Set forth on your grand adventure, Arisen!
Dragon’s Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG series that challenges the players to choose their own experience - from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. Now, in this long-awaited sequel, the deep, explorable fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 awaits.
On your journey, you’ll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure.
All of these elements are elevated further through physics technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and the latest in graphics, to create a truly immersive fantasy world in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Wield swords, bows, and chant magick. The vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2 give you the ability to approach combat the way you want.
Players can customize their own main Pawn, who will always accompany your Arisen, and enter a covenant with up to 2 additional Pawns from other players through the network.
Beyond the town borders, you will encounter diverse monsters that inhabit the lands. You will need to decide between engaging in battles or finding alternatives; so be aware of your party’s setup, the terrain around you, and the monsters you face.
Travelers, merchants, soldiers and other folk go about their daily lives.
Preoccupied by their own objectives and motives, they all exhibit different emotions. At times, they may lead you to a quest by approaching you and asking for a favor.

"Once you're around level 50..."
*Me at 43 still in the first area.* 😬
It starts to slow down significantly
Damn, I went into post-game at 50 and beat the whole thing at like 57. I know I didn't do everything but I did explore.
@@FightinCowboy Thanks for this. I appreciate the work you put in this video. Did all these weapons end up being dwarvin upgrades? Because there were a few you didn't specify the upgrades for.
You can see upgrade type on eat weapon, anvil is dwarven, fire is batalhi, tree is elvish
@@FightinCowboy YEP, finished my first playthrough at Lv. 50 and just started NG+2 at lv 58. It definitely hits a steep curve after a point
The best in slot weapon for Fighter is…Dragon’s Dogma. Roll credits
Where can and how can I get it?? I been looking at trying to get it
@@jessecarson3021it's not available until you're in the unmoored world aka end game
@@ThisPandaIsHAM oh OK. That explains it then. We'll thanks for explaining
I love the militant dove. The healing effect is ok but what makes the bow truly spectacular is the knockdown. Also the double damage is basically like playing the game on hard mode. It’s a win win win.
Oh wow Serosh is my pawn. Thats awesome. Great video as usual Cowboy!
Was looking for this. Thx
Been waiting for this video!
this is a fantastic resource, thank you; i'm hoping i'll find a similar one from you for armors after i finish writing this comment
Wish there was cross-platform , beastren warrior is always my 4th party member , would love to hire Serosh dude looks absolutely strong and badass !!
lets goo i was just looking at ur vids for dragons dogma 2 yesterday and was like damn i wish he had a video like this
Thanks dude. Glad heavens key is so good, I love the design.
This is one of the better DD2 videos out there. Everywhere else its... heres the WLC weapons or here are the best non end-game weps. Great to see some comparison between the 2 to determine what is really worth spending those crystals on at end game.
Edit; cowboy. Thanks for all of your content , Your Elden Ring walk-through was game changing. This series really gives insight into the game.
I have removed the walk-through comment
Its unnecessary to do a walkthrough for this game
There is no need for a walkthrough for this game. Pawns can guide you on pretty much every quest. He has a guide for the sphinx riddles, which is the biggest thing where a guide would be helpful. Otherwise it's not needed.
This is the exact kind of info my buddy and I have been looking for, mainly the upgrade path explanation.
Thanks for making it :)
Perfect timing for me. I just spent 550 crystals on what I thought would be the best endgame weapons. Fortunately i was able to watch this video and reload my last save and spend my crystals more efficiently. Thaanks a bunch.👍
Using the shield wont get the head from Medusa. In fact petrifying any enemy wont yield any drops from that enemy, you just get exp and dcp. To get the head, you need to grab and climb upto her head and slash away. Best done with Thief equipped with "Bolts from the Blue" at around 40+ level.
Thanks for this 😊 Can you do a similar video on armors?
Quick heads up for upgrading, for the first upgrade you always want to use dwarven as it has the highest stats for upgrade lvl1. After lvl1, you should use battahli for strength based weapons, elven for magic based, and dwarven for mixed. Vermundian is pointless as dwarven is the exact same but with knockpwr. Hope this helps
As an example a full Bathali upgraded Dragon's Vein has 857 strength and 257 knockdown power while a Dragon's Vein with the first upgrade being dwarven and the second and third being Bathali is 854 strength and 291 knockdown power.
You use Dwarven for all the upgrades.
Dwarf upgrade adds weight to the item. Vermond takes weight away.
@@jordank5551 That's a non issue tbh as dragong forging takes half the weight away, the minimal weight loss you get is not worth the huge loss of knockdown potential you could get on dwarven.
You basically gave a worse summary of this exact video
Love your videos my favorite TH-cam channel. I’m having a problem finding up grade material to upgrade I can’t find black crystal
Lichs.
Hellz yeah brotha this is exactly what I needed 😤🙌
Thanks for the video. You’re the best one with best information and details and it really gonna save me a lot of time for rss farm.
However I do have a question since you’re in the one part..(don’t wanna spoil anything of saying it) but does it really have limited time of that zone? I’m just curious
12 days, avoid sleeping and you can stay near forever
Great video. This game is so freaking fun. Thx Cowboy
Apparently both the Dragon's Dogma sword and Dragon's Agis have passive buffs you don't see active. Although they do mention them in the description it's unclear exactly how much of a benefit they provide. But will say this, I started a fight with a Drake, knocked it down and almost instantly killed it when targeting it's heart. Faster than the Thief build I ran the same as you. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Only time I felt OP when I was messing around on the Fighter.
So a couple of points. The Caged Fury staff does a little more damage than Dragon's Wit as long as you stay at 100% life. It becomes worse after losing around 10% of your life though. Also the Dragon's Vein actually do a little less damage than Heaven's Key until a Mage grants you an elemental affinity which is when they begin to do a little more damage than the Key.
For practicality and convenience Key and Wit are the better weapons but in a vacuum with the right conditions Vein and Cage do more damage.
For a mage Legion is prob still bis since the self-res is more valuable than the pinch of damage on a mostly support class. Caged I feel is too situational personally since Unmoored is the "how long can you go without healing" simulator. Sure wakestones and all heals but 10% hits fast and no one wants to be concerned with topping off constantly to maintain a bit more damage.
@@FightinCowboy Just to be clear the value of Legion is unparalleled. Caged is for Sorc's so the dps could matter to someone who really really cares about such things. It's to much of a nuisance for me to deal with.
@FightinCowboy What are the best daggers before Im able get Heavens Key?
Farrem or however you spell it or the dragon ones
Have you tested Caged Fury vs Dragon's Wit? From what I've seen the magick says it's lower but does much more dmg in practice.
From what I understand it's briefly higher but once you take any health damage it becomes lower
*has most post game weapons already*
“Oh lets see what weapons are best”
How do you reset an enhancement on a weapon? Such as if I want to switch so all three slots are dwarven instead of my current hodgepodge set? Or do I then have to either buy another and enhance it or go into a new game?
Ng+ dragonforged
thank you
will there be one of all the AOE,s
fore ever class build
Would be happy to see a video about the best armor!
Hope they add higher difficulties, also really hope the consider giving warfarer a look over only have 3 skills slot makes it just feel super weak to me, like it should open up more skill slots for each weapon you equip or atleast a second or third set at most
Higher difficulty is absolutely needed, there's not much of a point in doing NG+ as of now because there's basically no challenge anymore.
It would be cool to have more slots for Warfarer, but believe me, it's strong enough as it is. My only gripe with it is the fact that I'd love to be able to slot at least an ulti, having to choose between them and Warfarer isn't ideal.
Ive been playing warfarer, and at first thought same, would make sense if warfarer vocation skill was rearmament instead of having skill replace, but now that I've played I actually think is still stronger this way. One, you basically need the zoom in vocation ability for any archer class to work so if that button was for weapons swapping you'd be gimped, but beyond that you get all the passives for each vocation skill. So I lost one single skill that let me jump up and do damage as a MS, but I get to keep my stunning lightning bolt that affects multiple enemies I can teleport with, as well as more magic archer bolts that can go further and do more damage (better overall imo then one jump up). Plus because its a skill, you can choose to not use. Then you can play whatever, same 4 skills and passive upgrades to vocation skill as you would have with, but also ability to wear whatever armor so things like crazy knockdown resist on vocations that otherwise really struggle with. So the only thing power wise you're losing out on is the maister skills (which all are really good), but otherwise even with one less skill and no maister skills you're still able to get more benefits then you lose to me.
What smith styles would be best for armor?
Dwarven all day.
Hey cowboy, what do you mean post game shop? Like a shop you get once you go into ng+ and if so, is that any vendor or specific vendors?
So once you're into the post-game and you start sending vendors to the new location at the seafloor bed, everyone's inventory updates with a bunch of new high end stuff which in some cases is superior to dragonforged.
Oh, ok. In the unmoored world, got it. Good video, by the way. You should make a video on the unmoored world
Hell yes, was waiting for this video for weeks! Cowboy is GOD Boss!!!!!!!! Love your content
Are you able to do a similar vid but for the best in slot armour sets for each vocation? That would be awesome!!
Yup coming soon
There are spells that deal physical damage (Tornado, Seism, Meteor). I wonder if they scale with the strength stat. The spellbound girl gifts you meteor and a strong physical staff. Anyone tested this?
They don’t
I just purchased Dragon's Bite in NG+ since i had enough crystals (After getting Thief's Weapons and armor, M.A Bow and Mages Weapon + Chest/Leggings, hat looked dumb, didn't buy) before seeing this, it looks cooler than Flight so imma use it instead, good thing i didn't grab the Archer bow, i was actually eyeing hydra husk possibly being better
What about the stave that inflicts silence for main Mage pawn? I only have pawn use all buffs, so would it still silence enemies abilities?
I haven't tested it myself as I see no reason for an arisen to play Mage over a Pawn but I would guess it applies silence on the basic attacks vs. spells. Might be useful but I wouldn't put it over a self-res considering most our spells as a mage are buffs.
@@FightinCowboyagree not better than self-res, but didn’t wanna find the tokens lol. I was hoping maybe it inflicts silence on any enemies under the big dome spellbuff. Edit: also this is for my main pawn.
Yeah if it did something like that I could see it being pretty wild
Is it possible to farm enough wyrmslife crystals to make all these weapons and upgrade them in one playthrough? I accidentally cut my unmoored world journey super short so I am curious if there’s enough time/dragons to farm them
If you rested enough to respawn dragons, i upgraded my main during my playthrough and used a "no upgrade mats" mod to do the breakdown here
Can’t rest too many times in unmoored world.
I believe it's 12 rests max@@sPaCe_NiNjA187
Yes enemies respawn even without resting in the unmoored world. Also run 2 thief’s as they will sometimes steal 200 wrymlife crystals from the drakes.
Legions might is 180 I believe; the dumbest thing on that list is the ring that doubles discipline gain is stuck at the very bottom at 220. I've found 8 so far... whoever thought there needed to be more than 20 can seriously friggin' bite me. At least in DD1 they were tied to ONE quest - and did respawn in locations.
Mate please wich is the best forgery for the Dragon s vein for you? The nanic or the bahktaal forgery?
You're better off with Heavens Key.
@@FightinCowboy thank you the reply, i have the heavens key too, and i ve used the nanic forgery, hope was the best choice
Dwarven is best if you can reset and do that, but TBH it's no big deal either way.
@@FightinCowboy sorry for my english, for nanic i meant dwarven, i ve just done it. Thank you 👍
I've noticed with some upgrades for equipment, Dwarven and Vermundian have no differences except Dwarven increasing weight/Knockdown.
Same with Battahli as well.
So not sure what that is all about.
Dwarven is pretty much universally superior to vermundian for armor. You're going to have slightly more weight in exchange for having a shit ton of poise
@@FightinCowboy ahh I see thx
@@FightinCowboyI think for Thief Vermundian is a good option for armor because a lategame Thief is basically never going to get hit due to Formless Feint. Across 3 pieces of dragonforged armor you can save about 1kg in encumberance with Vermundian enhanced armor which is arguably more useful than the knockdown resistance that goes unused because you never get hit with Thief anyways.
I still went Dwarven mainly cause you never know when you need to have the poise.
What enchants where those on most the weapons where those elvish?
Dwarven by the look of it
The 2 best weapons for warrior are greatswords. I wish it had a hammer as it would match better with the armor I'm wearing.
Just use cinderspine or thunderhammer, they're still solid choices
I wonder what boosts you get when your mage gives you a elemental affinity. Because personally I only use the wounded heart, it's the coolest looking greatsword imo.
It really is and I hope they put a transmog option in so we can have our weapons look like it. The late game weapon designs for warrior really don’t do it for me, especially the dragon bite and the axe.
@@Majin2buu I'm just hoping for an easy to use mod. I doubt they'd put in yransmog
It looks like a painful dildo
Cowboy, have you experimented with enchanted weapons like Heaven's Key going one lvl in battali, one in elvish, and one in dwarf, or do you thing its just better to go full dwarven
Haven't tested it but it'd probably end the same. Battali is phys focus magic deficit, Elven is Mag focus, Phys deficit, dwarven is balanced. Ultimately you'd prob end about the same.
@@FightinCowboy yeah the nioh 2 player in me wants to uber min max even though its not needed. So I figured id shoot the idea past you before I do my own testing.
Best video out there armor video and you're on fire
Who cares about armor when you’re already OP and have the best weapons in game lol , you can be naked and still beat the shit out of everything , armors are there for fashion just put whatever looks good
Been watching you since dark souls 2, how was I not subscribed?
Can down-grade weapons to change the type of upgrade it has?
In NG+ at dragonforged
For sorc caged heart is stronger magic if you can maintain your hp close to max
Been waiting for this. I just got to the volcanic island 90 hours in and have all vocations maxed except for the magick archer and warfarer which I’m working on now. Haven’t really upgraded any weapons besides the first free upgrade since I’ve been maxing out all the vocations. Great video!
Also thanks for going over the upgrades as well. I figured dwarven would be generally best for all weapons aside from mage and sorcerer but I wasn’t too sure about magick archer.
Warfarer xp is shared, so level that first if you want, it will contribute towards MA vocation. Edit: make sure you have MA acquired (only acquired vocations get the XP shared).
@@DefyThemAll I’ve already got mag archer to rank 7 in like 1 1/2 hours or so before I got warfarer. Just gonna max it out since vocation ranks are pretty easy to get. Except for trickster. God did I not have fun with that class.
Can you comment in the daggers you can buy called spite tgey have a poison wonder if it's worth it
Am i missing something? He said you get a free preserved medusa head everytime using daughter of the evening shield but doesnt medusa turn to stone meaning no rewards?
Hmm thought you could petrify then cut it, it's been a while so i may have gotten mixed up.
I saw and hired a level 27 pawn recently who had 2 pieces of endgame gear equipped. I think this pawn was hooked up by a friend who already beat the game. Strangely enough, I also saw a pawn who's Arisen was far behind him in levels. The pawn was level 29 at the time, but I saw this his Arisen was only level 2. How the hell did that happen?
Likely some cheats or mods. There's occasionally a difference if the pawn is using medusa bow to outpace Arisen XP but 2/29 would be too big of a gap.
Having an element on the weapon keeps it from being able to receive elemental buffs from mage though doesn’t it? Using the thief for example I think you’d have to compare the heavens key to a mages element-enhanced dragon’s vein.
Great vid also who else w 1+ million subs takes time to reply to viewers. Cowboy this separates u from other successful content creators 👍
I’m almost at level 50, and I just started exploring Battahl.
Can you make a video on how to play as trickster? Or any tips that you dont see being mentioned often?
TBH trickster would be the last class I do a guide on. Warrior, Thief, Ranger, Magick Archer 2x, and Mystic Spearhand would all get builds first.
Would love to see an armor video for post games by cowboy❤
Honestly comes more down to fashion, there's a ton of pieces that are all similarly rated on defense.
@@FightinCowboy But there’s something about a video made by your favorite creator.
890k rune crystals and over a million gold is freakin insane, lol!
Having an official pawn as a content creator means your pawn gets hired a lot
@@RexDeorumYT Facts! 💯
For real it's nothing when you're a content creator.
890k rc is insane, but 1 mil gold isn't
@@tranngocphat922How do you make 1 mil gold in this game? Most i've had was 300k just by playing. Are there some farms available?
I upgraded Heavens key all rhe wya and my Knockdown is only 489?what did i do wrong ty
Part of the stats you see will be based on your actual class stats. Heavens Key is still gonna be the best but your stats may be slightly different.
I really wish they had done a ur- dragon like in dd1. Also, i wish they had made unmoored world infinite. Fighting stronger versions of enemies would be great.
Yeah we definitely need a challenge to use all this stuff against
Mods boys 😉
Can u tell me pls, what happens to port crystals if u start ng+? Should u collect em before starting New game?
They return to your storage
@@AnsemSenpai Thank u! Btw with new game seeker tokens will be reseted?
no, only the ones you have not yet found still remain@@adhafang9882
they don't reset
The Medusa bow actually weighs 15 pounds. You must’ve got it down to eight with enhancements or the endgame thingy! It’s a hefty one!
Dragon forge lowers weight to half
It was a good run. Min maxing time.
How you get that alot of RC?
Get your pawn rented out a bunch.
hi everyone, How does he have so much RC crystals in dragons dogma 2? and does the chance of hiring pawn in higher level gets lower and lower?
Finding them. Quests. And people using his pawn. It depends really but everyone is relative to each other so it'll depend. Name your pawn SphinxParent or some variation and that'll boost the amount of people using your pawn
@@ChocolateEffigy i see. Is it possible to change pawn name again?
Would be good if you make a video explaining better the end game mechanics.
For the Trickster Stats, Elven seems better than Dwarven no? Your melee hits with the censor don’t seem to knock anything down, and aggro is never an issue - so a higher health pool on your sim via magic would be better right?
Both str and mag are beneficial to trickster, dwarven is basically equal to vermundian but with KO
@@FightinCowboy I get that both stats are beneficial, but STR only increases aggro generation, which is never an issue. Also, knockdown doesn’t seem to be useful at all considering your melee hits barely do damage. I’ve never successfully knocked anything down with the swings.
Then go mag, honestly min maxing isnt necessary regardless
I don’t think dragons wit is the strongest sorcerer weapon. I think that heavily depends on your build. My Sorcerer pawn has 2K health and Caged Fury already has high magic plus it scales additionally off health. At level 87 It looks like my pawn is doing way more damage with it.
How u achieve str & magic dmg 1k?
By upgrading.
I love low level maxing...
Like as a level one, running into the hardest boss or dungeon, outluck and outwit everything and after lots of difficulty, you walk out with the best tier loot at the start; just being able to find it and have no requirements to use it.
Then I go back to the starting area, to do the first quest to kill a goblin or gather something, but with God-tier gear to speed to the cutscenes and skip gameplay.
I like doing that when I need control over my time..
Do I want this fight to last, so I want to enjoy it?
then I won't use OP stuff, just my skills..
Or;
do I need to hurry up becuase I got no time and Im just trying to get past something I've already done quickly?
Then I'd want OP gear to hurry..
Players should be given that freedom in all single player games
Man, was looking forward to NG+, having all the gear, but fighting much harder enemies... So disappointed to find out that NG+ does not scale in any way like that :( Hope they add this "hard mode" in a way that you can NG+ with it.
Btw: Thanks for all the Dragons Dogma info :)
You are the best
I think with the sharp weapons you want battali so you can more easily chop limbs off. Just sayin
Doesn't work that way afaik
bro how do you have so many rift crystals and gold
I can barely wait 7-8 months for the DLC. The leaks showed November 29th. I'm lvl 73 and everything is just too easy and I didn't even get to endgame, got there too quick it made 0 sense to me. I still have to talk to ambrosia guy. (My pawns just snipe drake off existence in 1min or less, I barely have to do anything, might as well play trickster and chill)
Where is the dragon forge to buy all these?
At his cave north of bakbattal
Wait hold up… all this time….. all the upgrades…. Whatchu mean upgrades it ain’t just one upgrade across the whole thing? Like I go to upgrade use on my weapon. the weapon guy in Vernworth is a different upgrade than in Bakbattahl?
Correct
@@FightinCowboy 🤯 wow
Is it possible to stay infinitely in the endgame?
Do a best armor
I don't think Dwarven is the best for Trickster weapon, I think Vermundian is better. I maxed out the Whimsical Daydream in Vermundian style and my stats are,
Strength 473
Magick 835
Knockdown 142
vs Dwarven
Strength 551
Magick 666
Knockdown 198
I have 78 less strength but I have 169 more magick meaning my Effigy will have more health, we have a move to pull aggro (Suffocating Shroud) so 78 strength isn't as important, I don't think knockdown is important at all for a Censer.
Vermundian should be identical to Dwarven except less knockdown at max and lower weight. Keep in mind the stats shown are as Warfarer so they won't match your own if you're trickster.
@@FightinCowboyYeah, you're right. Vermund and Dwarve are the same apart from weight and knockdown. I don't think knockdown has any value for the Censer though.
I mean it is kinda mace like who knows lol
you can't get a preserved head from a petrified medusa lol
Isn't dead fang the best duospear?
Dead ringer and no
@@FightinCowboy yeah dead ringer ofc. Many youtube guides says it is
@@jonassjveianhalvorsen146 Many people jump on hype trains without testing anything. It's good but it's completely outclassed by Lindworm Fang. Fully upgraded Lindfang is almost 20% stronger on stats. Rhewynt also has higher stats.
The big benefit of Dead Ringer is how early you can get it.
@@FightinCowboy i see, thank you so much for the answer
Wish I had your RC and gold haha
Cant wait for angry people to be in here about why the best stuff is largely from the in-game stores. Im so tired with the influx of the new players hating the game lmao
Awesome video man, even if i have most of this stuff.
Thanks for the spoiler warning I'll come back to this vid later😊
Your favorite vocation so far?
Thief
Why do you have so much rc ??
How did you get so much gold?
Selling old gear, clearing caves, fighting in unmoored world.
@@FightinCowboy I never think to sell gear haha. But I also still haven’t got to end game. Just been exploring everything and taking my time.
Timestamps would help
I can add em later
honestly the game is not hard anymore XD
i will just use best locking one.
Why does the game have no transmog 😅
same reason the first game didn't
How did you get so much money 💰 😮
How the hell do you have so much gold? I'm strapped for gold in end game
Sell old gear, explore everything.
Anyone got a gold farm after the shopkeepers leave melve ?
Sell old gear, sell excessive mats, do the 10K gold pawn quests.
Basically all BIS weapons are vendor purchases.... that's lame.
My pawn guys COHFE942CCR5 drop yours too so we can all summon
The Dragons Veil are actually terrible, the Framae are better than them in almost every way. Heavens Key is the best
Someone explain to me how this man is not even lvl 80 yet has all that money. Not worried about his RC. I’m lvl 70 and only have a maxed out set for my pawn and myself yet this guys has all of them maxed the xp doesn’t add up bro
Sell gems, sell old/spare equipment, raid caves. Money is pretty easy to build up.
Battahli isnt good for bows i take it? I got only 30 more str than dwarwen on medusa bow at least, in exchange for a significant loss on knockdown
