Thanks for the video. I replaced my ECM and now it's not idling right. I'm thinking that my fix is going to be the same as yours. Cause that 3min/1min relearn didn't work for me either. Bro, a lot of people in the comments keep asking about your stereo setup. You should make a video about it. Show your setup and talk about the pros and cons. Shit, I'd watch it.
that happened to me after cleaning my throttle body. So I reconnected everything back and left it over night and next day started back to normal. it’s weird how these computer gadgets in cars work
You didn’t have to relearn it with a computer. Preform the 3-60-3 step once and drive for 25-30 minutes above 45 mph acceleration, and deceleration during the drive and it’ll relearn on it own. If none of that works that yes computer relearn is the last option.
I don't remember I knew the manager at this place at the time and he gave me a deal. But If I could remember correctly they charged me 1 hr of labor around 100 to 150
Yea hopefully you got it fixed. But most definitely ran alot better all cleaned up. I havnt had any idle issues since this video. But I did just rebuild my transmission at 120k miles
@MannyFiguresItOut sorry I don't recall. I belive mine was in great shape did not need replacing. If it's warped or crushed replace. It will most likely be an additional part not included.
@danielrivas9987 also I think when I noticed that ac problem I changed out my serpentine belt because I thought it was slipping. Then I think my next step was cleaning throttle body.
@@dannyarellano86 I took off the throttlebody and forgot to disconnect the battery on the ground side and put a new throttlebody on think it will fix it but it’s doing the same thing I was thinking about taking the new one off and putting the old one back on and cleaning it and try to do the method of turning it on and turning it off but now idle in parked I took the ac on its idle high the rpm fluctuating very high up and down
@danielrivas9987 yea the same thing that happened to me luckily they refunded me without any questions but some autopart stores are weird about refunds on parts with electronics.
But you will need a technician to hook up a computer so it can relearn itself. All the things I read about turn it on off press gas pedal down.. all that didn't work but once it was hooked up to a computer it relearned everything in like 15 mins or so.
I ended up taking it to Chevy dealership wasn’t cheap ($800).. unfortunately you have to take it to them unless you have a tech friend that has the right equipment to get it fixed.
Yes I drove to work that day, hoping it just needed to be driven. Problem just seemed to get worse engine was idling high wasted a bunch of gas and was over heating.
Did you keep useing the old throttle body and got it relearn or did you replace it and got it relearn?? I just bought the throttle body but maybe i could return it 😂 and keep using my old one??
Let me guess, you didn't disconnect the negative battery terminal before taking harness loose.. lol. If you had, you wouldn't have had any issues. I'm not trying to put you down, just teaching you something valuable. As I learned it the hard way!
If you keep them disconnected from beginning to end, you won’t have to have it reset at a shop? Got a 2012 Chevy Colorado that needs the throttle body cleaned but want to avoid taking it in to be reset if I can
You really want to make it easy unhook negative wrap in clean shop rag unhook positive wrap in clean shop rag do your replace or cleaning leave cables unhooked for ten or more minutes hook everything else up reverse process for battery get in truck turn key on turn back off turn key on press gas pedal five times slowly start up and you should be good to go
While parked in idle my rpms would jump up and down fluctuating randomly. I noticed mpg was getting worse. Idle was rougher not crazy noticeable but I could tell... so I opened and Inspected the throttle body noticing all the carbon build up. And decided to clean it
@Installed1 it was fluctuating just above and below 500rpm up and down noticeable. Now I'm sitting right on 500 line. It's been great ever since no issues. But when it was doing it I could hear the engine idle up and down very noticeable weird.
Literally going thru this now!
Thank you so much!
Heard you must disconnect the battery before messing with throttle body negative terminal at least
Make video about that screen you have there
Yeah I noticed that to it's nice looks like a huge iPad or Tesla screen 🤔.
Thanks for the video. I replaced my ECM and now it's not idling right. I'm thinking that my fix is going to be the same as yours. Cause that 3min/1min relearn didn't work for me either.

I havent cleaned it but i did have my throttle body placed through warranty and now i noticed. At idle i see rpm flicker u can feel it too
I’m having the same issue. thank you! ✊🏾

I tried that for 2 days lol..got the computer.
How much do they charge you for relearning?
I don't remember I knew the manager at this place at the time and he gave me a deal. But If I could remember correctly they charged me 1 hr of labor around 100 to 150
Appreciate the video
My truck relearned itself while watching this video 🤣🙏🏼
Helped a lot thank you
Wat CD player that is
Thank you for this video. I'm in the same boat
Yea hopefully you got it fixed. But most definitely ran alot better all cleaned up. I havnt had any idle issues since this video. But I did just rebuild my transmission at 120k miles
These silverado transmissions are trash 🗑
@@dannyarellano86 recently got my transmission rebuilt at 130k miles I feel you
How did you Hook your iPad up to your Silverado
Orders some magnets and added a plate behind the tablet. Holds well just things I found on Amazon
Did you replace the gasket when re-installing the old one? Did the new one come with one?
@MannyFiguresItOut sorry I don't recall. I belive mine was in great shape did not need replacing. If it's warped or crushed replace. It will most likely be an additional part not included.
Did you experience any Engine Reduce Power Problems ?
No didn't have engine reduce power issues. Maybe you have a misfire check your wires and spark plugs.
Were you having a issue with shaking while driving? I’m having the same issue with that. As well as while driving the truck, shakes at certain speeds.
Yes it was idling rough enough to feel a bit of shake. Also overheating
Mine is tuned will this effect the tune
Did this affect your tune ?
@@rafaelmoreno4220 no it didn't..
Did you have a problem while your AC was running? Was your rpm fluctuating up and down
@danielrivas9987 I don't remember but I want to say yes. With the ac on I think it was acting weird but when the ac was off it was idling Normal.
@danielrivas9987 also I think when I noticed that ac problem I changed out my serpentine belt because I thought it was slipping. Then I think my next step was cleaning throttle body.

Thanks for the video I’m having that issue after I installed a S&B intake
Me tooo..thats why Im watchin this video..im pissed lol
I’m have the same issue, I have a 2015 Tahoe and I installed the new s&b. Check engine light came on
I ended up taking it to Chevy dealership wasn’t cheap ($800).. unfortunately you have to take it to them unless you have a tech friend that has the right equipment to get it fixed.
@@anuwarruiz2730 what did they do, to fix the issue?
That happened to me and that’s what I did this old guy told me to take it in because it had to get reprogram
Rpm should sit around 950 at idle yours looks alittle low ,wonder why
What kind of screen is that? Thanks
It's just a samsung tablet, I used magnet mounts to secure it to my dadh. Works great 👍 simply use it for movies and music GPS. Connected by Bluetooth
Did you drive it around like that before you took it in to get reprogrammed? I recently changed my throttle body and am having same issues.
Yes I drove to work that day, hoping it just needed to be driven. Problem just seemed to get worse engine was idling high wasted a bunch of gas and was over heating.
What info center you got ?
It's a Samsung S7 FE tablet, I have some magnetic phone mounts holding it. Must have
Leaves ur battery hookup u loose power then c lean it or clear code un hook battery let set then rehook battery all codes gone
Did you keep useing the old throttle body and got it relearn or did you replace it and got it relearn??
I just bought the throttle body but maybe i could return it 😂 and keep using my old one??
I returned the new one and kept my old one. But I may have gotten lucky on that depends on your auto parts store return policy

Bro where bro what kind of head unit radio is that? That’s 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks bro, it's a samsung s7 tablet used some Amazon mounting magnets to mount it. Holds strong looks great
Should have disconnected battery before removing throttle body to clean 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Buy old VW and you won't have to worry about any of that crap
Lol
That k&n filter let’s small particles through the filter. Get rid of it, go back to paper filters.
K&n is supposed to have filter oil on it so the particles wont get thru it if that’s on the filter
Why again did you have to clean it the rpms were all over the place or did it have a slight misfire feel to it?
While parked in idle my rpms would jump up and down fluctuating randomly. I noticed mpg was getting worse. Idle was rougher not crazy noticeable but I could tell... so I opened and Inspected the throttle body noticing all the carbon build up. And decided to clean it
And since this video I have yet to see my rpms fluctuate like before. Drives great again
When you say fluctuate how high or low are you talking? Mine seems to move up and down on the 500 RPM line..
@Installed1 it was fluctuating just above and below 500rpm up and down noticeable. Now I'm sitting right on 500 line. It's been great ever since no issues.
