Quick word of advice, always clean the underside of case back, from dirt and debris, always apply silicone grease to the gasket, with dried up silicone on gasket watch is not protected from moisture. Also, never touch new battery witch bare hands because sweat and body oils can shorten battery and thus damage the battery or drain it faster, don't touch it with tweezers either. And by the way you need properly reset watch once again witch smaller tweezers.
You must reset the electronics by connecting AC to (-). The AC hole is on the 8:30 clock position -- left edge, lower than center. It is marked but difficult to see. The (-) is just anywhere on the inner plate -- it is also marked. He attempted this with tweezers, but did not find the AC hole.
Thank you for showing me how to unlatch the battery holder ! Next time, when you have inserted a new battery, reset the watch using a thin piece of wire, poke one end in the - hole, the other end in the AC hole for two seconds, preferably without touching the metal surround. This will do. A pair of tweezers is too thick to reach the bottom of said holes. Regards, Paul

I have this watch I bought from Fry's 11 years ago. Still original battery. I knew how to replace that battery. I note the gasket, and how to pop the holder spring. thanks Lost the manual , so I am going around youtube to learn

Make sure the spring at 6 o'clock is intact. It must make contact with the back plate.
