Looks like a very good value. Looking forward to seeing how this one shoots. I like to remove the factory oil from guns prior to firing them. I'm sure a few boxes of ammo through a gun with the factory oil in them is fine BUT not all gun manufacturers use oil the same way on new guns. Many times the oil we see on new guns is there specifically to keep parts from rusting/oxidizing and not for proper lubrication. I find this especially true on guns shipped overseas as they may be in storage and on the water for months before we purchase them. On brand new gun I've found all sorts of odd smelling, odd colored oils sometimes combined with fine metal chips & grit from manufacturing. While it may be going overboard I field strip new guns, clean them and then oil (and grease where applicable) them properly prior to shooting them.
That's the way to do it. We run guns out of the box simply to replicate the worst-case consumer experience. If while shooting we notice that a sluggish action is to blame for problems we'll stop, explain, and properly lubricate.

To point, I came across a Tisas A1 that had the full boat customizing performed for the low price of $1800. Personally don't know if that was worth it or not. This model screams for a mill job for a red dot. I know every manufacturer does things to distinguish their offerings. What is up with slide lightening cuts? Do they really serve a purpose? The cool kids i guess would do press checks. You pointed out the weight difference as not significant. Have you found any information on the grade of Steel in this non MIM parts example? One would assume some sort of Carbon and assume no way on a Stainless variant. Cerakote will wear in or can be massaged to desired slickness. The thing on this model, is the front strap checkering offered at this price point. Money well spent or Bubba Smithing would make that trigger much better. A trigger job and Red Dot might break the barrier for a sub $1k 1911. I've seen this model below the $600 dollar mark on sale.
