    Laying odds may seem trickier than “taking” odds, but its really not. its just the exact opposite of the pass line/come odds bet. Its important you know the True odds of the numbers 6:5, 3:2, 2:1, when you do, its much easier!
    Short answer = always bet in multiples of $6 on the points 6 and 8 / multiples of $3 on the points 5 and 9 / multiples of $2 on the points of 4 and 10
    What I describe below is for a $5 minimum table, and example I give is for 3,4,5x odds table
    Long answer=
    On the point of 6 or 8, you take odds of $5 to win $6 (6:5), so the opposite would be, lay $6 to win $5 (5:6), so when laying odds, always bet in multiples of $6 on the points 6 and 8. ($6, $12, $18, $24 $30) *note $30 would be the maximum- $30 would win $25 or 5x your $5 don't bet - $6 would be the minimum so that the payout is at least the table minimum of $5
    On the point of 5 or 9, you take odds of $6 to win $9 (3:2), so the opposite would be to lay $9 to win $6(2:3), so when laying odds, always bet in multiples of $3 on the points 5 and 9 ($9, $12, $15, $18, ……up to $30) *note $30 would be the maximum- $30 would win $20 or 4x your $5 don't bet. I would guess most people bet $15 to win $10 or $30 to win $20 just to keep it simple.
    On the point of 4 or 10, you take odds of $5 to win $10 (2:1), so the opposite would be to lay $10 to win $5 (1:2), so when laying odds, always bet in multiples of $2 on the points of 4 and 10 ($10, $12,$14,$16, ……up to $30) *note $30 would be the max- $30 would win $15 or 3x your $5 don't bet
    On a 3,4,5x odds table, maximum lay odds bets are always 6x your flat don’t bet. If you always lay max odds and are at a 3,4,5x table, that makes it super simple, just multiply flat bet by 6.
    Hope this helps some, and stay tuned for a video :)

      Ryan Gonzalez well video is about placing odds, so needs to be even amount on 5/9, so video is right. Pays 3:2 so any number divisible by 2 works and I show closest number to 2x3x4x odds. 6,12,18etc as you mentioned also works and maybe easier to remember.
      In comment I’m talking about laying odds which pays 2:3 so any even amount divisible by 3...6,12,18,24

I made a small $300 bankroll last 12 hours, I went to two casinos and couldnt find a table minimum lower than $15 unfortunately but I made it work by placing the point and pulling when it felt right. I was a slots player before your videos and scared of the tables. I had so much fun last night because I watched these. I made some really smart bets and some really dumb ones just to see.... like $50 on all the hard ways (paid off on hard 10 and hard 4!). I ended up leaving broke lol but it was great and I'm really looking forward to improving and taking a much larger bankroll. Thank you for all the advice!

    Craps is the only game I play and it has to be $5 minimum and at least 20X odds. This narrows it down to almost only Main Station Casino. So far, I am ahead of the house. I limit my losses to $700 and my winnings at $2000 for each Las Vegas visit. It is a game of pure chance, but it offers you almost an even bet with the house.

  • @JoeDoe2

    At 5:50, I don't see $6 in winnings on the pass line. I only see $5. Shouldn't there be a $1 chip on top of the $5 chip? And I don't understand how the house edge is eliminated completely if the house edge only gets reduced, like the frame shows at 2:57. Perhaps I misunderstood and the house edge never gets eliminated completely. I thought the idea was that it was the best bet on the table cause of no house edge. I may be confusing 'true odds' with 'house edge' and don't even realize it. And I'm not used to the word 'odds' as it relates to the amount bet. For example, if I make an odds bet of $6 instead of $5, that's consider 'even odds.' I only see it as an even number dollar amount that's been bet, not taking into consideration any 'odds' that apply to rolling a certain number on the dice. It seems like the word 'odds' is used in more than one context, depending on what's being discussed, either the roll of the dice, or the amount of money that's bet. Is that right?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good questions. at 5:50 the pass line bet is $5 and the odds bet is $25. These are two different distinct bets. The pass line always gets paid at 1:1 so $5 bet wins $5. the odds bet gets paid 6:5 or $6 for every $5 bet, in the example $25 bet gets paid $30. Again knowing they are two distinct bets, the house edge question should be cleared up. The pass line bet has a house edge of 1.4% but the odds bet is 0% and is paid fairly for the chance of rolling the number. The house edge can never be completely eliminated because you always have to pay a percentage to play the pass line, but the more additional money you bet with the additional odds bet at 0%, the overall combined house edge goes down. As far as the term "odds" it is used in different context. The chance or "odds" of rolling a 7 is six times out of every 36 rolls or 1 in 6 chance. This is the odds of rolling a seven. They call the additional bet made behind the pass line an "odds" bet because it pays at the true odds of rolling the number. For instance, there are 6 ways to roll a 7 and 3 ways to roll a 10. So the odds of rolling a 10 vs a 7 is 6 to 3, or reduced is 2 to 1 (2:1) So when you make an "odds" bet on the number 10 you get paid 2:1 or true odds, thus the name "odds" bet. Hope this helps some. I'm trying to learn the payouts for my table I'm setting up at home. In this video I didn't see you explain the payout for the come and the odds on a come bet. There's was a clip of it being paid and looked like 1:1 for the come bet is the odds paid by the number it's on. So if it was a 5 it would pay 3:2. I think that's what it looked like in the video.

      Once the point is established, a DP bets pays even money and the bettor has the advantage. Taking odds lowers the bettors edge

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Laying odds on a DP does not lower the betters edge, it lowers the house edge even more. Laying odds is a statistically fair bet with zero house edge. The don’t pass has a 1.36% edge, so as you lay more odds the combined house edge average decreases. It does not increase.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, I would like to thank you for your willingness to comment and have/add to the discussions here on ColorUp, I really appreciate your involvement, and you watching.
      You were correct and I was incorrect to say “laying odds does not lower the betters edge” yes, technically the player edge as a percentage, drops by making the odds bet. Maybe you do lay odds, and you were just making a correct point that the betters edge technically lowers, you haven't said yet.
      What I was disagreeing with is the implication that laying odds after the DP is a bad idea or bad bet.
      There is a reason you have to lay 2:1 on the (4/10) and that’s because you are twice as likely to win. The fact is, the casino pays this bet fairly thus the 0% casino edge and the combined casino edge over the player is lowered. If you could some how skip the DP, and only lay odds, that would be a perfect situation.
      Once you have made it past the come out roll, you have already paid the casinos price of admission to play (casino edge), the additional odds bet is at 0% cost. So while yes, laying odds does not improve your chance of winning ("the betters edge" ) you get to add more to your bet at no additional expense.
      If you don't lay odds, I would love to play with you, you take the risk on the DP bet, after safely past come out, I would gladly lay the odds on your bet and make bets at 0% casino edge.
      I like what the Wizard of Odds, Mike Shackelford says about it,
      “It only makes sense for the player to make the bet with the lowest house edge. Refusing the odds in craps to bet on something else instead is like refusing a free coffee refill in a restaurant and instead buying another cup.”

  • @jackknechtl2651
    @jackknechtl2651 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    With come bet odds, does the odds you make depend on the point established or the number your come bet moves to
    For example, the puck is on 4, you place a come bet and that moves to the six. Can I now make an odds bet of ×5 (as that is what the 6 is most commonly allowed) or only ×3 as the puck is on 4 (and that is what the 4 is allowed)

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have it correct. It depends on the number the come bet moves to. But, it also depends on the table rules. Most commonly you may see a table that is 3x4x5x odds meaning a max of 3x on the 4/10 and 5x on 6/8. Many tables are different though, allowing 5x on any number, or 10x or maybe just 2x. Each table is different but is clearly marked.

Because 6 and 8 there is 5 ways you can roll those numbers vs 4 or 10 only 3 ways to roll those numbers.

    Wouldn't 2x the odds on the five and nine point numbers be be $12 cuz 1x odds is $6 ? Why couldn't you bet $8 on the 5 and 9 for a 2x odds bet. That comes out to a whole number with no change. Seems too simple am I right?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the 5 and 9 get paid 3:2 so any multiple of $2 will work, you just want it to be Even amount. 1x odds is $5, but need to add extra dollar to make even, thus the $6. 2x odds would be $10. and the 3:2 payoff would be $15. you certainly good do $8 or $12, but $12 payoff would be $18, just not as clean as it would be 3 red chips and 3 white chips vs just 3 red chips on the $15 payoff and is just easier for the dealer. But it doesn't really matter. Any multiple of $2 will work.

    So what you are telling me is that I’m not allowed to take $9 odds on the 4/10

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No? You can put any amount of odds on 4/10. It pays 2:1 or double what you bet.

      Travi M Lol Travi !!! At least I am not the only one, you really need to know this stuff well ! It's a very fast game at the casino, if you don't know this stuff well, your in trouble ! I actually had a guy next to me one night, correct the dealer on my bet ! I was shorted and didn't even know ! Good luck my friend ! 😁🖒

    This is probably the dumbest question of the week? But why is there a come box? U don’t win on it and it just places your $ on a roll out number? Wouldn’t it be quicker to place the money yourself? I really don’t get it! 🤯

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No questions are dumb. It does win, 7-11, it works exactly like the pass line but in the middle of the game.

    They're "free" if your neighbor lets you place them behind his bet.

    • @ColorUp

      I’ve seen the casino not allow that, but yes, the perfect way to play the game, odds behind someone else bet

  • @GaMeAh0LiC
    @GaMeAh0LiC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You didn't explain how you win the bet lol. You just explained payouts if you win, but not the win condition

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Huh. Well you win bet by rolling the point number that your pass line or come bet is on.

    • @GaMeAh0LiC
      @GaMeAh0LiC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ColorUp thanks! What's the difference between this bet and just betting on the number that was rolled? Ie. If a 4 was rolled and opened up the table, what's the difference between betting on 4 or this bet behind the line?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GaMeAh0LiC no difference, it’s just an additional bet on the number. The advantage is it pays fair true odds. No other casino bet pays fair true odds, every other bet in casino, they keep a small percentage back

    • @ColorUp

      You add even amount of odds on numbers that end with E - five and nine. Or “even odds on the odd numbers”
