I’ve got a hairline like his although my hair is a lot thicker, it’s been like this since I was 17 and I’m 25, was on medications after I arrived at university at 19 but by the time I was 21 I completely stoped (not because of sides) I restarted again at 24 because I was considering a transplant to fill the front but am still at a point where is have bigger priorities such as saving for a house deposit, I decided just to stick with treatments this time because I want to maintain what I have. I’ll maybe fill in the sides at a later date or maybe not I’ll see how I feel about it! As someone who is older and gone through it my only advice is that once you have the surgery and it grows in Please stay on medication. You will after a year see great results and might relax your medication my advice is stay on them because if you don't you will loose that look it happens slowly but by the time you notice the damage has been done...Your own the right path stay on meds and if you do decide to have surgery as least it won't be for a lot of $$$

To be completely honest, my hair is in a similar state to this gentleman who got the hair transplant and I am on medical therapy for about 10 months now. I do very much look forward to getting a hair transplant too strengthen the hairline in a couple years
I’d love if you did a competition. Ive seen this video in the past and hoped you would be interested in doing something similar. I’m not sure if I’d be the best candidate but I’ve always appreciated your honesty. Regardless, I’d love to apply if you end up having a competition.
Hello Dr Linkov, can you please make a video about the marketing and selling of the non-fda approved topical solution of finisteride and minoxidil that companies are selling such as hims
I would love to see one of these review videos evaluating hair transplants for females! it just seems like not many people think women have insecurities about their hairlines and/or they areen't getting these procedures done. I have been wanting to get a hair transplant consult for a long time and would love some insight on it!
A question for Dr. Linkov: Thank you for these informative videos. You mention often how medical therapy is important to keep the original hairs that are in the vicinity of the transplanted hairs so they don’t later fall out, leaving only transplanted hairs, which isn’t a great look. I’m getting ready for a transplant and asked the clinic about this, also expressing my concerns that I’ve tried Minoxidil in the past and didn’t have any success with it. They told me that I shouldn’t worry about my original hairs later falling out because when they do the transplant, they treat my scalp as if I have no hair at all. I would be very happy to hear your impressions of their response and that approach to a transplant.
I saw a dermatologist and he said I shouldn't go on propecia bc I was too young and it wasn't drastic enough. But why should I wait till I've lost a considerable amount of hair??
cause you don't want to have a hair transplant then recede around the non transplanted area. That's why you need your hairline to be "mature" before getting a HT
Dr Gary is it possible to use nape hair (hair closet to back neck) as a donor area instead of the mid back of the head? Cause I know people who have a lot of hair and a taper on the back and would rather have that donor since it’s more convenient
What do you mean by medical therapy Dr? I'm new to the channel, can you direct me to a vid i'm assuming you did talking about the best medical therapy or something?
Depends on the doc and location. The ones in california seem like they are higher tier. And many bosley docs are in recognized by hair association, awards etc. thing is you need to dig deep and look for clues. You need to read past complaints because all top clinics get slammed by angry people who had bad genetics and habits and thus poor recovery. I would be weary of the smaller market docs (even bosley in smaller cities?). And just maybe fly to the best doc you can. Dr Gary did a review of a bosley procedure in bev hills and seemed to generally comment that protocols were normal like his own. Within reason of things he didnt make sound major.
First of all thank you for all your Videos, I appreciate them very much! And I know this is an older Video but its your most recent hair transplant review. So I thought I would ask two questions here that might interest more people: What do you think about Sauna ~ 14 days after hair transplant or later? And do you think it is as beneficial as it is for the rest of the body or does it put stress on the skin and the follicles? Also do you think using aloe vera gel or specifiy scar creams for the donor area and maybe even for the recipient area might be beneficial, maybe even massages for the donor area? Hope you see this and thanks in advance for an answer :) Also as a suggestion: Why not make a FAQ Video or put a FAQ on your Website for everyone interested?
Hello Dr Gary, just discovered your channel and it has some great info as I'm looking at getting a transplant. From consults I've had they've said I'll need two transplants. What is a realistic amount of grafts I can expect from the second session compared to the first?
Great video as usual Dr Gary. One thing I always notice about the hairline of people that have had a hair transplant is the density is not as thick as the hair behind it, and so it is obvious to me and I guess many others that a transplant has been had. How many more transplant procedures would it take to fix that, so that the density is as thick as the hair of a person that hasn't had a transplant and isn't receding?
@@drgarylinkov Thanks for the quick reply. So, 3 hair transplants in total? And after those, would it be almost impossible to spot if the person has had a hair transplant? I'm looking to fix my hairline and this is my main concern, that it would be easy for people to detect I've had one done/not fully matching the rest of the hair behind it.
