I lost my mother to cancer about a year before Endwalker. I was in a place of total despair and loneliness. Very similar to Meteion. One of my favorite things about "The Walk" is hearing from other players which Voice From The Past (if any) broke them. One detail I like about the Endsinger fight is not only is it a nice reference to FF4, but after everybody prays for your safety and Meteion comes to the realization that you can't be forced to submit to despair she panics and instead of doing confident, calculated attacks just starts flailing her wings at you frantically and screaming. It's that moment when the bad guy realizes they're about to lose.
The end of this story was so meta. Hytholdeus literally giving it a review. "it's got it all" did not go un noticed, Emit essentially teasing the next expansions, and of course Zenos' little speech. So yeah. Meta.
If you think back to when you go to the First to see Elidibus, he comments that he remembers seeing you in Elpis. At first it seems like he's making a reference to Azem's soul with his foggy memory. You never encounter him during the Elpis quest lines, and it only becomes evident he did mean you specifically with the Panda raids and when you see him there.
This reaction series was wonderful. I came in late, only started on your Endwalker journey, but it was so great following along with you. Thanks for all the videos! :D
If you weren't at the stream, do not read this until you reach the final battle: Listen to my story... This may be our last chance... Watching it back again, the G'raha Teedus reveal is still great. Keeping up the charade while on vacation wasn't easy, but I was determined to have G'raha Teedus show up just to throw Brit off from thinking I was the one behind the mask :P It's not easy moving a character in XIV through remote desktop lol. But the final payoff was worth it Signed, Stinus aka G'raha Teedus :)

I could NOT walk this without tears in my eyes and remembered everyone while I took my steps. I'm sobbing towards the end but I swear I didn't feel alone and I took everyone's words in my heart. I still do to this day.
Each quote below, followed by who said it and when (as far as I can recall). I might be wrong on some of them, as this is just from memory... sorry if so! If you need a push, I'll be right there behind you. (Ardbert; fistbump scene in the Crystarium right before we enter the Tempest) Do not despair, you are not without allies. (Haurchefant; in the "Falling Snows" room right after the ARR cutscenes, leading into Heavensward) What we have sown in blood, we have reaped in suffering, and it cannot go on. (Merlwyb; speaking about the lominsans relations with the kobolds and sahagin, post-shb patch content... I wanna say 5.4?) Upon the souls of they who have sacrificed themselves to pave the way for peace, we will *never* abandon our cause. (Aymeric; to Midgardsormr in the post-Nidhogg scene in Ishgard) While it is true that man succumbs all too often to anger and avarice, he may yet overcome his baser instincts through the forming of bonds with others. (Nanamo; to Varis in the table meeting prior to the Ghimlyt Dark) Such victories are rarely won without sacrifice, but the prize is worth the price. (Raubahn; I *think* this is right before we start our final push into Ala Mhigo) And we for our part are glad indeed to be able to welcome friends both old and new. (Kan-E-Senna; table meeting with all the Allies in Ala Mhigo, 4.4 I think, the one where Thancred gets summoned to Norvrandt) Save your tears for the morrow. You may be sure we will have ample cause to shed them, be they for joy or despair. (Hien; right before the attack on Doma Castle) From tragedy and sacrifice we rise to greet a new dawn. (Papalymo; in a Heavensward cutscene, right after our dinner with Aymeric - I did NOT place this one until I replayed the story, pretty hard catch I'd say, especially if you played ARR with JP voices like I did the first time through) A future shaped by the choices we made, in ways we could never have foreseen. (Count Edmont de Fortemps; at a guess it's in 3.1 cutscenes, near the end) Yet miracles do happen. So let us pray, and will our friends home. (Beq-Lugg; explaining to Ryne about the memory crystals we used to bring the Scions home, right after we actually do it) I won't stop praying until I know they're safe. (Ryne; responding, in the same cutscene) Strong art thou, mortal. (Midgardsormr; in Azyz Lla after we speak to Tiamat and shatter the final barriers he's put between us and our gift, conceding that we have passed his trial) Look to the light within, that you may continue to be a beacon to others. (Minfilia; from the scene in Amh Araeng where she gives her power over to Ryne and her soul finally returns to the aetherial sea) Lets finish this. (Ardbert; hilariously enough, this is from 3.4, from the cutscene right before the battle with the warriors of darkness [the one where Alisaie goes RDM for the first time with her blade of light])
I always love seeing people react to the ending of Endwalker - it's meant so much to me, and it's great to see others get so emotional about it!! Glad you enjoyed your journey - I have a lot to hopefully catch up on over time!
That background music after all you go through, is like a spear to the chest too! Don't get me wrong, music throughout this game is fantastic and it hits hard, in all the moments it's supposed to.
Your friends going silent at the beginning of The Walk was a brilliant, if cruel, touch. When I finished that part and the Scions were back, I /slapped all of them in turn, usually giving another /slap to G'raha in between, then /hugged G'raha before giving him another /slap for good measure.
I bursted into laughter when you yelled "Midgardsormr?!!" with even a sliver of confidence and happinnes in your voice xD Amazing reaction; onwards to patches!
I can't help but get a little Infinity War flash at the start of the Endsinger introduction. "You throw another moon (planet) at me and I'm gonna lose it."
Man, what a trip down memory lane. After watching these highlights after seeing them happen on-stream so long ago, I remember my own walk, which happened some time before Brit took hers. The emotions I was feeling, having lost a friend a few months prior to COVID, the same friend that got me into FFXIV during Stormblood, and the memories of all those I met because of him in a roundabout way (Brit and the Crew, not least of all)... that tore me apart and broke me, in the best ways possible. This was a great journey, but there's always more ahead! I look forward to seeing them both in chat and in-game, when I can. Sailor Bun never turns her back on her friends.
"And there may come a day when you forget the faces and voices of those you have met along the way. On that day, I bid you remember this: That no matter how far you journey may take you, you stand where you stand by virtue of the road you have walked to get there. For in times of hardship, when you fear you cannot go on, the joy you have known, the pain you have felt, the prayers you have whispered and answered, they shall ever be your strength and comfort."
Emet the true friend. Seeing "Azem"'s despair in him returning to the lifestream, he knew exactly what to say to motivate his long time friend forward before going... while still being his tsundare self to the very end.
Stand tall my friend, may our journey never end. I came in relatively late in your journey. But I've enjoyed being around since then. Thanks for having me around, however small the part may be. To many more adventures in the future. Your resident under dressed cat girl.
I just finished watching all of your journey and damn it has been full of feels ♥ I'm so glad you could have such a wonderful experience and wish you all the best for the future :)
we got there. we got here!!!! we saw you at your best, brit. panic aside, there was no worst. this journey is your best and we're here for you through it. i cant wait for more streams, games, and journeys!!
I've always wondered if Yoshi and crew could have successfully killed our character at the end, and it actually work story and gameplay wise considering this is an mmo, etc. What a twist that would have been. FF14 has a well earn reputation for doing that which seems impossible or insane, and it actually succeeding. Having said that, I am happy to have watched your journey through a story that was down right therapeutic for me. I made the journey without fanfare, without any of my friends to play it with but I knew I was not alone. That there were other people like me, like you, with different backgrounds and different lives feeling the same thing I was. My journey will stick with me for a long time. I hope you will hold it close to your heart as well. Forge ahead my fellow Warrior of Light. Our journey is not yet over.
As Emet has said while the curtain may fall on this tale, as long as people are around, there will be new stories and new roles for all to play... or something like that lol xD Thank you so much for watching!
I love FFXIV. Its the most anime ass anime nonsense ever, of all time, but it manages to be filled to the brim with heartache and elation back to back to back. We are Riding a magic space dragon after teleporting our friends to safety on a space ship made by God and crewed by moon rabbits so we can fight Despair itself to prevent the end of the multiverse. It's ABSOLUTELY REDICULUS but the FFXIV team makes the story work so damn well.
Love how Zenos is the only bastard in the universe that is so apathetic that he's just annoyed at the notion of despair and can just no sell Meteion's despair shield
The whole Ultima Thule couldve been avoided if we give him the mothercrystal and simply ask zenos to go there and kill the endsinger in exchange for the final battle
This whole expansion ripped my heart out numerous times and flaunted it in front of my crying face. But at the end when you are in the depths of despair. They throw in our three favorite Ascians. I say three cause I know Venat was there in spirit smiling.
Alisaie: "You can't leave us!" Me, role-playing a raspy voice from being at death's door: "After watching you all leave me one by one today, turnaround is fair play, bitch."
Oh god the tears... I've never cried so much from any work of media as I did in this expansion. That last fight with Zenos, though... You think it's epic now, but you need to look up a lalafell doing it. :D
Emet-Selch talked about 4 new locations and about the 12. Right now we have faced 8 out of the 12 in the new alliance raids also Meracydia might be one of the old lands of great magic like in FF2 and FF4 know as Mysidia and home of the Mysidian Rabbit we have them in FF14 as minions.
seeing this again reminded me why i went back to FFxiv, Endwalker was absolutely amazing i love everything about it till the very end of my adventures.
*hugs* I have found in my experience that something as simple as a hug helps a great deal when dealing with something heart wrenching as this, Hang in there My dear
Wanted to give you the biggest hug for the first part lol so many feels. Also glad you left out the panic attack. I remember watching at work and was quite worried since I've suffered my fair share of them before... I'm sure you slept like the dead after it was all said and done. 🤣
wasn't there live for the fight and edit cut it out, did you get the the main chorus of the song after the scions come in and buff you/shield you? most people do that fight now and the fight is over before the epic of the song kicks in due to ilvl now :( if "on wings of hope" doesnt start lost like 50% of the experience lol
I did! That part was triggering for me as I wasn't feeling the best but just publish the raw VOD on my archive channel @britkcaleylive if you'd like to go see it all the way through~ Thanks for watching!
your panic attack was telling. i mean like i had a breakdown during ultima thule. it took me 5 days to complete, when i was on vacation, and logged in. the thule, all of it, was a reliving my depression and my therapy, reliving all of that again! the zenos fight was meh, but the endsinger was like a nightmare from hell and satisfing to win in the end. when the title screen showed up, i totally lost it! endwalker was a 11/10 [beating ar to me] endwalker was the best ending to a story, and no other game or expansion comes close! emotionaly draining :D
When i got to the part with Zenos and he said the adventurer line i was just like "ya got me bro" and chose "That, i can't deny". He had me figured out from the start.
You know, it's really odd. It's such a joy to watch you cry (which sounds really mean by itself) at the same parts that I cried myself haha Watching FFXIV playthroughs is really emotional vampirism at its finest, isn't it?
Your fight with zenos.. oh no brit i hope you’re okay D: but congrats on your 6.0 journey! Now you have endwalker part 1 and part 2 new game+ unlocked! Its been a emotional ride with you thank you for sharing it with us and as your community ❤️ and your friends there with you all lined up.. that brought tears to my eyes as well! You have such an amazing friends Brit!
I'm so incredibly thankful to them and this community which includes you! .< it was just a bad mix of all the things and my body was like NO MORE PLEASE lol but I survived and honestly I think it was a great example of what FFXIV is all about.
when you said you dont remember that faces but recognize the voices, thats what the song was saying right before you said those words "our journey, now a memory fading from sight, but i see you"
17:42 Thancred: oh alright, just this once *thancred hugs her* (anyone who has played FF14 knows full well This is how Thancred would have responded if a girl said to him to shut up and hug her)
I'm playing FFXIV since the beta of 1.0 and Endwalker broke my heart so bad that I had to stay away from the game for a good 2 weeks. All those years following the scions, fighting against tyranny and the ascians, forging bonds with new people as I travel the world (and other worlds) and finding new friends that I now can call family, it was truly an amazing experience. I am a huge Final Fantasy fan and, for me, FFXIV became the best FF ever. I can't wait to see what S-E will give us in the next chapter and what new friends (npc and pc) I will find along the way. Thank you for this gameplay, it's always amazing to see the reactions of players going through this for the first time. Cheers!
Can't believe I didn't realize Emet was literally telling us about the raids and next expansion in the midst of his conversation before he vanishes in the final zone.
I like how everyone hesitates to walk on when they realize that every one of the black figures is going to conjure up a memory of a past companion. We all know that it's going to destroy us.
I wonder if you've seen Alex Moukala's community rendition of "Close in the Distance" in the 6 months since you've posted this. Bet you'll cry again watching it lol
The voices of the past always fucks me up Update oh your in AOC! I was in that FC before converting to crystals & starting a new character there, Going from Makoto Tsunayoshi on Aether to Fray Sutherland on Crystal.
You say Tataru's "coming to meet us", I say she "sprints halfway across the city to be the very first to greet us at the dock because she's the bestest best to ever best."
1 year late, but I just watched this, I was wondering if you realize after your fight with Zenos. the beep from the telaporter, is the sound of your heartbeat. You said on stream your char was fine. she was actually dead for a few. the Beep, beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeep sound.
51:05 "You are going to fight the physical embodiment of Despair, throwing planets at you, on the back of a dragon, in space." Yup. Sounds like Final Fantasy.
Honestly Brit's first instinct on reacting to Zenos is the correct one, no matter how much the community loves answer #1. I get the idea behind choice #1, but there's literally no forgiving Zenos for the atrocities he committed in the course of the game. It doesn't matter if I as an "adventurer" seek thrills, the idea that I'd try to relate to that dude after everything he did, even in an anime-power "forgive and redeem" setting, is just absurd to me. #3 is the only logical answer in an in-world/character sense, without severely twisting the idea of what one's WoL is in direct defiance of how we're largely portrayed in the story through our actions. Maybe #2 I guess, to be fair. But #1 is just straight up "yeah lol I do get off on thrills, aren't we so similar mister burned the world for his salty runback on me?" My Zenos rant aside, been a joy to watch Brit through the story.
As far as I've always seen it #2 is perfectly legitimate for the WoL. You don't care for what Zenos thinks, all that matters is the fact that you will put him down right there, right now. Let him talk as he likes, at this point he's beyond contempt, beyond hate, it's no longer personal. He is a threat to you and yours, a dangerous beast and you will put him out of his misery.
Zenos absolutely checkmates us at the end. To deny him is to prove you are his mirror. The inability to see past your own perspective and not reward the only time in his existence he considered the feelings of another. And to boot the only reward he wants is to die at your hand. He knows you will win.

You never encounter him during the Elpis quest lines, and it only becomes evident he did mean you specifically with the Panda raids and when you see him there.
This reaction series was wonderful. I came in late, only started on your Endwalker journey, but it was so great following along with you. Thanks for all the videos! :D
Thank YOU for watching and coming along for the ride
If you weren't at the stream, do not read this until you reach the final battle:
Listen to my story...
This may be our last chance...
Watching it back again, the G'raha Teedus reveal is still great.
Keeping up the charade while on vacation wasn't easy, but I was determined to have G'raha Teedus show up just to throw Brit off from thinking I was the one behind the mask :P
It's not easy moving a character in XIV through remote desktop lol.
But the final payoff was worth it
Signed, Stinus aka G'raha Teedus :)
It wouldn’t have been right without you! Thank you for you labours ❤
Based and GOAT-pilled.
One of the best things I've seen mods do for a streamer. 😄
That was a bold move, sir. Unmasking yourself with G’raha as your name. You could’ve been shot by some shady ascian from the back and then kidnapped!
congratulations on completing end walker, it is my favourite expansion to date so far it hits you right in the ticker.
Been here since practically the start just jumping in to watch on youtube. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us, it was a joy to watch and relive it through your eyes.
Aah thank you so much!
Don't appologize for crying... we've all been there, we all have cried... and we all shared this moment with every streamer and cried again with them.
(Ardbert; fistbump scene in the Crystarium right before we enter the Tempest)
Do not despair, you are not without allies. (Haurchefant; in the "Falling Snows" room right after the ARR cutscenes, leading into Heavensward)
What we have sown in blood, we have reaped in suffering, and it cannot go on. (Merlwyb; speaking about the lominsans relations with the kobolds and sahagin, post-shb patch content... I wanna say 5.4?)
Upon the souls of they who have sacrificed themselves to pave the way for peace, we will *never* abandon our cause. (Aymeric; to Midgardsormr in the post-Nidhogg scene in Ishgard)
While it is true that man succumbs all too often to anger and avarice, he may yet overcome his baser instincts through the forming of bonds with others. (Nanamo; to Varis in the table meeting prior to the Ghimlyt Dark)
Such victories are rarely won without sacrifice, but the prize is worth the price. (Raubahn; I *think* this is right before we start our final push into Ala Mhigo)
And we for our part are glad indeed to be able to welcome friends both old and new. (Kan-E-Senna; table meeting with all the Allies in Ala Mhigo, 4.4 I think, the one where Thancred gets summoned to Norvrandt)
Save your tears for the morrow. You may be sure we will have ample cause to shed them, be they for joy or despair. (Hien; right before the attack on Doma Castle)
From tragedy and sacrifice we rise to greet a new dawn. (Papalymo; in a Heavensward cutscene, right after our dinner with Aymeric - I did NOT place this one until I replayed the story, pretty hard catch I'd say, especially if you played ARR with JP voices like I did the first time through)
A future shaped by the choices we made, in ways we could never have foreseen. (Count Edmont de Fortemps; at a guess it's in 3.1 cutscenes, near the end)
Yet miracles do happen. So let us pray, and will our friends home. (Beq-Lugg; explaining to Ryne about the memory crystals we used to bring the Scions home, right after we actually do it)
I won't stop praying until I know they're safe. (Ryne; responding, in the same cutscene)
Strong art thou, mortal. (Midgardsormr; in Azyz Lla after we speak to Tiamat and shatter the final barriers he's put between us and our gift, conceding that we have passed his trial)
Look to the light within, that you may continue to be a beacon to others. (Minfilia; from the scene in Amh Araeng where she gives her power over to Ryne and her soul finally returns to the aetherial sea)
Lets finish this. (Ardbert; hilariously enough, this is from 3.4, from the cutscene right before the battle with the warriors of darkness [the one where Alisaie goes RDM for the first time with her blade of light])
Feelswalker continues to hit me no matter how many times I see other people doing it. And we won't go into how I was when I did it myself...
You're the best Brit, it's been wonderful following your journey.
I really wanted it to be Daddy dragon, Alpha and Omega
You're amazing, Brit! It's been an amazing journey!
Thank you for watching!
I just finished watching all of your journey and damn it has been full of feels ♥
I'm so glad you could have such a wonderful experience and wish you all the best for the future :)
we got there. we got here!!!! we saw you at your best, brit. panic aside, there was no worst. this journey is your best and we're here for you through it. i cant wait for more streams, games, and journeys!!
Aww thank you so much Nathan!
The whole Ultima Thule couldve been avoided if we give him the mothercrystal and simply ask zenos to go there and kill the endsinger in exchange for the final battle
i think we all cried during that scene. such an amazing game and amazing story in ednwalker
This whole expansion ripped my heart out numerous times and flaunted it in front of my crying face. But at the end when you are in the depths of despair. They throw in our three favorite Ascians. I say three cause I know Venat was there in spirit smiling.
never has a game elicited such emotion in me before except one and I was young then. This games cutscenes are truly a piece of art.
Alisaie: "You can't leave us!"
Me, role-playing a raspy voice from being at death's door: "After watching you all leave me one by one today, turnaround is fair play, bitch."
I NEVER get tired of seeing this
Yeah, this was probably the most emotional moment I ever experienced in a video game. This was done so well!
"I rode the light of the stars to you." is the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me.
I cried during all your video, just like I did the first time I finished Endwalker ❤️
Welcome to journeys end Brit! Well, it's the end for now, but I am glad you had a wonderful experience!
It's been an immense pleasure. Thank you so much!
💕
Was a pleasure to be there and I'm glad you had the chance to experience it with so many good friends.
Thank you for coming along on the journey Seris!
Thank you Brit for this wonderful journey!
i cried when i played this, i still cry watching others like you plat it
seeing this again reminded me why i went back to FFxiv, Endwalker was absolutely amazing i love everything about it till the very end of my adventures.
All the hugs!! So thankful for all your support Fhloston
wasn't there live for the fight and edit cut it out, did you get the the main chorus of the song after the scions come in and buff you/shield you? most people do that fight now and the fight is over before the epic of the song kicks in due to ilvl now :( if "on wings of hope" doesnt start lost like 50% of the experience lol
It's been fun watching your journey.
seeing you sob during the endwalk.
I just wanted to **there there**
🤧 ty
When i got to the part with Zenos and he said the adventurer line i was just like "ya got me bro" and chose "That, i can't deny". He had me figured out from the start.
You know, it's really odd. It's such a joy to watch you cry (which sounds really mean by itself) at the same parts that I cried myself haha
Watching FFXIV playthroughs is really emotional vampirism at its finest, isn't it?
The saddest one for me to hear, the ghosts was Papalymo, I literally stopped and let the game run and was like....nope. Just wouldn't i bawled
Her absolute joy in seeing Emet again. I felt that.
Remember that time Tataru tried to be a Summoner?
when you said you dont remember that faces but recognize the voices, thats what the song was saying right before you said those words "our journey, now a memory fading from sight, but i see you"
17:42 Thancred: oh alright, just this once *thancred hugs her* (anyone who has played FF14 knows full well This is how Thancred would have responded if a girl said to him to shut up and hug her)
I'm playing FFXIV since the beta of 1.0 and Endwalker broke my heart so bad that I had to stay away from the game for a good 2 weeks. Cheers!
Thank you so much for watching! This story truly is a masterpiece
Right at the beginning, I had that exact same reaction, "oh no!"
Thank you for all these videos! I hope you do more once FF XVI launches.
Really heartbreaking when all friends are gone even teammates🥲
I was so distraught!
I wonder if you've seen Alex Moukala's community rendition of "Close in the Distance" in the 6 months since you've posted this. Bet you'll cry again watching it lol
The voices of the past always fucks me up
Update
oh your in AOC!
I was in that FC before converting to crystals & starting a new character there,
Going from Makoto Tsunayoshi on Aether to Fray Sutherland on Crystal.
You say Tataru's "coming to meet us", I say she "sprints halfway across the city to be the very first to greet us at the dock because she's the bestest best to ever best."
When I tell you I sobbed like a baby when Hythlodeus and Emet were brought back, and then I sobbed like a baby again when they left... :')
1 year late, but I just watched this, I was wondering if you realize after your fight with Zenos. the beep from the telaporter, is the sound of your heartbeat. You said on stream your char was fine. she was actually dead for a few. the Beep, beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeep sound.
51:05
"You are going to fight the physical embodiment of Despair, throwing planets at you, on the back of a dragon, in space."
Yup. Sounds like Final Fantasy.
And that was after going to the very edge of the universe after fueling a space ship with the power of gods.
Silver summed it up quite nicely LOL
And there you were few expansions ago, handing out pretzels to random soldiers in Thanalan
That hug was super sweet
I Brit I just stumbeled on your vids... But as one Dalumud survivor to another. welcome home.
i just did this tonight and was trying the whole way, the music had me before i even started talking to people
Honestly Brit's first instinct on reacting to Zenos is the correct one, no matter how much the community loves answer #1.
But #1 is just straight up "yeah lol I do get off on thrills, aren't we so similar mister burned the world for his salty runback on me?"
My Zenos rant aside, been a joy to watch Brit through the story.
Thanks for the emotional journey, it was great to see your reaction to it all. Will you be doing your reaction to Aglaia and Euphrosyne?
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately, I don't have those recorded but there are other raids up on my raw VOD channel @britkcaleylive
"whos crying? Im okay!" Ma'am. You have at least 20 stab wounds, burns and somehow three punctured lungs.
Zenos's battle-boner still gets me 😂
Zenos absolutely checkmates us at the end. To deny him is to prove you are his mirror. The inability to see past your own perspective and not reward the only time in his existence he considered the feelings of another.
And to boot the only reward he wants is to die at your hand. He knows you will win.
it's not over yet
