      I read another comment that called out your support of Humble Marksman. You have earned a reputation as a completely honest, unbiased and open-minded reviewer. David at HM has proven to be an immature and untrustworthy "reviewer." I too saw him flag someone in one of his videos at Shotshow. Rather than simply admit a mistake, he initially lied about it, then made absurd excuses for it, than actually attacked those who called him out. Keep in mind that his lying, excusing, and attacking was not shown on his channel because he deletes every negative comment. There is a site that reprints comments that are deleted. Again, aligning yourself with someone like that hypocrite reflects on you.

    I had a good experience testing this gun. It did what I have come to call, 'That TISAS thing.' Everything in the gun is fine, nothing exceptional. Until you shoot it, and then the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. Your test regime is much more thorough than mine of course and I am looking forward to seeing it.

    Great video GB. Always glad to see Tisas reviews. They're doing a great job making quality guns at a price point that's doable for the working man.

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The deal is, when you say that it's "doable for the working man" because it's a few hundred cheaper, you're basically saying "be cheap and don't waste money on training either."
      Sorry, I've taught and been to enough classes and trainings where these "doable" guns just don't hold up. Plus, frankly, the guys owning Tisas, Bersas, Girsans, etc. generally just aren't committed either.
      The price difference between this and a Bul Armory is much less than what I spend every month for ammo. By far.
      I'm sorry, I'm a working man. I insist on good tools. If you want to save money, buy cheaper beer.

    • @EveryoneIsFightingSomeBattle
      @EveryoneIsFightingSomeBattle 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@JD-tn5lz Fair points. However at the end of the day, price is going to determine for many whether or not a family has a firearm in their home ready to protect them, or not have one and be potential victims. Someone who's having to live on a tight budget is going to be able justify - and have the means to buy a $300 to $400 Tisas 1911 for example, long before ever being at a place financially to buy a $700 to $800 or higher firearm. When you said "If you want to save money, buy cheaper beer" - if someone has to make sacrifices like going without things they enjoy for a period of time (taking the family to movies, going out to eat, etc. for a period of time) just to buy a gun, then many are simply not going to buy one. I would rather have a bunch of family houses with lower price point (but still good quality) guns in them, and folks that are just good enough to shoot an intruder with them from 10 to 20 feet away, then a bunch of houses with no guns at all to protect their families.

    That's a good-looking gun. I'm married to my carry rotation, so i might pick one up just to shoot and let everyone play with. They are very affordable. Great break down and talking points as always.

    This pistol is on my radar for my next purchase. I have watched several reviews now and almost every one has had nothing but positive things to say about how it functions and the value that this is for an entry or EDC option into the 2011/1911DS 9mm segment. Sure it uses 70s 1911 architecture for the upper assembly but it has served shooters reliably for over 100 years so it isn't like it is a major drawback. If having a bushingless system with a bull barrel is an absolute necessity you can cough up an extra 350 bucks and buy the MAC 9 DS which is virtually the same gun as it is manufactured by Tisas for MAC but has a more modern upper and different iron sights. I have handled the Tisas that you showed here at my local shop and for the asking price you simply cannot do better IMO. I cannot wait to get mine and hit the range. It has been quite some time since I sold my Springfield GI model and truthfully it is the firearm I miss most. I originally had my sights set on the Bul Armory SAS TAC 4.25 but the Tisas comes in almost 9 Benjamin's cheaper.
    I know that you reviewed the Bul Armory SAS TAC some time ago and would be interested in knowing whether you feel that the Bul is that much better than the Tisas. I may hold out for the MAC which is more comparable to the Bul yet still comes in nearly 6 Benjamin's cheaper. I trust your opinions and really look forward to your assessment.

    I have only owned one Tisas, a mid-size 1911 in 45 ACP and that was one to many. It looked great, but was a piece of junk, it never ran reliably and was in the process of slowly shooting itself apart (think hand grenade). This is my only experience with this manufacturer, and I will never waste my money on then again. Just my experience, the experience of others may be different.

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Your experience is different than most owners because you probably actually shoot yours, unlike most owners.
      If you ever do a complete takedown of a Tisas and compare it to Colt, Bul, or DW you'll see why the price difference.

    • @GunsandGearNetwork

    I have to say I really appreciate the standard 1911 recoil spring. I had a Staccato, and yeah they're nice, but I can't stand that dumb recoil spring system. It's totally unnecessary.

  • @JD-tn5lz
    @JD-tn5lz 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It is a good thing that there is renewed interest in the 1911 system sidearms.
    However, it is pathetic that it's being done by budget manufacturers like Girsan and Tisas.
    I would say "you'll spend more on ammunition in six months than you do on buying a quality firearm" but we all know that most budget shoppers don't buy guns to actually train with.
    So, 2011s? Sure, nice fun guns when reliable.
    However, I'd rather have an affordable Magnum Research (made by Bul) 1911 than a budget 2011 made to varying standards by a variety of manufacturers.

    GB...you are awesome, and more important, completely trustworthy. . However, I saw your comment on Humble Marksman, and promoting a thin-skinned hypocrite like HM is misplaced. He had a video from Shotshow where he flagged someone in the face at a distance of about 2 feet. Mistakes happen....although that is one that never should, but no one is perfect. When called out, HM at first blatantly lied about it, despite it being clear as day on his video. When he realized lying wasn't a good plan, he tried to make excuses for it. When that didn't work either, he went after those who called him out and like an immature brat, called them names.....then banned those commenters from leaving comments. Truly pathetic.

      I have a Para expert that shots great. Better than my colt or Springfield. Probably half the price as well and It eats everything factory and all my reloads. Nothing wrong with less expensive if it runs and performs good. I've seen plenty of Staccato's choke in competitions over and over again. And that is their factory teams videos. Just because you spend $2000+ on a pistol doesn't mean it will outperform a less expensive pistol. Look at all the suckers that bought Kimbers. I have several friends that have nothing but problems with their Kimbers. All over a $1000 my rock islands at $500 outperforms thier Kimbers anyday of the week. If you are buying the pistol on looks then yes, the Staccato looks very nice. That is part of buying a gun and being able to show off to people you have a fancy expensive toy is part of it for many people. I personally feel once you go over $1000 on most pistol you are just buying the name and bragging rights. There are to many guns on the market under that price that are very reliable and accurate.
