Tip you can change the fashion with the Warfarer vocation. Just put all the 4 skills you want as magic archer don’t switch weapons stay with magic archer weapon and enjoy putting whatever armor or robes you want. Then carry a staff to manually change if you need to levitate to another place and that’s it enjoy traveling. Edit Also Condescent orb should be F tier because it cremates the boss or enemy’s if you don’t remove it or spawn it in another place. In short it deletes your loot if you don’t remove it.
Except for the fact that you now have lower base stats on Warferer than on Magick Archer directly, which is the downside of Warfarer. Also, you have the additional carry weight of all weapons in inventory if you don't have Rearmament slotted and weapons 'equipped'.
Just keep in mind, it will target your pawns FIRST if they're in front of you. I stopped using this skill, even though it was fun, because I constantly had to use the 'To Me' command just so I could get a clear sniping shot to enemies directly in front of me.
Finally, Lifetaking Arrow is getting what it deserves. The only problem I have with it is the fact that it can friendly fire if you don't hit an enemy first. I sometimes accidentally killed NPCs and wandering pawns. Those poor souls.

I grew tired of having to always use the 'To Me' command just so I could send a snipe shot of Lifetaking Arrow at the enemies in front of me. I also haven't found it to kill NPCs, but I have seen it kill other open world pawns.
Warfarer with Sagittate Avalanche and Augural Flare is my favorite right now, third spell can be Lifetaker Arrow for pack clears or whatever floats your boat, but bosses simply do not even attempt to survive Augural + Sagittate
Im playing my first run through of this game now, i started as a thief and didnt like it so went archer and then stubbled on a video of how to get magick archer early....... i was early game so my archer wasnt that strong but then i got MA and the difference in power was unbelievable!! I went from struggle town to easy street in an instant!
Easy way to get loads of Allheal potions. Search for level 1-12 level pawns at a rift, have to be on network to get player pawns. Have plenty of different arrows. You will see quests offering 4 all heal potions for an exploding arrow for example Just hire them , give them the item to receive them , then keep checking pawns. I ended up with over 40 doing this. Also works the same way to get gold, you will see ones offering 12 onyx for a certain arrow. I got 108 onyx doing this 1 time which if am not mistaken was over 500k of gold.
100 onyx goes for about 227k..? I think but either way I did it twice and I ended up with 500k after two runs, the onyx sells for 2400 per piece only in vernworth
Kinda crazy you uploaded this as I just became a magic archer last night… this is perfect and the fact you said the life stealing skill is a sleeper skill. No one in any other videos I ever seen about magic archer mentions the staggering. I’m guessing they literally didn’t even bother to check. I disagree with your thoughts about Candescent Orb. It is great fire-and-forget against wolves. It also acts as a long-lasting AOE DOT against goblins and passive damage on big enemies. Shoot it once and proceed to use other skills. Its damage may not be the best, but every little bit dealt by it is damage that doesn't have to be dealt by pawns/you. It sets hairy enemies and griffins on fire. And it is actually great against skeletons, because it immediately destroys their skulls as soon as they are popped off. I got a lot of usage out of this particular skill.
I'm going to assume you didnt know sparkchain can target 5 things while aimed? It can target 5 point on 1 enemy to deal pretty solid damage or it can target 5 enemies to keep them stunlocked.
I wish these classes could be used by pawns too, would be interesting and allow a lot of mix-ups, but I also wish they'd bring in new classes too (Mystic Knight is always in my heart)
I mained MA in dd1. Just wish the basic attack had a little more oomph you know? I don't need the quickfire projectiles to do more damage, just more exiting animations. Maybe fly a little faster and have some cooler sound effects
Re: bad fashion -- if you are a magic archer, it didn't matter what armor you wear. Use the rule of cool and just dress in better looking non-specific attire. Another option, if you don't need martyr's bolt, is to just be wayfarer and grab 4 archer skills. You can get around the lack of the wayfarer swap skill by just carrying extra utility weapons around (like a staff to have levitate and heal)
With Blazefang arrow: After loosing the arrow with manual aim, you can briefly correct it's path so it's going where you want and then press your holster weapon / cancel attack button to immediately regain control. So you can follow up with other abilities faster and have the blazefang strike coincide with other abilities. Or swiftly send out a staggered barrage of multiple accurate blazefang arrows like artillery.
Life taking arrow is just ranged immolation from the first game. All I did was walk around setting myself on fire walk into an enemy, one tap them, on hard mode.
I use ricochet hunter to kill the dragon fast.. all you need is to aim the ground under the dragon heart.. shot it and it bounce from the ground to the dragon.. and it fastest kill I ever had when I use this skill.. even in open place.. as long you know how to use it even it's not very powerful when use it on epen shot... Just make it bounce and it so powerful😊
So Im on my first play through and just unlocked MA and I'm wondering if the class got nerfed or if I'm playing it totally wrong cause I'm doing very low damage compared to the other vocations I been playing (thief and warrior), even used the Meister skill once or twice and even when using my full hp bar it "only" Took 1 bar and half of a gryphon's health
Magic Archer is very strong, but I'm more into close combat or regular archer not sure what but something on it push me away, however it is almost a most to have one of it's skills if you go with wayfarer.
FUCKING HELL WHY HAVE I BEEN SLEEPING ON LIFETAKING ARROW. Like seriously my biggest enemy that I absolutely hate fighting are harpies not cause they are flying or deal big damage but because they are just super annoying to deal with they grab you they toss you and they put you to sleep and freeze you which is what I really don’t need when fighting a drake
Had to laugh at your commentary on Martyr's Bolt, because so far- at level 52- I still cannot 'one-shot' a drake like some videos have shown. So I end up with a sliver of health left over, and have to run around like crazy avoiding damage while blasting them with Frosthunter to finish the job. Kinda sucks, but it's still a fun skill to use. EDIT: I dropped Martyr's Bolt and just spam Frosthunter against Drakes. I have to say I have not enjoyed Sagittate, it reminds me a lot of the basic attack, and found that I was using Frosthunter much more often. After re-watching this, I may have to give Sagittate another go.
Martyrs bolt is probably the worst skill in the game. Not because its bad but because you can veriy easily remove the fun from the game by using it. The fact that final boss doesn't have any safeguard against it is a joke.
I really think Arctic bolt deserves a higher spot. It does insane stagger when fully charged, only dragons and the sturdiest undead can resist being knocked back by it and even then, barely. It also does a lot of physical damage so it's good for golems and other magic resistant enemies. Combined with the temporary elemental enchantment core skill, i found it basically invalidated the other frost skill for me. Plus it's hilarious to just launch a glacier at something's face.
Magick archer is the reason I have brainrot. I mained it in the first Dragons Dogma and have sworn by it ever since for how hilariously overpowered it is.
Artic Bolt should be at a higher ranking. Indeed, while the damage is not amazing, it has insane knockdown potential. 2 Artic Bolts will be enough to stagger 99% of the enemies
#12 should have been a Mage Skill. #10 LOL, in my Lower levels I used this Skill to Light up Caves and very dark Areas. #8 Another mage Skill. Or they Should have given this to the Trickster. cuz the Trickster is ass water. #7 I Love this Skill. Best one to have when you play as the Warfare. #5 Before I even enter a cave I fire this bad boy down the Hole. #3 My Number one skill to use. #2 Made me Laugh too much to focus on the fight. My Pawn Team were Gods and Enemys had no chance to even move.
I’d argue ricochet hunter does more damage than martyrdom shot skill since it can potentially hit multiple targets including bosses. Everything is dead no matter how many.
That's what I do. I also wasn't equipping Rearmament so I had four MA skills... but then grew annoyed because without Rearmament, you now have the full carry-weight of all weapons in your inventory. I like to have bow, daggers and staff available to use their basic skills for specific situations, but don't need their weapons skills. That's a bit of weight to be carrying around until you find all the Trove Beetles- or you have to sacrifice combat rings just to wear extra inventory weight rings.
@@ADarklore my usual wayfarer build is generally: Aroma to to buff pawns sith the cokaine. The buff lasts 25 deconds. Rearmamant because weighht and convenience. Then 2 skill i use most from whatever floats my boat at that day. My pawn gets to carry all the weapons i am nlt currently using. But he is a big boi, he manages. Magic qrcher realistically only needs sleep arrows and one of the barrage shots, either frosthunter or the magic dakka thing. And the sleep is kinda optional depending on the pawn pased cheese.
Quick tips, when you go in town and encounter boss fight, any Weapons or Skills that doesn't lock-on to enemy can target friendly fire. It happens to me not knowing i killed npc while keep spaming melee to a dragon.
It's annoying, but also pretty much unnecessary unless you don't actually want to FIGHT. I was using it when I first got the vocation unlocked, but found that it would only take a drake down to 2 health bars, and I was left running around with a sliver of health. Yet, when I dropped it and just went to spamming Frosthunter Bolt, the drake fights got much less stressful.
@@ADarklore I think the point is that is is not meant to be unnessary. It is a masters skill that is supposed to be useful. You have to complete a quest to unlock it. If you want to 1 shot kill things, drop magic archer and use an arrow of unmending with a plain archer. Magic archer is only good for the auto-lock and elemental attacks.
Magick archer is literally boring to me. Not because the play style, it’s my favorite vocation in both games. But fuck it’s so strong 😂 I literally started a new game after reaching level 150+ and my basic attack was like taking half a Minotaurs hp bar 💀 I ended up with frost hunter bolt, candescent orb, lifetaking arrow, and the final one from this video that I would swap to ricochet if I was going anywhere inside.

magick archer is more a support than a dps but its good in both ways, and i love both of is version supp and dps. its a good choice if you want to play supp and dont want to pick the mage it should be a class for the pawns too and i fucking love the fashion of this class is soo classy and elegant with the big elven influence its remaind me lord of the ring just love the elven things
cant throw my pawn off a cliff, love them too much ✨️💙 YES mag archer clothes are horrid, is why I use wayfarer for it and dont even have rearmament lol. Low stats but imma still look good 😎
@@tauanwerneck3197 wayfarer has better mag stat gain leveling up than magic archer yes. but wayfarer own base magic stat is lower than magic archer oddly enough. For me, the magic stat difference of two classes is magic archer having about 200 mag or so than wayfarer.

A tip for blazefang arrow is that you can cancel the manual aim once you've lined up your shot to begin the next skill. Mapped to LT by default.

Sagittate Avalanche on a group of foes is awesome, you try to get as many locks as possible before the timer refocuses on one guy and it deletes them

This class seems so OP compared to the others it's crazy. I had to stop since it makes the already easy endgame/ng+ way easier.
Boltchain is A tier for stagger alone. It prevents mob packs from coming close to you.

Weird because I had a mage pawn activate Maelstrom in the middle of Vernworth and no NPCs died.
I can cope with the archer ultimate taking your stamina, but the magic archer ultimate taking your health is terrible.

I could be wrong but Warfarer actually has better stats than MA. MA is the lowest stat class in the game, followed by Warfarer.
