@jhon mathew Don't judge a book by its cover Mr. I am an assamese from Assam. I am from Nalbari district. What kind of name and title sounds assamese as according to you? I am a people from Kalita community living in Tihu, Nalbari District,Lower Assam part . My parents did intercast marriage. My father Babul Chandra Deka who is also an assamese following sankari religion married to my mather pranita devi from an assamese brahmin family. Though they did intercast marriage I write my father's gotra as my title. It's very unfortunate and painful for me that someone has questioned in my assameseness . Mr. Always bora, gogoi, phukan etc. doesn't represent assamese people. Be broad minded and try to tell with proof and authentication.

Sir Kosu means ARBI in Hindi or Taro Root in English..The Kosu leaves that you are eating, is a traditional food in Assam..People use budding Arbi leaves which are not yet fully bloomed, for cooking.. it is called "Kosur Thur"..Thank you for exploring my Assam with so much detail.

When ,in 1993, I went to Aligarh, we found two elephant apple trees in a university hostel. The trees grew straight -not like those grown in Assam or Bengal - and they planted as decorative trres .The valuable ripe fruits , falling from the trees, covered the ground below .When we , the two Assamese there, told that it is a very good vegetable, and this can be pickled, the others from different states were astonished. In Aligarh, perhaps no one knows the food value and medicinal value of the fruit.

You enjoy the food so much that it is a pleasure watching you eating more than the food itself. Enjoy
