- For almost 50 years the Linus Pauling Institute has been bringing you important information about vitamin C. As part of our Linus Pauling Day celebration, we are bringing two world-renowned vitamin C experts for a continuing discussion on vitamin C and health.
Dr. Alexander Michels and Dr. Emily Ho from the Linus Pauling Institute host Dr. Jeanne Drisko and Dr. Qi Chen from the University of Kansas Medical Center. Speaker presentations followed by Q&A session. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
From personal experience, ascorbic acid is ascorbic acid it doesn’t matter whether it’s synthetic or from a natural source. It’s the same molecule. It is an acid. I was deficient in vitamin c and supplemented with synthetic ascorbic acid and my levels improved dramatically. It is a water soluble vitamin so it must be consumed daily and multiple times within the day because of it’s short half-life in order to maintain adequate levels in the blood. pH is a major factor for it’s effectiveness.
Absolutely correct. The claims about natural vs. synthetic vitamin C are misleading, and mostly a marketing ploy. People who suggest there is a significant benefit to natural forms are reading bogus science.
A close family member was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years ago. I shared data on the benefits of intravenous C, while chemo was administered. The doctors refused to administer C claiming it would conflict with chemo treatments. The family member died several months later.
to me that is criminal level negligence.
Vitamin C and do so much MORE for the patient compared to doing nothing… or just chemo
Missed the webinar, so thank you for posting. I'm registered for your Brussel sprouts webinar, love my little cabbages!
I have a copy of Vitamin C and the Common Cold that is autographed by Linus Pauling. I was wondering if you would know what something like that would be worth? Of course I wouldn't want to sell it but mostly curious. Thank you for the research you do at the institute.
it would be worth around $5
I believe most Synthetic vitamin c is sub standard! Natural NON GMO food sourced vitamin C is the real deal and the full package as nature intended. But in times of illness I would compliment this with a high quality less than natural source! I can share the expert testimonials to explain if anyone is genuinely interested. ❤
I'm so curious to know more about the patient with pancreatic cancer and wondering if there was a genetic component that made them respond so well to iv vitamin c.
Jennie - so do we! It not only could be the genetics of the individual but also of the tumor itself. Unfortunately, we don't know enough about what makes tumors resistant or susceptible to vitamin C treatment, so we just have to wait for the studies to come.
YOU NEVER DISCUSS WHERE TO GET IV VITAMIN C-----THERE ARE MANY HOOPS TO JUMP THROUGH THAT MAKE IT IMPRACTICAL FOR THE CONSUMER.
I buy my IV C from that guy in the back alley who sells all the interesting stuff...
You get it from a doctor. It’s not hard.
They did. Go to the 44 minute mark.
I know Naturopathic Doctors especially Naturopathic Oncologists administer I.V C but I don’t know if they sell what’s needed to do it at home.
I wonder if liposomal vitamin C works more like IV than like getting it orally.
In general, I avoid liposomal products because I think they avoid the bodys own mechanisms of regulating where things go.
But vitamin C is ubiquitous in the body, so maybe almost OK.
Humans getting vitamin C from food instrad of producing it themselves in the body is some kind of abomination. So getting it there other way might be to compensate for that problem. (Until we fix that faulty gene by CRISPR).
I read a research paper which had a elaborate description of how they produced their liposomal vitamin C.
Titled "Enhanced Resorption of Liposomal Packed Vitamin C Monitored by Ultrasound"
