This brings up some of my past. Right before my first marriage broke apart, he told me he was disgusted with how much weight I gained when I was "pregnant". He was "grossed out" by it. By that point I had 2 sons (ages 9 & 5). While getting our divorce, he brought up things that he never mentioned while we were married. Not only my heart was broken for my family splitting but I had to deal with disgusting comments. It put me in a dark place. That was 30 years ago & those comments still hurt today. However when I have to be around that idiot, it makes me so angry but I keep it inside so my sons don"t have to be affected by it today.

I remember watching this and being horrified at his remarks and my heart breaking for christine in her national television humiliation. I understood then that there was something desperately rotten inside that marriage.
Me too! I felt so awful for her, I remember trying to hold back my tears but they flowed anyway! Fast forward to her growing stronger and finally having the self confidence to leave? She actually glows now! Janelle too! Like peace and happiness radiates from both of them these days...so wonderful to see after all these years!

Well,the good news is that it's clear that David loves and adores Christine! I'm glad she found someone who would do that but I'm even more glad that Christine found out that she's worth more then what Kody made her feel she was.
As a woman who couldn’t have children, I can see Meri became more and more frustrated with all the other wives having baby after baby. You don’t want to feel jealous, but it’s hard not too. I think Meri got so depressed and frustrated with the other wives. Infertility is a very difficult situation to live with. It makes you feel like you’re outside looking in and can’t possibly know anything about raising children. You eventually get left out and left behind.
She wouldn't have been so jealous if Kody treated her equally. If you're constantly told the wives who reproduce frequently are worth more, you'd have a tough time with jealousy even if you were mentally sound. Kody has destroyed these women, and they let him.
@@nailslacquer I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. In this case no matter how much time Kody spent with Meri it wouldn’t have helped. She wanted more children. All around her is the other wives having babies with Kody. It’s pretty obvious Meri became jealous and resentful, because Kody refused to do anything about having another child with her. I remember in the beginnings seasons there was some talk of them trying fertility treatments and Kody refused. Then he gets married to Robyn and after a while Kody tells Meri that they have to legally divorce so he can legally marry Robyn to adopt her older children. Meri divorces Kody and then she’s completely out of the picture as far as Kody is concerned.

TLC can hide this episode all they want but I will never forget it from when I saw it on season 3. I cried for Christine, it was heartbreaking but Kody couldn't stop there he continued season after season to let us know what a great guy he is because he married Christine and did his duty as a husband even though he wasn't attracted to her, wasn't in love with her and apparently didn't even like her all that much. He actually thinks this makes him a great guy and he believes we think that too. Imagine how David must feel watching Kody, that's why I think David is always up for a photograph aimed at Kody. I think it's his way of saying, Hey, Kody, f you, you were NEVER good enough for her and she's mine now. I wish them joy and happiness in all they endeavor to do. Go Christine!!!!

Considering he was the first and only man she had ever been with, one can only imagine how painful his manipulation was over the years. If he was this bad in front of the cameras than we can't imagine how bad it had to be for years.
