    The winner of the recent poll on the channel was Fallout 4, so that is what I'll be playing next on the channel! I have never played any of the Fallout series before so this will be a blind playthrough. I'll record episodes of this and drop other bits of content in between, I hope you enjoy!

      I have just found it for the first time ever! It was on a dead scavenger by a Jury rigged eyebot pod, north of Linn Woods tower and west of the Parsons mental hospital (may have got the name wrong but you probably get it) North east on the map not too far from Coastal cottage. Mind the death-claws !

    I have to say, the Automatron DLC is second only to the Workshop DLC in my books. Making kick butt robots to travel between your settlements is so much fun. I always get a kick out of seeing a raider post being decimated by one of my robots while the Brahmin runs and hides! It brings the wasteland to life to see one of your own independently travelling around taking on the bad guys. You can also travel with them to have effectively, another tough companion for a while providing you are prepared to go the route they choose. Great DLC and worth the effort even if you only do the first bit with Ada. I think you only have to agree to help her and she gives you the plans for the Robot workbench.

      That's awesome! I've heard they count as settlers, therefore reduce happiness in the way other robots do. So I might have to think about what settlements have them

      @@mike-thegamingdad That is true, they have a max happiness of 50 so you either have a settlement full of just robots (which will never leave you) or balance them with enough happy settlers to keep the average high enough. I use a lot of rugs and pot plants and the machines from the Vault set to keep the happiness high.

    I use the Captain Cosmos spacesuit. Super high radiation resistance and no fall damage. I've been to the glowing sea many times and am not affected by the radiation. It's great!

    Robots make great provisioners to run supply lines between your settlements.

      Yeah if I complete this questline I'll make sure I set those up, do they count as a settler when you make them (and require a bed) or not? I'm going to assume it's the latter, would be dumb if they took up bed space

      Unfortunately, from a settlement "building" standpoint, the game considers a robot a "settler" and they are counted towards all the requirements to maintain your happiness level. If you check the settlement where you sent Ada, you will see that she counts as a settler. If a Robot "Stays" at a particular settlement and you assign it duties, the "happiness" level will go down as settlers do not like robots. All provisioners are count as settlers at the settlement where they are "based" even thought they really are never there. So, food, water and defense requirements rise for every perovisioner.

      @screamday ah thats a shame, well I guess I could run robot supply lines from 1 settlement to multiple then, so as to not lower happiness at lots of settlements. E.g. just use gray gardens and spider Web to lots around that area

    There's a bunch of different glitches you can get from TH-cam. The one I use mostly is duplicate. You can duplicate most of the junk in your workshop. Watch the videos on it. I duplicated so much gold.wood, steel, all the items you need to build turrets. There's a glitch where you can make yourself as much caps as you want. A glitch to build up your XP faster, when your settlements are filled and you can't build anymore there's an easy glitch to fix that so you can build even more on that settlement. Pretty much you drop all your weapons then you store them in your workshop then you'll see the meter going down. You keep repeating that process till it's empty again

    Some healing items, like squirrel on a stick, weigh only tenth of a weight unit. You have less than thirty stimpaks, so maybe they could be useful. I've got 400 stimpaks on my current playthrough that I started when the "next gen upgrade" was out. I've got that many because of all the foods I eat. Using much more stimpaks than last time though, because I'm playing on hard and taking a lot more limb-damage, than on normal.

      Wow that's a lot! I need to use the food I've got, I have a lot of steaks and stuff I've cooked off, I should use that over stimpacks really for the weight

      I use food to heal as well. I only use a stim if I'm in the middle of a really tough fight and I'm losing hp.

      Yes food is the more practical healing item. Not only does it give you hp but many give you buffs for a while. Deathclaw, radstag, mutant hound, mirelurk and vegetable soup are my favourites.
      Danse had a “code of ethics “ very similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean! “ Take what you want, give nothing back”! I can’t stand the BOS though it’s worth playing through every Faction to experience the storylines.

    I appreciate your patience with the building aspect, I just get too frustrated with the clipping and placement issues so I just go with Sim Settlements and let every village build their own😄

    Robot makes for excellent supply caravans. And, if you want the attacks to end, run through that DLC that you started with Mechanical Menace

    You triggered the Automatron DLC. You'll get a lot of awesome robot parts/mods. You can put lead lining on one of your power armor sets and use it in the Glowing Sea. I think it's level 25 before you start finding better power armor.

    That ghoul trader in good neighbor carries fusion cores and those respn in 72 hrs or so game time FYI. I mean either her or an armorer weapons dealer

    Your invisible affinity bar with Nick will trigger him to ask you to help him with a personal matter. It will then pause until you complete his personal quest whereupon you’ll unlock his perk.

    I think you can speak to Danse here and ask to go to the Prydwyn. Then when you get there speak to Lancer Captain Kells, he’s the black guy commanding the Prydwyn. Then you hand in Lost Patrol. Or you might have to do a mission each for the other two at the police station and then you can go to the Prydwyn. I’m not certain.

    I know they’re useless but being so close to Diamond City and going in there anyway, you could have just sold those pipe weapons instead of dumping them. Especially the incendiary laser rifle with the burning effect. Just a thought.

      Ah okay I've not got that far yet as he didn't ask for help with anything, I'd quite like to get that finished though as I want to mix up the companions and complete more of them

    MassFusion building you walked by on your way to Goodneighbor is a good place to explore. Lots of Gunners, but a unique item at the very top. A bit hard to spot.

    All settlers are protected - they can go down, but only die from your damage

      Is that everyone called 'settler' or named ones as well like Blake? As I'd seen comments on here saying some of the Abernathys got killed on their saves

      I have had Mr Finch die many times, I can’t say for sure that it wasn’t one of my turrets that killed him though. Each time I come back to the farm he has a different face and clothing which is annoying as I kit out my settlers really well!

    You can make floating turrets to protect your settlements. Build the stair platform from the floor item in the workshop go as high as you can then lay out a grid along the boundary of your settlement. I use all the wooden floors for that. Can you set up your turrets everywhere then remove the floors one by one work your way back down the stairs and you'll have floating turrets. The enemy can't shoot at them cuz they're too high up. I built them in sanctuary City I have about 200 floating turrets lol nothing I mean nothing gets in

    Aw man. You didnt listen to any of the memories. I mean, you watched the memory scenes in the Memory Den, but within each memory, I cant believe you didnt see the "Access Memory" (A) options when you were hovering over Kellogg, his baby, the institute people in the memory, the window in San Francisco in the memory where he and his wife are starting out. If you had, the playback would pause and you'd hear Kellogg give an opinion on each item: his baby, him, his mom, him as a kid, you, your baby, the golden gate bridge, all kids of stuff.
    Oh well, next playthrough :)

    - Ah, you've started Mechanical Menace. Get ready for your settlements to be relentlessly attacked by robots and a new raider faction.
    - Tina De Luca from Vault 81 isn't a trader for your settlement. She will just become a standard settler, with no dialogue. There is a trader from Vault 81 called Rylee, who you can recruit, but she is found somewhere else. Rylee will only go to settlements which have at least 10 settlers. I won't say where you can find her, except that you have to travel quite far east.
    - Nick has a quest, which will take you all over the Commonwealth, that he will want you to complete before you get his perk.
    - 17:14 - The inaccessible door is tied to a quest which you might encounter later in the game. There is also a large basement in that building, which you didn't explore.
    - In order to get the pie in most Port-a-Diners, you need a lot of Luck.
    - 28:01 - There's the safe you were looking for. However, it's not worth opening until after you have been to the Prydwen.
    - With the exception of Diamond City Surplus, which is open 24 hours, stores are usually open between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.
    - It's odd that while you have Nick with you, you have to go see Piper to talk about Kellogg. Besides saying the line, "gets his brains blown out" which gets Nick thinking about Dr. Amari, Piper doesn't actually add anything useful to the conversation. One would assume that you could tell Nick about what you scooped out of Kellogg's head, and completely bypass talking to Piper.
    - The sign with the missing lettering above the Memory Den reads: "Monday is Ladies Night. Wednesday All Star Vaudeville Revue."
    - Whilst in Kellogg's memories if you press A when you see the Access Memory prompt appear, the memory will pause and Kellogg will provide a short narration about the memory you accessed. If you missed a narration, you can wait and the memory will restart a few seconds after it finishes.
    - Kent Connolly has an interesting quest for you. It's fairly lengthy, but it's pretty good. Daisy, the ghoul shopkeeper near the entrance to Goodneighbor may also have some work for you.
    - I know you wanted to complete certain objectives this episode, but by bee lining straight to those objectives, you missed a few unmarked locations. Fallout 4 rewards those who take their time and explore.

    There's an apparel seller in Diamond City, directly opposite the noodles robot, who has "hazmat suit" in stock. It has rad resistance 1000. It's not really armor though and in the glowing sea you'd be better off with power armor, but in most other irradiated spots I use hazmat suit. Maybe you can have power armor over hazmat suit, can't remeber.

      Ah cool thanks for the tip! I may stick with the power armor as I've heard enemies around there are rough, so it'll save me having to flip between power the hazmat suit and armor. But I can take a suit as well just incase if they don't weigh a lot

      Armor and Power armor do not stack. It's one or the other.

    Be careful about doing the brotherhood of steel stuff if you want to do the Minuteman quests line instead because they are odds with each other

      Ok you are getting in to the meat of the main story ... don't forget to bring a complete set of power armor for you and your companion... and enough stims
      Also ... furthering the preston storyline will get you deeper in minutemen faction (which has its benefits down the road)
      Furthering the brotherhood storyline gives brotherhood faction offcourse
      And furthering the main storyline will get you to know faction number 3
      If you want to meet faction number 4 you need to follow the freedom trail
      Oh if we can vote for the next build ... I say starlight drive-in

    So to continue with no spoiling the game for Mike...🤔
    There are 3 kinds of followers in FO4. The majority you will just eventually max out the relationship with and you will (after a final piece of dialog) get an unmissable notification on your screen. A few will "peak" and after special dialog you'll have a quest to complete before affinity can max. And very few have no perk or affinity (like Dogmeat who loves you no matter what).
    What Nick says in the Memory Den, sounding like Kellogg, the first time it creeped me the F out! He's a wonderful companion though and has a ton to offer you still. No spoiling 🤐
    As for terminals, Nick can usually get through all terminals Novice-Expert without any problems. I've heard he has a chance at Master level, but personally I have had no luck and perk myself out for this task. With that said I have 2 pieces of advice. #1 If you're down to the last attempt on a terminal and don't want to fail, you can exit the terminal and it will reset. #2 I keep a journal. I have a spiral bound notebook for both Skyrim and Fallout. In regards to Fallout I note locations I come across with safes and terminals I can't access, including the difficulty (i.e. Hardware Town, upstairs office, Master Lock). Then when I have the perk and some free time I don’t have a headache.

      Yeah that dialogue creeped me out as well! I hope that was a one off! 🤣
      That's a good tip regarding making a note of them all, I've not been doing that. I can remember a few master chests I've missed but that's about it

      @@NannyOggins many "super-traders" are bugged. Vault-tec rep and Riley (from meat-packing plant are the most reliable ones.

    Some good progress on the storyline in this one…nice! Sorry you stumbled across the Mechanist questline. Quite a pain to keep stumbling across the roving robot gangs, but they do provide good parts in order to start building your own bots. I have always found that last bit involving Kellogg’s memories disturbing, especially when he speaks out through Nick at the end…💀🫣.
