I have the 10mm version. Handled the hottest 10mm loads (Grizzly, Underwood, and my Nuclear Hand loads), with zero issues. Recoil and muzzle flip are far less than my Sig P320 X-Ten. In fact I’ll be unloading the Sig. Tripp Research 9rd mags caused malfunctions but the factory 9rd and 8rd Delta Elite mags functioned flawlessly

Any recommendation on a slim grip that uses the original screws?

Haven’t messed with the grip to be honest. But I believe alot of them are interchangeable as along as it’s a full grip panel
