    Where is the 3x crankshaft position sensor on a 3100? @5:51

    2002 Chevrolet Malibu with 3100...intake manifold gasket leak. Factory defect and not even 70K on it.

      these engines seem to be hit and miss as far as that intake gasket goes. I've worked on a 2005 Buick century for a while with this engine with 240,000kms (160,000mi) that showed no signs that gasket was gonna go. But I've also worked on grand prix's that were shooting twice as much coolant than gasoline into the cylinder with half the mileage on them.

    can someone please show me a vedio on how install the rear speakers plugs on a 1999 Buick skylark, V6, 3100? I'm desperate need it's the only cat my daughter has to get to work and home.

    4:35 made me cringe so bad knowing how these camshaft snap in half because they're hallow. Had that happen to me and replaced it with a solid camshaft. Poor design choice.

    This engine, along with the LG8 and the 3400 LA1, were terrible engines. The LG8 version of this engine was in my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. Only 175hp (160hp in the original L82 version shown in this vid), piston slap, coolant sludge, and blown lower intake manifold gaskets. Only thing it had going for it was its AWESOME sound when you floored it, which made it sound MUCH more powerful than it really was. Thank goodness the car was rear-ended before the engine had a chance to really blow up (it was already spraying coolant through the L.I.M. gasket and had coolant sludge at only 72k miles)

      More like one of the best selling sedan engines. See 3.1 buicks driving about all the time. Really nice simple motors and super easy/ cheap to work on... they just have some gasket issues but if you catch them quick you'll be good.

      @@187onasimp i beat the living hell out of my L82 till I smashed the rear end of of my skylark after some snap oversteer
      I loved that car so much

      @@187onasimp what do you mean catch them? Like change the head gaskets every so often?

    • @MattySlimz
      @MattySlimz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @deepstate8474 no, the INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. I have an Fel-Pro aftermarket on mine, so far so good 50k miles.
