Quick heads up for upgrading, for the first upgrade you always want to use dwarven as it has the highest stats for upgrade lvl1. After lvl1, you should use battahli for strength based weapons, elven for magic based, and dwarven for mixed. Vermundian is pointless as dwarven is the exact same but with knockpwr. Hope this helps
As an example a full Bathali upgraded Dragon's Vein has 857 strength and 257 knockdown power while a Dragon's Vein with the first upgrade being dwarven and the second and third being Bathali is 854 strength and 291 knockdown power.

So a couple of points. The Caged Fury staff does a little more damage than Dragon's Wit as long as you stay at 100% life. It becomes worse after losing around 10% of your life though. Also the Dragon's Vein actually do a little less damage than Heaven's Key until a Mage grants you an elemental affinity which is when they begin to do a little more damage than the Key. For practicality and convenience Key and Wit are the better weapons but in a vacuum with the right conditions Vein and Cage do more damage.
For a mage Legion is prob still bis since the self-res is more valuable than the pinch of damage on a mostly support class. Caged I feel is too situational personally since Unmoored is the "how long can you go without healing" simulator. Sure wakestones and all heals but 10% hits fast and no one wants to be concerned with topping off constantly to maintain a bit more damage.

I saw and hired a level 27 pawn recently who had 2 pieces of endgame gear equipped. I think this pawn was hooked up by a friend who already beat the game. Strangely enough, I also saw a pawn who's Arisen was far behind him in levels. The pawn was level 29 at the time, but I saw this his Arisen was only level 2. How the hell did that happen?
Having an element on the weapon keeps it from being able to receive elemental buffs from mage though doesn’t it? Using the thief for example I think you’d have to compare the heavens key to a mages element-enhanced dragon’s vein.
I wonder what boosts you get when your mage gives you a elemental affinity. Because personally I only use the wounded heart, it's the coolest looking greatsword imo.

No Caged Fury honourable mention? It’s definitely a great choice up against Dragon’s Wit. Also, smithing Grianmhar with Dwarven? I’ve gone for Elven, seeing as it’s a Magick bow - do you recommend Dwarven over Elven for Magick bows? Everything else is exactly how I have my weapons. I love basically playing an incredibly varied Warfarer build, almost have one of each “best” weapon on me on my travels, something for every occasion. 💪
Hope they add higher difficulties, also really hope the consider giving warfarer a look over only have 3 skills slot makes it just feel super weak to me, like it should open up more skill slots for each weapon you equip or atleast a second or third set at most
Higher difficulty is absolutely needed, there's not much of a point in doing NG+ as of now because there's basically no challenge anymore. It would be cool to have more slots for Warfarer, but believe me, it's strong enough as it is. My only gripe with it is the fact that I'd love to be able to slot at least an ulti, having to choose between them and Warfarer isn't ideal.
Ive been playing warfarer, and at first thought same, would make sense if warfarer vocation skill was rearmament instead of having skill replace, but now that I've played I actually think is still stronger this way. One, you basically need the zoom in vocation ability for any archer class to work so if that button was for weapons swapping you'd be gimped, but beyond that you get all the passives for each vocation skill. So I lost one single skill that let me jump up and do damage as a MS, but I get to keep my stunning lightning bolt that affects multiple enemies I can teleport with, as well as more magic archer bolts that can go further and do more damage (better overall imo then one jump up). Plus because its a skill, you can choose to not use. Then you can play whatever, same 4 skills and passive upgrades to vocation skill as you would have with, but also ability to wear whatever armor so things like crazy knockdown resist on vocations that otherwise really struggle with. So the only thing power wise you're losing out on is the maister skills (which all are really good), but otherwise even with one less skill and no maister skills you're still able to get more benefits then you lose to me.
I haven't tested it myself as I see no reason for an arisen to play Mage over a Pawn but I would guess it applies silence on the basic attacks vs. spells. Might be useful but I wouldn't put it over a self-res considering most our spells as a mage are buffs.
@@FightinCowboyagree not better than self-res, but didn’t wanna find the tokens lol. I was hoping maybe it inflicts silence on any enemies under the big dome spellbuff. Edit: also this is for my main pawn.

I don’t think dragons wit is the strongest sorcerer weapon. I think that heavily depends on your build. My Sorcerer pawn has 2K health and Caged Fury already has high magic plus it scales additionally off health. At level 87 It looks like my pawn is doing way more damage with it.

Dwarven is pretty much universally superior to vermundian for armor. You're going to have slightly more weight in exchange for having a shit ton of poise
@@FightinCowboyI think for Thief Vermundian is a good option for armor because a lategame Thief is basically never going to get hit due to Formless Feint. For the Trickster Stats, Elven seems better than Dwarven no? Your melee hits with the censor don’t seem to knock anything down, and aggro is never an issue - so a higher health pool on your sim via magic would be better right?
@@FightinCowboy I get that both stats are beneficial, but STR only increases aggro generation, which is never an issue. Also, knockdown doesn’t seem to be useful at all considering your melee hits barely do damage. I’ve never successfully knocked anything down with the swings.
Cowboy, have you experimented with enchanted weapons like Heaven's Key going one lvl in battali, one in elvish, and one in dwarf, or do you thing its just better to go full dwarven
Haven't tested it but it'd probably end the same. Battali is phys focus magic deficit, Elven is Mag focus, Phys deficit, dwarven is balanced. Ultimately you'd prob end about the same.

Finding them. Quests. And people using his pawn. It depends really but everyone is relative to each other so it'll depend. Name your pawn SphinxParent or some variation and that'll boost the amount of people using your pawn
I don't think Dwarven is the best for Trickster weapon, I think Vermundian is better. I maxed out the Whimsical Daydream in Vermundian style and my stats are, Strength 473 Magick 835 Knockdown 142 vs Dwarven Strength 551 Magick 666 Knockdown 198 I have 78 less strength but I have 169 more magick meaning my Effigy will have more health, we have a move to pull aggro (Suffocating Shroud) so 78 strength isn't as important, I don't think knockdown is important at all for a Censer.
Vermundian should be identical to Dwarven except less knockdown at max and lower weight. Keep in mind the stats shown are as Warfarer so they won't match your own if you're trickster.
@@FightinCowboyYeah, you're right. Vermund and Dwarve are the same apart from weight and knockdown. I don't think knockdown has any value for the Censer though.

I upgraded Heavens key all rhe wya and my Knockdown is only 489?what did i do wrong ty
Part of the stats you see will be based on your actual class stats. Heavens Key is still gonna be the best but your stats may be slightly different.
Best video out there armor video and you're on fire
I can barely wait 7-8 months for the DLC. The leaks showed November 29th. I'm lvl 73 and everything is just too easy and I didn't even get to endgame, got there too quick it made 0 sense to me. I still have to talk to ambrosia guy. (My pawns just snipe drake off existence in 1min or less, I barely have to do anything, might as well play trickster and chill)
Can down-grade weapons to change the type of upgrade it has?
In NG+ at dragonforged
Basically all BIS weapons are vendor purchases.... that's lame.
Can u tell me pls, what happens to port crystals if u start ng+? Should u collect em before starting New game?
They return to your storage
@@AnsemSenpai Thank u! Btw with new game seeker tokens will be reseted?
no, only the ones you have not yet found still remain@@adhafang9882
they don't reset
Great vid also who else w 1+ million subs takes time to reply to viewers. Cowboy this separates u from other successful content creators 👍
Man, was looking forward to NG+, having all the gear, but fighting much harder enemies... So disappointed to find out that NG+ does not scale in any way like that :( Hope they add this "hard mode" in a way that you can NG+ with it.
Btw: Thanks for all the Dragons Dogma info :)
Thanks for the spoiler warning I'll come back to this vid later😊
So buy everything from the dragonforged in the endgame. Got that xD
For the Trickster Stats, Elven seems better than Dwarven no? Your melee hits with the censor don’t seem to knock anything down, and aggro is never an issue - so a higher health pool on your sim via magic would be better right?
Both str and mag are beneficial to trickster, dwarven is basically equal to vermundian but with KO
@@FightinCowboy I get that both stats are beneficial, but STR only increases aggro generation, which is never an issue. Also, knockdown doesn’t seem to be useful at all considering your melee hits barely do damage. I’ve never successfully knocked anything down with the swings.
Then go mag, honestly min maxing isnt necessary regardless
They should atleast make us earn the Dragon's dogma by pulling it from a pedestal
How u achieve str & magic dmg 1k?
By upgrading.
@@FightinCowboy yeah the nioh 2 player in me wants to uber min max even though its not needed. So I figured id shoot the idea past you before I do my own testing.
Can you comment in the daggers you can buy called spite tgey have a poison wonder if it's worth it
I think with the sharp weapons you want battali so you can more easily chop limbs off. Just sayin
Doesn't work that way afaik
We need best weapons NOT POST GAME, we need the best main game weapons.
Cant wait for angry people to be in here about why the best stuff is largely from the in-game stores. Im so tired with the influx of the new players hating the game lmao
Awesome video man, even if i have most of this stuff.
Can you make a video on how to play as trickster? Or any tips that you dont see being mentioned often?
TBH trickster would be the last class I do a guide on. Warrior, Thief, Ranger, Magick Archer 2x, and Mystic Spearhand would all get builds first.
Would be good if you make a video explaining better the end game mechanics.
How you get that alot of RC?
Get your pawn rented out a bunch.
Would love to see an armor video for post games by cowboy❤
Honestly comes more down to fashion, there's a ton of pieces that are all similarly rated on defense.
@@FightinCowboy But there’s something about a video made by your favorite creator.
hi everyone, How does he have so much RC crystals in dragons dogma 2? and does the chance of hiring pawn in higher level gets lower and lower?
Finding them. Quests. And people using his pawn. It depends really but everyone is relative to each other so it'll depend. Name your pawn SphinxParent or some variation and that'll boost the amount of people using your pawn
@@ChocolateEffigy i see. Is it possible to change pawn name again?
I don't think Dwarven is the best for Trickster weapon, I think Vermundian is better. I maxed out the Whimsical Daydream in Vermundian style and my stats are,
Strength 473
Magick 835
Knockdown 142
vs Dwarven
Strength 551
Magick 666
Knockdown 198
I have 78 less strength but I have 169 more magick meaning my Effigy will have more health, we have a move to pull aggro (Suffocating Shroud) so 78 strength isn't as important, I don't think knockdown is important at all for a Censer.
I mean it is kinda mace like who knows lol
Been waiting for this. I just got to the volcanic island 90 hours in and have all vocations maxed except for the magick archer and warfarer which I’m working on now. Haven’t really upgraded any weapons besides the first free upgrade since I’ve been maxing out all the vocations. Great video!
Also thanks for going over the upgrades as well. I figured dwarven would be generally best for all weapons aside from mage and sorcerer but I wasn’t too sure about magick archer.
Warfarer xp is shared, so level that first if you want, it will contribute towards MA vocation. Edit: make sure you have MA acquired (only acquired vocations get the XP shared).
@@DefyThemAll I’ve already got mag archer to rank 7 in like 1 1/2 hours or so before I got warfarer. Just gonna max it out since vocation ranks are pretty easy to get. Except for trickster. God did I not have fun with that class.
you can't get a preserved head from a petrified medusa lol
The Dragons Veil are actually terrible, the Framae are better than them in almost every way. Heavens Key is the best
It was a good run. Min maxing time.
Is it possible to stay infinitely in the endgame?
Wait hold up… all this time….. all the upgrades…. Whatchu mean upgrades it ain’t just one upgrade across the whole thing? Like I go to upgrade use on my weapon. the weapon guy in Vernworth is a different upgrade than in Bakbattahl?
Correct
@@FightinCowboy 🤯 wow
Timestamps would help
I can add em later
bro how do you have so many rift crystals and gold
Where is the dragon forge to buy all these?
At his cave north of bakbattal
Isn't dead fang the best duospear?
Dead ringer and no
@@FightinCowboy yeah dead ringer ofc. Many youtube guides says it is
@@jonassjveianhalvorsen146 Many people jump on hype trains without testing anything. It's good but it's completely outclassed by Lindworm Fang. Fully upgraded Lindfang is almost 20% stronger on stats. Rhewynt also has higher stats.
The big benefit of Dead Ringer is how early you can get it.
@@FightinCowboy i see, thank you so much for the answer
How did you get so much gold?
Selling old gear, clearing caves, fighting in unmoored world.
@@FightinCowboy I never think to sell gear haha. But I also still haven’t got to end game. Just been exploring everything and taking my time.
You are the best
Your favorite vocation so far?
Thief
Wish I had your RC and gold haha
honestly the game is not hard anymore XD
i will just use best locking one.
Do a best armor
How did you get so much money 💰 😮
Why does the game have no transmog 😅
same reason the first game didn't
Why do you have so much rc ??
Anyone got a gold farm after the shopkeepers leave melve ?
Sell old gear, sell excessive mats, do the 10K gold pawn quests.
