Amazing how similar the gel results were. I was thinking the 5.7 would go deeper.. That's what I love about your video's, definitely eye opening and informative! Thanks brother 🤠👍
Thanks Ron! Yah I didn’t see any difference in the end result of the gel but the temporary cavity seemed much bigger. But I’ve got a few different rounds coming up that I think do much better.
Thank you for the series. Keeping the firearms consistent provides a real basis for comparison of the different rounds in the series. Elite appears to have consistency in its loading so we don't see a big FPS spread...which is nice.
Yes very true. They generally have a good track record. I did get two boxes of this ammo once and it popped primers and jammed up my rock. Jay sent me two new boxes and these have been great. The complaint has been he advertised this at about 200 fps more than Im getting here. Still better than most big name manufacturers though.
The only 5.7 i own is the PSA Rock with the threaded barrel. I love shooting the 5.7, its just fun to shoot. I wouldn't pick it for self defense, but if its all i had, I'd rather have it than nothing. Another great test, informative and very entertaining as usual. Hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend. Looking forward to your next video and live chat.
thanks Joe! I agree, it's not a round I will likely choose though I admit I've been tempted by it as part of a "get home" system. Pistol and carbine together with a bunch of ammo is light weight, easy to hide, and packs enough punch when I'm trying to avoid and get home after some sort of disaster (I work downtown in a major city). But...that's not what I have today. CZ P-10c and the PSA Jackl in 300 blk are the systems ready to go for that scenario.
I think I have some, I did a video shooting them at 100 yards with this gun, just not a gel test. I have some TB6 rounds from Elite coming up in a couple of weeks!
Thanks for bringing back the pistols, for the more direct reminder. Lol, I was waiting in the truck, before heading down to a little duck pond, nothing flying, I suppose I should put the phone down, lol, but hey.
Thanks Rich, that's very kind of you. Yah, but I guess two "head over heal" twists in the gel for 300 ft-lbs is probably about it for it. Which is actually very damaging. Also interesting was that the bullet tumbled twice in all three shots.
Thanks TTO! These rounds from Elite Ammo are what a 5.7 should be. Most factory ammo, like in so many other calibers, just aren’t there. That Tisas looks great! If I didn’t already have 3 5.7 pistols already…🤣🤷♂️
Excellent video! If you need penetration you just pull out your 10mm. ;) I do not trust much of what the FBI says or does. I do not know that "penetration" is the benchmark we should be aiming for but it is always nice component of the overall picture IMO. Unless you keep your heart 11 inches behind your ribs lol. I saw a round that did exactly what I wanted it to do. It came in, blew up, and shifted trajectory. With +7s, I have 31 on board and 90 more on deck. I have rifle ballistics with suppressing fire capability in a handgun. There are serious tactical advantages present if you ask me. The world today is not the world tomorrow. We prepare not for yesterday but for tomorrow. Stay cool frens. It's going to get spicy.
That’s the part I struggle with. I have no idea what the exact correlation of gel to tissue is. And this is not FBI organic gel, so a simulation of a simulation. I’ve heard some say it’s 1:2. For every 2” of gel it’s like 1” of hydrated tissue and bone. So that’s why I worry about penetration but that could be entirely BS too. I do worry about deviation but I agree, the point with 5.7 is capacity, and ability to put a LOT of hate on the intended target quickly. Hard to argue if you got hit with 3-4 of these you’d be down hard. Yah I worry about what’s coming. The combo of carrying the pistol and rifle together is pretty competing in 5.7 for mag cross compatibility. Stay safe my friend!!
@@triggerbarPhD There has also been a video or two, where mundane 5.7 FMJ out of a pistol, pokes through ballistic cloth. Maybe, that's enough to change the mind of abad guy with a more planned and specific intention.
5.7 is meant to tumble so it won't penetrate on gel, those cavity wounds are real tho. For my house I rather 9mm but this is an acceptable round out of that PCC
Thanks JASC! Yah the more I’m learning this is a good thing. Also, the good thing about this round is it tumbled twice in all three tests. One issue with tumbling is can you rely on it. This is a good sign.
Just like I saw with what I bought in 2022 - those pistol velocities are no different than SS198. I had 2250 fps with the Ruger (as did others in comments). Website still says: FPS: Pistol - 2,500 P90 - 3,100 PS90 - 3,400 3400 fps from the 16" barrel? is laughable. I got ~2775. So, only 625 fps shy of what is advertised. 250 fps weak from pistol. But it's not like ss198 is ~1/3 of the price...oh, wait. It is.
Fair point Shasta. The other issue was that when I had 2600 fps from the pistol is blew primers and locked up my Rock and had to be sent to PSA for a repair.

Same testing with blackfang pplleeaassee👀💪🏼 such a great video, thanks for the info!

Hahahaha. Yah man, duck hunting is more important!!! 😂🤣
This was another great video, you are putting out such awesome content and this channel is going to get big
Thanks so much Chris, that's a tremendous complement from you and the quality of content you put out! I appreciate your support!
Love the testing. 2600 fps out of the carbine is pretty cool.
Very good results there.
Interesting video. A little surprised at the penetration. You did a good through job as always.

Very interesting. 🤔 Such an odd little round. It's definitely a deviant in that Gel 🤣
I'm controlling my urge to try a Tisas 5.7😶
Thanks TBP! 👊👍👍👍

good information i enjoy the 57 ammo wish it was cheaper. thanks for the information.
Absolutely. Wish it was much cheaper, er rather I wish the good stuff was cheaper. I like the Fiocchi FMJ for 0.43/round. not too bad.
#5.7gang
Right on Brother!!
Perhaps I will have enough coverage to listen as I head to deer camp in the morning.👊
Good luck Brother!!! Thanks for leaving a comment but we need you focused on that deer!!!😂🤣

The FBI never gives anyone their true results.

Yeah, plenty accurate for sure. Looks to me like your pistol shooting is getting on point.
Thanks my friend! I keep trying to improve!!
Good test, Trigger-Bar. 🫡👍👍👍
Thanks Grey Shooter!! I appreciate it!!
