Joe Pavelski.. he is a free agent. A lot of people think after a very poor playoffs and his age that he will retire. If he wants one more year, I think the Sharks should give it to him. One of the biggest issues for the Sharks is the the locker room leadership. Bringing in a quality veteran like Pavs can really help mold a very young team and also its a move that will please the fan base that is hurting.
I was coming to the comments to make a post just like this. Pavs would be awesome for the young group and regardless of Couture's health would be great back in teal.
Another highend option I would like to see us pick up is Chandler Stevenson. I would pay him about what Monaghan gets, (3x5-5.5). The bonus is we take him away from LV. If we have to pay one of these guys a little more to sign with us we can because we have the cap to do it.
I would really prefer if the sharks got one of the more higher end talent like you said with Monaghan and Wennberg but I really think they will have trouble attracting players like that, even with Celebrini signing an elc. I suspect a couple gun for fire type players which as long as they fit nicely with the team I wouldn’t mind either. Great as always!
I'd really like to get Adam Henrique (or any of the guys you mentioned) on a 1 year deal -- have Grier pay him 6mil if that's what it takes. Henrique makes the most sense to realistically entertain just a 1 year deal because of his age and play. I think it's a fair sigining. The cap space and roster spot next season is then freed up for a big fish FA like Draisaitl/Marner.
Honestly I think we stay away from signing free agent forwards, try to get ekmanlarson and Tyson Barrie and let the young bucks earn their future spot in the line up, start to figure out who’s gonna end up being trade bait and who’s not
I’m a fan of Rutta & Burrows, vets on the right side, we’re super inexperienced (besides Pickles) on the left… I think Rutta/Burrows can be traded to a contender???
Couture needs to decide if he is going to play SOON. Then Mike needs to sign a hood replacement. The Sharks are in an improving position. One more sub par year and high 2025 draft picks will super charge the rebuild. We need a top offensive and punishing defensive defensman with the top forward prospects. Just look at the current Stanley Cup Playoffs. That's what you need.
John Tavares for Ferraro & Couture? They could place Clutch on IR (like a Mark Stone play) near the deadline.. to rest him up for the playoffs. What’s legal, is fair… as VGK does. JT off the books in Toronto, would free up cap space with Cooch on IR to acquire more pieces at the deadline.

Jack Roslovic would be a great target
The more I think of it, the longer Greer waits the less chance he gets the UFA he wants.

Other than Granlund, the Sharks don't have much of anything left to trade. You have to start building

I don't think Couture will know if he can play until he gets on the ice for training camp.
