Yes! Found Dr Barrie Tan's work fascinating. Have been taking Annatto-GG (by Designs for Health) with his patented trans-gerynlgerianol (American River Nutrition) and within a couple a months APO(B) dropped from 114 to 79.

Dr. Tan is proud of his work with tocotrienols (and wants to sell his supplements), so his position is understandable. However, alpha tocopherol is the only form of vitamin E that is essential to life.

Yes, those two for sure - however, not seed-oils in general - a few, few!, do indeed have good nutritional value - Flax seed, Sacha Inchi, Pumpkin seed, Chia seed, for example to name such a few - ... *if* and only *if* they are pressed without deteriorating the product - organic, non-GMO, fresh, no heat, no oxygen, no chemical extraction,... and when stored in refrigeration, and transported and used accordingly with health in mind - - not everybody has access to regularly eating arctic deep ocean fish or clean algae oils; and most nut-oils do not contain comparatively-appreciable amounts of Omega 3 essential fatty acids - Omega 6 and 9 are more prevalent in most vegetable oils, of which 6 is the other essential (must be provided via diet), whereas our physiology and metabolism is capable to derive Omega 7, 8, 9, 12,.. from those tow essentials Omega 3 and 6 - O 6 is more stable and more prevalent in our food sources, Omega 3 is very unstable and requires more effort and cost in *healthy* manufacture- and storage- and transport in order to maintain an O-3 oil product sufficiently shelf-stable for large-scale commercial use - thus, we find our general diet drastically deficient in O-3 fatty acids ! - Organic, non-GMO, *truly* cold-pressed and properly made flax seed oil happens to be one of the few seed oils rich in O-3, widely available, and one of the least costly options - buy it organic, non-GMO, check with the company how they grow-harvest-make the oil, and make sure you buy oils that are sold in glass bottles, not plastics -

@@PeterQuentercrimsonbamboo ever have a walnut before it was hard? The "skin" is instead a membrane and the juice inside is amazing. Rather hard to get into as the green portion surrounding the seed is still fresh but I'm wondering about essential monosaccharides and assuming that getting them from nature makes life and regrowth much easier on our livers.
Also, I believe the lignans in sesame we're said to increase alpha tocopherol in tissue, so maybe flax seed that much more as it's count is apparently higher.
Been guessing about annatto flowers and alpha tocoTrienols(apparently they work faster and when dealing with electrical signals I believe I'd want the fastest acting protection) as of recently, assuming the oils of other flowers have been cultivated and used as medicine and knowing that I'd rather eat fresh things directly from nature of they're healthy

Her comment about having too much E, and not enough K, struck a chord with me when she said you can wind up with your eyes full of cholesterol, as i developed corneal arcus (fatty deposits on periphery of cornea) in my early 40's. When corneal arcus is seen at in early 40's, it's a sign of high cholesterol, yet my levels were fine...slightly elevated at best, and my levels that were high were good (hdl) cholesterol, along with low triglycerides. I also had a coronary calcification screening less than a year ago at the age of 54, and it came back totally clear, "0". so the dr's just chalked it up as "genetics". I don't think i was supplementing with a multi-vitamin that had a ton of E back in my 40's, BUT...i was eating a ton of amonds and almond butter, so i wonder if my dietary intake E was enough to drive down my K levels, allowing for corneal arcus to happen...plus i never really had any signs of K deficiency. weird stuff.

Alpha Tocopherol is necessary but is available sufficiently in a good diet from food. But by comparison Tocotrienol is much rarer in diets but has been found by Barry Tan et al , to have amazing beneficial effects when supplemented in pure form from annatto in particular therefore , as the benefits are inhibited by excessive alpha tocopherol above normal dietary values . See Dr Barry Tan for further explanation and discussion.

How do such smart people repeatedly fail to place their hard-earned knowledge into proper context? Vitamin E is a plant-derived molecule(s) that occurs in proportion to unsaturated fats. There is relatively little Vitamin E found in the tissues of mammals because there is relatively little unsaturated fat found in the tissues of mammals. Humans are mammals that evolved as hunters and consumers of other mammals. As such, humans require very little Vitamin E when eating a species-appropriate diet, which is one dominated by animal fats that are highly saturated and minimally unsaturated. Even when we eat an inappropriately large amount of carbohydrates, we convert the excess to saturated fat for storage, not unsaturated fat...isn't that telling? The "fruits and veggies" mantra is identifiably inane to anyone familiar with human evolution and the world that exists beyond our hyper-modern agricultural states.

Had a fresh juicy soft walnut (which is actually more like a squeezable berry or small fruit than a walnut) before it was "ready", from the green fruit it comes in before the fruit was degraded and the inside portion that would've been a hard walnut was hardened. Still looked and tasted like a walnut but much more refreshing and I started to relate the membrane to myelin sheathing and the juice to essential monosaccharides.

  • @williampatrickfurey

You guys know if the annatto flower is naturally sticky with oils, similar to some other "medicine" except actually healthy, or if the soft seeds have anything in particular that would help the uptake of the oils? If not, I wonder if "strains" of annatto could be cultivated too.
Also, I like that she said Catherine Bishop's picture never seems to show up. Too often, people don't give good credit where it's due.

I assume the faster acting vitamin e may have prevented the death of those newborn zebra fish, (then consider newborn humans), especially if it's used up within the reaction (maybe it doesn't last as long in those studies for the reason of constant overexposure to pollutants to the people and maybe the studies done hadn't nutrient loaded for a prolonged enough period of time in ideal environments to gauge that well enough).
