hi, I have some 1/4 dollar coins and I was seeing that only on one from 1969 in height of the bow on the hair is there the letter d while on the others not, do you know why?
1964 and Before, the mint mark was on the reverse under the eagle. 1965, 1966, 1967 no mint marks were used. 1968 and after, the mint mark was moved to the front. The D stands for Denver, S stands for San Francisco. For Philadelphia there was no mint mark needed for decades, 1980 and after have the P mint mark.
