There's one line of npc dialogue in The Dead Ends that gets me every time, perhaps because there but for the grace of Hydaeltn goes the Warrior of Light. It's after the peacekeeper, before the portal; a soldier, javing just launched a bunch of missiles, exults "I did it, I killed them all!" Only to realize.. "I... killed them *all*..." and I can think of perhaps no fate more tragic.
Zenos showing up, as Shinryu, and being like "bro, I thought you were better than this, why isn't that thing dead yet?" shifted my entire perspective of him. He might be a psycho, but hes our psycho.
@@SuperRamos619 She's was promoted to Writing Director once she finished the core Endwalker story (and she did write ALL of it. Every single of the 244649 words. That's more words then War and Peace). She now manages the writing team and does edits, but no longer directly contributes to the MSQ. She does apparently work on some of the sidequests, but that's it as far as actual writing goes.
Throughout Endwalker, you keep thinking "This is the Welcome to Endwalker point." And then you finally get to this, and you go, "Duh, Welcome to the REAL EndWALKER!" And it totally crushes you.
My favorite part is Zenos looking at the most powerful entity in known existence, so strong the ancients couldn't find a way to fight against it, and just goes "Why isn't it dead yet? Whats wrong with you" My second favorite part was I was a smn going through this so when I fought zenos he was using primal powers against me, and I was throwing primal powers back against him.(For phase 1 at least).
We all ugly cried. We all cried out all our tears and then somehow found some more. (The noise that ripped out of me when I had to watch the twins dissolve was not human. ) We all broke, and then goddamn Emet snapped his fingers and summoned flowers and told us to put ourselves back together. ("My friends are back with me," I whispered. "I can do anything.") And then Tataru sprinting across half of Old Sharlayan just to keep her promise to be the first to welcome us back... she's the bestest best to ever best.
Wake up another Sarah Key crying over Graha video just dropped! Is her eye makeup gonna melt again this time we can’t waittt!!!!!!! Her pain fills my soul❤❤❤
Dudeeee it took me four months to not cry every time I heard Close in the Distance. I’m watching this and sobbing with you. When I first beat Endwalker it took me like an entire week to recover!
"A flower. Yes. Upon your return, I will gift you a beautiful flower." that scene alone brought tears to my eyes, Endwalker was an end of a journey like no other for me, and I am glad I got to explore it with so many others, I am glad you got as much out of it as you did! May you ever walk in the light Sarah
Dont worry, you arent alone. We all went through this and had basically the same emotional roller coaster. I have never played a game like 14 that has made me feel the things ive felt. It is just a master class. The game has broke me more than once and touched me personally in ways i never though it would. It truly is a time.
I love the environmental story telling with the music, with every sacrifice we build a musical tapestry that ends in the final song Close in the Distance.
I have played and watched this part of the story countless times. But it still makes me emotional every time. That’s how I know that Endwalker was peak. Loved the reaction btw.
What they managed to do with the SHB-EW arc to tie everything together was nothing short of a masterpiece. This is why I keep coming back to watch these reactions and sob every time. It's more than just a game, right? It's an experience, it's something that will stick with you, something that helps us understand and accept the impermanence of life and thus the importance of sharing stories, thoughts, feelings, to keep hope alive even in the face of despair. Sarah could have taken many more years to finally upload this and I still would've clicked on it right when I saw it. They guided the player through the game with such a huge effort in writing, music, scene direction, showed such passion in their work. The scene with Moenbryda's parents will always break me. Sometimes when I see Meteion tell the Scions to silence their song of oblivion, to replace their despair with hope, I wonder if those words weren't coming directly from the devs themselves, hoping for a better world, feeling a bit cynical but knowing that as long as we spread hope and compassion, and not despair, that a better tomorrow is possible. Knowing that it was only possible together, with the people you met along the way, or gamers who will never meet but all shared in this experience that touched us, that gave us a glimpse of hope when maybe some of us needed it the most.
Like an emotional vampire I was ready to watch you do this cause it took me back to when I played it how devastated I was!! Congrats on getting to the end!!
Ahh.. this sent me back. I was an absolute mess when i played this far from home during the pandemic. Everything felt extremely relevant to what i was going through. I'll always love this game and the devs for pulling this off. Thank you for the share.

So glad to go on this journey with you! Interesting theory about the teleporter. Where does it come from? If you talk to Urianger at Revenant's Toll, he offers his thoughts: "I understand that, following thy clash with Zenos, the teleportation device thou had discarded fell to thee from on high. To return to thee in such a manner... I did confer with Wilfsunn and Bloewyda, yet they insist the device was possessed of no such capability. 'Twas a miracle befitting the nature of that place, where emotion becometh tangible reality. Whence, then, arose this timely wonder? Thine ardent wish...or another's fervent prayer?" Our best friend's dying prayer was to send us home. 😭😭
I gotta say it.....me experiencing end walkers ending had me crying....ESPECIALLY the Ultima Thul theme "closing the distance" starts playing....i started crying.......SOOOOO HARD
One of my friends is finishing Endwalker the same day this is uploaded, so I get to cry twice :D Fun fact: The song that plays after G'raha sacrifices himself was confirmed to be from Ardbert's perspective. Just in case you wanted to cry again :')
After the twins you mean? And yeah I thought about that and realized... the part with all the memories was probably Ardbert bringing back all your greatest hits and reminding you that you aren't alone
I was there live. What a ride it was 😭😭😭 as a FFXIV playthrough watcher (never played 😅), I absolutely LOVED the Meteion story arc. Hydaelyn became one of my favourite video game characters ever!!! Zenos is a great character, thats been his sole purpose and his obsession with you. As he was brought up by his horrible garlean family, he has no idea how to express himself to you other than with combat. To him that was the only way he could express himself. He also knew he could not stay, and so he gives his final farewell in a last challenge, but knowing you could just leave. No force, no emergency. And you know you can't let him live after all he's done. Also hes likely the one who saves you at the end and returns you to your friends. A fitting farewell for such a divisive character.

His final monologue truly made me realize why I can sometimes feel so disconnected with people and the world. So first off you ought to record a reaction to a few specific meme videos, most notably Bunny Zenos. Secondly, you might enjoy watching other people play through -- if only to connect the dots you didn't know enough to connect the first time through. My favorite, perhaps, of "holy crap that DID happen I didn't even think about it much", is after defeating Zodiark and returning to the lunar surface. It's a moment that's sufficiently out of place that I completely and utterly forgot about it until a rewatch. Because right there on the moon, before even meeting the loporrits, with nobody else around, there's a creepy voice: "Ah... At last...". And if you go back and watch it, you will now recognize that voice

*Creature murders 3 of the people of the star before her eyes* "OH MY GOD IT'S SO PRETTY~!" Also I mean... Saying it's very 'Kingdom Hearts' is a bit unfair. These things were kinda done in Final Fantasies before they were done in KH. Enemies transforming into monstrosities was a thing even before FF7 when things went to shitty pixelated 3d graphics on the Playstation. I remember hearing that line "Bereft of the synergy that is your strength, unless you mean to call upon the dead once more." XD holy shit, the fight against Zenos. Guess your reflexes just weren't good enough~
Wow, you refused Zenos his acceptance? He really did think of you as a friend in his strange little way. The only way he can express his love for you is through battle to the death. The only thing that can give him peace of mind is fighting you. All he thought about was you. To the very end. The only thing to give him purpose in life. Growing up under such a ruthless father really messed him up, he was bored of everything. The thrill of the hunt was all he ever wanted. He wanted you to live because he was sure that one day, you would the only one to give him satisfaction in this world. Zenos wasn't asking your character the question, he was asking the real you. The person. The coolest 4th wall break ever next to mommy's question, "was your journey good?"
She already said it; Zenos overstayed his welcome. He ain't no Emet. He's an overbearing, creepy fanboy who hurts people, and I don't understand his popularity.
i think people really just resonate with different parts of stories and for me i was far more interested in what was going on with the scions / the ascians than zenos i understand why people like zenos and everything but for me i found it kind of comical that he kept popping back up for no reason LOL (i know there's actually a reason but it wasn't really that important to the overall plot of endwalker)
@@SarahKey Exactly. People play this game for all sorts of different reasons. It's hilarious to me how people think Zenos speaking to the player makes it MORE reasonable to only assume there's one correct answer. It makes it LESS reasonable if anything.
Zenos *really* did overstay his welcome. I wasn't a fan of how he was the final part of this expansion. Like dude, you're 2 expansions too late to matter.
at long last the ffxiv endwalker series is complete
thank you so much for your patience with this series
i hope you enjoyed my journey
No matter how many times I watch the scene with Metion remembering Hermes' speech in the Elpis flowers, I always tear up a little.
Yeah, both that monologue from Hermes and actually the final words of Fandaniel messes me up every time.
The thing that gets me the most with that scene is the way her eyes shake as she remembers her past... It shows such strong emotion.
Same. When she remembers and we hear that halted speech pattern again in that sweet little voice, I cried and was like "There's the Meteion I know."
There's one line of npc dialogue in The Dead Ends that gets me every time, perhaps because there but for the grace of Hydaeltn goes the Warrior of Light. It's after the peacekeeper, before the portal; a soldier, javing just launched a bunch of missiles, exults "I did it, I killed them all!"

A test of your reflexes!
thank you!
1:12:40 Ultimate hype-man.
1:26:09 Sarah, I think there's a chance you are failing his test...! x3
1:17:28 ....... LOL
1:17:15 was that an undertale reference
of course >:)
Omg😮
He's an overbearing, creepy fanboy who hurts people, and I don't understand his popularity.
i think people really just resonate with different parts of stories and for me i was far more interested in what was going on with the scions / the ascians than zenos
i understand why people like zenos and everything but for me i found it kind of comical that he kept popping back up for no reason LOL (i know there's actually a reason but it wasn't really that important to the overall plot of endwalker)
I disagree, Endwalker really gave him alot more character development to show you more of who he is, and that he really is quite tragic
sarah pls the sprint button is your best friend LMAO
