dawntrail") as really great tracks
i would love to see a video where you first listen to the music and then watch how it is used after. whether that be an in game cut scene, trailer, or boss battle. i love when music is incorporated well into the game and ff14 nails it with what they bring.
@@LionmightOfficial Well, i couldn't imagine it would take anything away from it..... Ah, maybe you mistook my comment for a suggestion? I wasn't trying to convince you to do anything, it was simply a comment.
The raid for Alexander in the Heavensward expansion is a banger. Soken beginning his journey of treating us to his mastery of leitmotifs. Locus > Metal > Metal: Brute justice mode > Exponential Entropy. Fighting Voltron robots while listening to musical Voltron robots the way all those leitmotifs are used.
Soken has said when he writes FF music he tries to stay true to the feeling that Uematsu set, while also bringing his own expertise and influences in. He's a superb composer that not many knew about until FFXIV.
I believe it was during the writing of music for Shadow Bringers that Soken wrote a lot of the music while in the hospital being treated for cancer. He's just such an amazing composer I can't think of a single track from the game that I don't like. I do think its amusing though that Rob Zombie's son threatened to sue over one of the songs. It for for the song Fiend used in the Sephirot fight. Which is also from the heavensward expansion. Sephirot(Fiend), Sophia(Equilibrium), and Zurvan(Infinity) are the main big fights from that expansion. Honestly though I'd suggest just listening to all the expansion soundtracks even if you don't do reviews for them.
Gotta love it! "Moonlit occultation" and "Flame of Hope" by Vanguard Sound Studio, they make pretty good osts for games especially Punishing Gray Raven!
I see a lot of the same suggestions for FFXIV songs so I'll go with some fan favorites that haven't been mentioned. Dragonsong The Twinning Answers Insatiable Innocence Tomorrow and Tomorrow
The church-chior sound in Equilibrium is interesting; Sophia is the manifestation of a deity from a now-defunct nation. However, Sophia cares only for balance, and the song tells a tale of how seeking balance only makes things worse - in short, the lyrics detail a family broken apart by war, and how Sophia taunts her faithful to commit unspeakable acts out of revenge. Finally, the only survivor realises that things have only been made worse and commits suicide, leading to the repeated line of "An empty hearth down by the sea."
I'd really recommend you to check some of the Pizza Tower tracks again! I got some two i really want you to check out, which are very unique because both of their time signatures are 9/8ths: 1: Oregano Ufo (Sister song to Oregano Mirage, which you already reacted to) 2:Tarragon Pizza (This one was featured in an old Demo of pizza tower, but it was kept on the game's full soundtrack as a bonus track on release).
Never got to like FFXIV before, I tried the trial and quit after a few hours. IDK what happened but I got to try again last year and damn, it seriously gets better. By the time I finished Endwalker MSQ it's on top of my list surpassing my love for Zelda and other RPGs I played. Wonderful review would love to see you review more and who knows if we'll see you playing the game and loving it someday. ❤
wwow the more he explains his thouths about eqalibrioum the more it amases me how well tthouth out the song is, i thouth i had understood it, but the coment about the tribal... i,, its so well thouth out lore whise
Try A Long Fall perhaps? That is noted as one of the most popular songs in ff14 as a whole and while its music track is easily farmed from a dungeon, its still incredibly valuable due to how popular that song is.
Everything about the EXTENSIVE FF14 soundtrack is beautiful. From newer tracks to tracks recreated from older games (Forged in Crimson, for example) are breathtaking and so shockingly amazing. I've been listening to FF music for decades and FF14 is a culmination of so much stuff, its a delight for the FF fanatic.
@@LionmightOfficial I would highly recommend finding a few tracks that originated in the early 8 and 16 bit games that got updated and used in 14. The one I used as an example is originally from FF4, called Battle with the Four Fiends. The FF14 version is so radically different and amazing, I nearly drove my car off the road the first time I heard it (accidentally listened to it before I played the game content). There has to be a list somewhere online on what older game songs make appearances. The violin solo you were appreciating is actually from Final Fantasy 3's "Eternal Wind"! The integrations like that are done so masterfully, and for someone who is familiar with the other games in the series its truly a showering of easter eggs (along with all the actual game content that also calls out to prior games). It does seem like you are familiar with some prior songs, so I may be repeating info you already know, but this is the first of your videos I have ever seen, so I don't know how deep into gaming you are.
"What a beautiful edgy & ethereal vibe..." I've only just started Shadowbringers myself, and I feel like that captures what I've seen so far quite nicely. 😂

There's composers who have a specific style that they can make better music than Soken in, but very few of them can match his ability to compose music in as many genres as Soken and even fewer, if any, can compose at the same quality in as wide of a spectrum as Soken.
I was meant to press like at the end but man, when you play your violin, I have to get out of full screen and hit the like right there. Amazing.
It is a mix of
Tomorrow and Tomorrow (this song makes us cry.)
The last boss' music
Eternal wind, a callback to a past final fantasy game to represent an area/person in the story.
There are an overwhelming number of songs in ffxiv. You could make videos for years...
Btw, the boss music is called Who Brings Shadow!
I love the mainline non-MMO entries especially 7 and 8. But no more MMOs for me.
@@LionmightOfficial
That’s a shame because FF14 also pulls music from other games with crossovers or setting. literally having bosses from the older games for instance such as the Four Fiends.
@DeeFourCee Why shame? I value my time.
The RPG story is the main focus of the game and they’re made it easier to experience it with as little human interaction as possible with NPC dungeons now
The FF community loves people experiencing it and are disheartened when people can’t find themselves enjoying it of arbitrary because we know how great the story is
One that might be interesting is "Footsteps in the snow", "Oblivion" and "Return to Oblivion" as a trio that build off each other.
Bro the Chrono Cross callout! I've seen a lot of these composer reacts but to see one with a deep cut experience with squaresoft music is really cool.
Bro busting out the flying V fiddle!
It's the story I cried to the most, and I'm not someone who cries easily. lol
No more MMOs for me.
@@LionmightOfficial Yeah, I'm a touring musician so I completely get it. I too only play when new expacs relaese, just to enjoy the story & then cancel my sub after, since I barely have any time. Happy you'll be experiencing some amazing OST though!
Yeah, an MMO is basically a second job. Anyway, happy touring!
@@LionmightOfficial Thank you! 🙏
I appreciate you showing clips of soundtracks you're pertaining to
saw that violin riff, insta sub
Definitely got to throw in a few jazzy ones like "Anamnesis Anyder" and "Akadaemia Anyder". You could throw a dart at a board of all the songs and it'll for sure land on something good.
Man, you're the absolute best. Would love to watch your journey through 14 one day.
I already juggle 3 jobs. I won't be adding a 4th.
More to come!
@@LionmightOfficial can't wait!!!!!!
When the first Song came out i listened to it for days straight on repeat. I couldn't stop :D
I appreciate the added clips of other songs to help demonstrate the references you're making (such as the drum track and the Chrono Cross sample).
I always loved that violin and guitar part. So cool.
The eternal wind part always take you by the heart, its just so good
shadowbringers and endwalker are the only 2 songs in a very very long time that were so perfectly done for the story emotions you were feeling at the time that it literally made me cry like weep tears when i finished my playthrough a couple months ago. Started in april and finished all of story without skipping just in time for dt. Dawntrail made me cry for different reasons and not good ones XD
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR REACTIONSSSS YAYYYYYYYY
so cool to see you do this since I have become very acquainted with the music of this game since I am subscribed to many musical artists who cover music from this game and have grown quite fond of it myself despite not playing the game which I am scared to do honestly since I am pretty sure if I did no one would ever hear from me again but maybe one day anyway love hearing your take on both songs especially since they both have a lot of moving parts that the composer Soken has put together so incredibly well, honestly it is quite staggering and you totally appreciate most of it which is great to hear, in fact in that first song you pointed out the great violin playing which I agree with and since I am such a nerd of the music of the final fantasy series I recognized it as the song eternal wind from ff3 which is so cool how it is put in there and sounds so natural, and in that second song I don't think I ever noticed before the bassline that sounds so similar to the one used in chrono cross, that was cool to have pointed out to me along with where the percussion comes from, you just always point out such cool things which makes these videos so much fun to watch! also those 2 violin solos that you did for both songs sounded especially cool and hope those become full covers one day!
No way I’m missing these!
Yun o!
"Hic Svnt Leones" "Scream" and "Athena, the Tireless One" are a three songs that build off of each other. The lyrics for all of them go HARD so i'd recommend finding a video with those in it, especially for tireless one.
Whenever I watch people react to the music or trailers I always end up binging the soundtrack afterward
I prefer official tracks, I've only checked out two official tracks and you're already wanting to skip to covers. Nah.
I would also recommend listened to some of the following as well in addition to many of those mentioned below: The Long Fall (this is the song that become a total meme), Dedicated to Moonlight (has an insane violin solo), Endcaller, and Flow.
violin solo in eternal wind is my favoriteee. knew you were gonna love it as a strings player :DD
You can swing a cat and always hit a banger in the MASSIVE soundtrack that is ffxiv.
It's almost such a missed opportunity when people react to the ffxiv main themes without the trailers.
I understand wanting experience it without context but those cinematics are just...so damn amazing. I hold shadowbringers in high regard especially. It's probably the best video game trailer of all time.
I don't care.
@@LionmightOfficial sry✋😳🤚
I gotta recommend Scream and Answers for music choices. I love both of them
Athena, The Tireless One is such a banger too. It's from the last boss of the Endwalker raid.
That Violin solo when it Crescendos into that high rise in tone always makes me bawl.
Let's start with the basics first as always. And if the videos are a hit, then we can go more daring.
If you like Rock, FF14 tracks I highly recommend are "Oblivion" and "Scream". Both have and older 00's era vibe and I love them so much.
I'd be down for hearing your thoughts on more songs from FFXIV if you have the time. I haven't played in a while, but Leviathan's theme goes pretty dang hard.
Shadowbringers, Footfalls, Heavensward, and the absolute Queen of them all, Answers... these tracks are absolutely unmatched.
Also, some tracks I would HIGHLY recommend would be To the Edge, Scream, Twice Stricken, Insanity, the Heavensward main theme, The Worm's Tail, Invincible... damn there's SO MANY
my favorite music channel reacting to music from one of my favorite games? it's like all my namedays have come at once!
I gotta recommend 3 songs The black wolf stalks again/Emerald weapon theme. Scream. And Tomorrow and tomorrow. Great video and i hope you enjoy the other ff14 songs you listen to... I love this game so much
I would very much love to see more XIV music
I recommend “triumph”, “in the balance” “footfalls” and “open sky” (also called "Dawntrail") as really great tracks
Please do more Final Fantasy XIV reactions, there are so many beautiful Songs left for your to hear!
Sure! What are your favorites?
'Dragonsong' is a great one, as is 'Answers.'
Oh and 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow' which is a companion song to 'Who Brings Shadow!'
Equilibirium makes me sing along to the lyrics every time I do the fight. Can't not.
i would love to see a video where you first listen to the music and then watch how it is used after. whether that be an in game cut scene, trailer, or boss battle. i love when music is incorporated well into the game and ff14 nails it with what they bring.
That's a copyright claim magnet.
The one I just suggested is the main theme "Answers", which I regard as Uematsu's finest hour.
Honestly, having all the context for Shadowbringers just makes it that much better too.
For you.
Surprised no reaction to Rak'tika Greatwood! Missed opportunity! Otherwise, amazing video... love this!
Then you should have suggested as early as last year. If no one suggests, I don't look. Do your part.
LA HEE
Soken has said when he writes FF music he tries to stay true to the feeling that Uematsu set, while also bringing his own expertise and influences in. He's a superb composer that not many knew about until FFXIV.
And here I am watching this while waiting for the release of the ffxiv new expansion Dawntrail. Only 15min left to open the servers
Ethereal vibe is also referenced by the devs as "High Fantasy".
Refulgence is a gorgeous piece if you ever want to listen to it
I recommend wrong side of heaven by five finger death punch because the story behind it is so sad but the song is so good
i LOVE violines, didnt know there are electric ones as well O_O
maybe i should really just start and learn it
SHB is my favorite expansion. The soundtrack is awesome.
"Shadowbringers" will always be Soken's Magnum Opus. Nothing compares. I never heard something like it before.
Dragonsong
The Twinning
Answers
Insatiable
Innocence
Tomorrow and Tomorrow
Liked and subbed for ffxiv!! Sooooo many good tracks!
Thanks for the sub! Would love to hear your music only suggestions.
I got some two i really want you to check out, which are very unique because both of their time signatures are 9/8ths:
1: Oregano Ufo (Sister song to Oregano Mirage, which you already reacted to)
2:Tarragon Pizza (This one was featured in an old Demo of pizza tower, but it was kept on the game's full soundtrack as a bonus track on release).
Yes!! My kababayan!! Finally you listened to FFXIV music! You also have summoned FFXIV players as well!! Enjoy Soken's music!
Would love to hear more music only suggestions.
Just send song titles. Or you can suggest using the Google Form in the description.
You must have done this on purpose to drop it right before the expansion comes out... cause good job, I'm watching it now as i wait! lol
"What a beautiful edgy & ethereal vibe..." I've only just started Shadowbringers myself, and I feel like that captures what I've seen so far quite nicely. 😂
you would LOVE darkest dungeon 2's violin (in the ost)
I ducking love this game
can i recommend "A Pall Most Murderous" and "home beyond the horizon"? they are my absolute most favorite songs from the game, and glory be from Garlemald!
