I’m watching Part 3 and I am struck by Meri’s perspective, self-awareness, and healthy boundaries. This is the most likable, respectable, intriguing she has been since the series began. I am so happy that this is woman has found herself! May the rest of her life be marked by peace, joy, healthy relationship, confidence and self-actualization.
I get frustrated w meri because I’m an evangelical Christian. I don’t understand their religion and how they can think this is Gods plan. One man showing up for dinner two days a week and being an effective husband and father. But I do get it that this is Meri’s religion. She believes she is still part of this big family despite no relationship w kody. But it’s still jacked up. They have all been living a lie based on doctrine from a con man, not from Jesus. She is drowning in "hidden" guilt and shame. What she wants/needs is them to forgive her, not their "blessing" - but she is so wrapped up in protecting her own ego that to admit a need for forgiveness is to face her own imperfection which she cannot do and be who Kody has propped her up to be. In narc land people are all good or all bad and to need forgiveness is to admit you are not all good (none of us are BTW)
