- The excitement builds in Episode 4 of our Goodwood Revival: The Golden Era of Racing series as James Cottingham sets out to quality for the Sussex Cup Race on Sunday! We see the full glory of the Goodwood Revival as these incredible and iconic vintage cars set out to perform as they were originally intended: on the race track!
Kirby speaks with James before he sets out to quality in his 1960's Tojero. In addition, Kirby has the opportunity to speak with Harry Newey, son of legendary Red Bull Formula 1 Designer Adrian Newey, and 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jensen Button.

About This Series
For years now, I have been exploring the world of quality, craftsmanship, and tradition. This journey has taken me from some of the world's most highly regarded bespoke tailoring houses, all the way to a proper shooting estate in Scotland.
I have come to believe that nobody does tradition better than the British! From dressing in the proper attire for a given occasion, through to the liturgy of the ceremonial; there is almost always an etiquette routed in tradition at its core.
In this series we explore what could arguably be one of the most exciting of the British traditions: racing. I’ve been invited by my good friend James Cottingham, to join him as he prepares to race in the Goodwood Revival, the country’s most important vintage car racing event.
So, strap yourselves in and enjoy as we explore Britain’s golden era of racing!

James is such an accomplished driver, he is so polished in front of the camera but, my god, that look of focus as he put his helmet on.
I subscribed for the shoes, suits and cigars. Classic cars is an added reason.
You and Simon need to do a separate show together. He’s great on camera and his deep sartorial knowledge is something special.
Bravo. My Old Man enjoyed telling me stories about seeing Fangio and Stirling Moss driving London streets in the 1950s. Even claimed to ‘Burn Off’ a blasé Moss at the lights with a mate! lol
Really enjoyed the brief chat with Jensen. He’s one of the more charismatic guys from F1 and his recent stints doing race commentary have been very good. I think he gives the driver’s perspective in a way laypersons can understand.

I can not thank you enough for another great film series!
You and your amazing team doing a marvellous and very important work!
But I am asking myself a question: where’s all arabian, african and asian people?
Why I don’t see them in the crowd of well-dressed and well-mannered ladies and gentlemen?
Living for many years in the homeland of Lord Byron and Sir Edward Elgar, why don’t they feel any enthusiasm towards the rich and beautiful culture of Great Britain?
(Yes, there’re exceptions but, as known, they are only prove the rule).
Fair question, but if certain groups don’t choose to attend certain events then it’s not anyone’s job to force them. Apparently only 2% of people visiting our national trust properties are black, they are not in any way discouraged and certainly most welcome but if they don’t want to come it’s up to them. I would point out the now greatest F1 driver of all time is black and British a fact we are very proud of and speaks for the equality of opportunity in British society.
Those people are watching basketball or at rap concerts, they enjoy different things and that's their choice which is fine by me.
@@nickpage2949 How about the Asian and Arabic people (the poster DID address those 2 races in addition to African). Last I checked, collectively , those 3 groups comprise more than 1/10th of Britain’s total population.

I feel like Goodwood would be ruined by aero cars. You could probably go flat out around most corners, barely lifting or changing gear. The chicane is probably the only concession to needing to slow down high speed cars.
