    When I was a young boy in the early-to-mid 1960s, my great uncle died in a car accident. He left a little something for everyone, and I remember being amazed at the $500 bill. (She may have gotten more than one, I don't know, but I do remember asking to look at one.) I really wish that those would make a comeback today.

    Wow what beautiful notes to own! Unfortunately, my pockets are very tiny & not so deep…..so dreaming about owning one is about as close as I’ll ever get! Blessings always! ❤️✝️😘

    When I was in the military, back in the 60's and early 70's, I was stationed in Southeast Asia. High denomination U.S. currency notes got a much higher exchange rate. $1,000 and $500 U.S. notes got double the exchange rate. When I came home on leave I went to the bank and got a couple $1,000 bills and three $500 bills. I brought them back to Clark AFB with me. I wish I'd kept them now!

    Great list and advice IF you're collecting as an investment. My return on investment is part of my purchase process but low on the list. Thanks Stu for making us think!

    Here is how I break down the different eras for Federal Reserve notes:
    Small Face (Golden) Era: 1928-1995
    Large Portrait (Silver) Era: 1996-2006
    Colorblast (Bronze) Era: 2004-present

    Quite the epic list. Definitely investment pieces especially in those high grades. I definitely dream of owning these notes.

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen a$10,000 note with a Binion’s provenance, but that would be super cool to own! 🤑

    The last "wild" $10,000 bill found (that I know of) was found in a book that somebody checked out of a library. Can you imagine the look on that person's face when they found that note buried deep in the pages as they thumbed through the pages? Last I knew, 435 of the 10K notes are still unaccounted for, so look hard!

    Another good job, and I can't contest your pick of ten investment notes. But like with most, I can not afford them in high grades (MS60+) 😢
    But someone told me one time that 20% + of your investment hobby should be in one item. In this case, maybe one high-grade note..

    Here we are and I was trying to figure out out how silver and gold I could trade for a 10k note. This is almost uncanny I was at show yesterday and we were discussing seeing a 10k note . Great list this our sugar plums dancing in our head

    The technicolor note is my favorite note. The 1918 $500 and $1,000 large size notes are cool, too. I also found a reasonably priced 1900 $10,000 gold cert in 64 EPQ. If you find a $50 national gold bank note, please let me know!

    I read Benny ordered them from the bank. put them in his boot and walked back to the casino with them in his boot

      I read Benny would take any bet and some guy had a paper bag full of money. The guy made one bet, lost and walked out. These were supposedly in the bag.

    The $500 PMG label that says, "Light Green Seal"....To have that put on the label, do you write it in the "Pedigree" space on the order form?

      @Stuplubakcurrency  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I bought it that way. I don’t think so. I have seen this as well as the wide and narrow margins on other denominations. I’m pretty sure they have different Fr. numbers.

    So are these high value notes still technically redeemable/recognized for their face value?

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, except for the gold certificates.
