@Collin Stage , with over 2million subscribers, all the ad links and just the vast amount of videos uploaded to TH-cam, don’t worry, “Ninja Nerd” is getting paid!! I do agree, they do a great job with the wealth of knowledge that is provided by this channel. 👍❤️
I swear we have a lot of professors and professors and many who hold high academic degrees, but not everyone who holds a degree becomes a teacher in my opinion. Those who are able to simplify and communicate information are the ones who deserve to be appreciated and called professors, not those who hold a degree without being able to communicate ideas as well. Do, may God bless you, and we are always waiting for everything new from you. All the love from Syria❤
We admire you from india. Iam a resident in internal medicine . To know any concept i will watch ninja nerd channel then i go to text books. Really we are very much in debt to you for this wonderful teaching. You have world wide fans sir
you are an extraorginaly person that any one can substitute you in this world.. God protect you and live forever for all health students. warm thnaks for Proffesor Ninja
If there's ever a video I need about a certain topic 9/10 you always have it. This is by far one of the most helpful, entertaining channels I've come across in a long time. Thank you for your work!
Zac and the team... what the heck did I just watch? This was EXACTLY the lecture on antiplatelets, anticoags and thrombolytics I needed. I was always confused on why we give P2Y12 and ASA for MI and not Heparin, ASA and P2Y12 for stroke ect ect but this just made it so clear. Then you give reversal agents, drug monitoring and case examples just to remind us that you're not just a channel for pre-med but for clinical med students too. Love it so much and so happy with how far you guys have come.
Zach your videos have been so incredibly helpful. My 62 Y/O wife has had Lupus since 1985. In 2015 her mitral valve was replaced due to Lippmann Sacks, in 2020 she had a massive DVT, and in October a subdural hematoma followed by bilateral PE’s, followed by an even bigger subdural. Your videos really made a difference. Whether Hematology (Platelets) or Brain anatomy. I seem to always find one of your videos that make it more understandable.
The amount this channel has helped me in medicine is unbelievable. Thank you so much for these vidoes which no doubt are leading to a better future generation of medical professionals!
this huge, beautiful video about the anti-coagulants is beyond comprehension, how you get the patience and persistence to make these marvelous medical science videos that benefits folks all over the world in medicine and paramedical /nursing etc. ? , thumbs up to all involved and take care and thanks again,
Great content. One thing to remember, inpatient treatment of a confirmed clot (DVT/PE) requires heparin (or LMWH) combined with warfarin for a minimum of 5 days and INR >2 for 24 hours to prevent rebound clotting. Warfarin’s half life requires a much longer time combined with LMWH/Heparin to provide full anticoagulation. For DVT/PE prophylaxis, the overlap can be less.
@@qman1131 Zach talked about using tPA infused directly onto the clot. We employ this option at work. Typically, it’s a low dose infusion directly onto the clot as the location is identified with radiology. That’s for DVT. We don’t use it with PE. Obviously, it’s a lot harder to feed the catheter to the clot location in the lung.
@@AriePharmD And one really important thing to add: Clot Size does NOT dictate therapy. Hemodynamics and right ventricular stress are the most important indications for Fibrinolysis. Edit.: Wait. You dont use tPA on PE? Why would you not?
Been watching your videos for so long!! I'm an M2 and finally just bought a membership :) should have done this sooner! Thank you for the notes!! I'm a visual learner and your style of teaching has helped me cement many concepts. Thank you
I have watched this video now 3 times in my ECMO training. You have the ability to make it all very simple for me to understand. Oh, I wish the Ninja Nerd: Doctpr Classic came in a white. Bought my brother one already.
@@kxcreative6064 I have heard of and understand all of them…although, our hospital (like most Healthcare Facilities) only keeps a selected number/type in stock. Most hospitals have a formulary of medications that are stocked and used on a regular basis.
I love this channel. I found it this semester, my last semester of nursing school, and it’s so hopefully! I took anatomy several years ago & these videos are great at helping me remember things I thought I forgot. Zach, is an excellent teacher and it’s great to learn from someone who is excited about teaching, as it shows in his lectures. Please consider a way that students, grads, etc. can contribute to your channel to help it and your website grow. I refer classmates to your channel weekly and it’s so appreciated! ❤️
Thank you for your hard work! I am definitely a visual learner so really appreciate this form of education which is even for free. You're doing a great job with each video. Greetings from Germany
Thanks Prof Zach for the beautiful and simplified lecture as always !! I would like to add 1. platelet transfusion is inefficient to reverse the effect of Ticagrelor, because circulating ticagrelor and its metabolite are likely to inhibit the fresh platelets. 2. Bentracimab is an antidote to Ticagrelor, it is still under trials though. It binds ticagrelor and its active metabolite with high affinity and specificity. 3. Apixaban clearance is less dependent on renal function(only 25%) compared to other DOACs and it is approved even in ESRD with reduced doses.
Great Work Professor Zach. You have made Pharmacology so easy.......Please make a video on CNS Pharmacology and Anti-psychotic Drugs & Epileptic drugs.......Love from Pakistan
If I gonna watch movie’s or drama’s After 20-30 minutes I will shut down But whenever I’m watching yours lectures even if it is more than 3 hours i want to continue like a marathon !!! Love you 😘
Thank you Prof. Zack Murphy, your video does help me alot. Not, only this one but all of your videos. I'm with you all the way from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬. Please, do more videos to help us understand more. Your biggest fan.
I agree with you 100%! Thank you very much for posting this video. I hope this topic will touch many hearts and help all to practice your suggestions and lessen their hardships and sufferings. Thank you again. ❤
You were such a good teacher that I got all but one of the questions right at the end, [and that was the one where you said two choices, one was better in that case]. So I did pretty good and I'm not a medical student. I'm just a mechanical engineer type who loves this stuff.
These videos have been saving my life while in school! I absolutely love the content and find it easy to follow and so helpful in understanding difficult topics!
Awesome. I've learnt deeply all of knowdledge in this video. It make me clearly understand about antiplete, anticoagulation and thrombolytic mechanism. Thanks for a lot!

Hi! Could you do a vid on lower limb amputation, or just amputation at some point? Maybe some possible causes, different types, functionalities of each, and recovery or something? Please and thank you :)
Another excellent lecture. Thank you For the activation of vitamin k dependent enzymes, I suppose you wanted to say gamma glutamyl carboxylate rather than gamma glutamyl transferase
**hello zach in this lecture at 36:37 you have mentioned that gamma glutamyl transferase make proteins functional that are factor 2, 7, 9, 10, protein c and s but in another video of you on warfarin you have mentioned that it is gamma glutamyl carboxylase that make these proteins functional, the book I am studying for pharmacology is katzung and in that the enzyme mentioned for making the proteins functional is gamma glutamyl carboxylase not the transferase. So, I think it is a mistake.
