From all the reading I've been doing about ballistics and wounding, I read about a guy who took 40 shots of 9mm/45 and 3 rounds of shotgun slugs before he went down. The only reason he went down and stopped fighting the police was one of the slugs hit his spine and shut his system down. There is a reason that shot placement is #1, bullet construction #2, if you can't place accurate shots that get deep enough you won't shut someone down. 5.7x28, with especially this round, will allow you to get a ton of shots very accurately on target in a short amount of time. Yah, I agree! hahaha
Your timing is insane. I've been looking at 5.7 (and this specific cartridge) real closely over the past couple days. Do you happen to know the Ballistic Coefficient for this round?
I don’t know the answer to that but here is the the link (I’m not affiliated or trying to sell this): eliteammunition.com/T6B-Limited-3-Box-Limit-p275587071/T6B-Limited-5-Box-Limit-p275587071 Jay is pretty active on YT and I’d imagine he’d answer that if he knows it. Glad it might help!!
5.7x28 really seems to be velocity dependent on performance. Not surprising though considering it was meant for the PS90. I would like to see ammo specifically made for pistols.
That’s what those of us who have hope in this ammo believe and hope. 2300 fps is doable and should be the standard for handguns. Shasta Bean on here does hand loads in this range and with the right bullets has amazing results. Why can’t the big time manufacturers do that? Why do they have to be 500 fps lower?
@ I think the manufacturers were waiting to see the popularity before investing in R&D for better ammo. Well, if you make better ammo you get more popularity. Weird.
@thePrussian 😂🤣. Yah exactly. Also, FN did have a stranglehold on it and made everyone license their case. Now more people are making guns and finally some people are making their own cases. Hornady came out with their case design and AAC had their own. So I’m hoping with that change we start seeing it. It could be that FN had a patent or something that prevented other companies. I’ve also been suspicious because it was FN they didn’t want to put out armor piercing rounds. I’ve wondered if they have suppressed the rounds…
Yah odd. Not sure if it’s my gel or the light or what. To me this still does a ton of damage. There is a pretty big explosion at 3-5” that would be hard to recover from then the separate tracks that go deep. But it’s not like it’s 10mm though.
That is a very little NASTY round Sir. Geez it looks UGLY, but very deadly! Thanks for sharing Captain. Thanks for all you do and please let's keep our 2nd Amendment Rights ALIVE!!!
Does neat stuff in your get, but oops, hung up in the Ruger. From my side of the tracks lol, i don't know if my wallet would agree to much practice, to make sure it's reliable.
Yah, having to shoot a whole bunch more of this to “test it out” would be painful. I did a good thorough cleaning after this. I do want to shoot the Hornady black more and see what was going on. Some have suggested my suppressors so that’s worth a try too.

Ah that’s a good catch on the weight. In my experience these are not terribly accurate. Just sent the raw video to you. It’s possible but I didn’t see when I walked up and looked. But you have what I can remember now. I think I have another box so I can test. I’ve also cleaned the gun and I plan to test with and without the suppressor. So I’ll see. Thanks for the good info Shasta.
@@triggerbarPhD Yeah I got that, but that video can't see the detail I'm talking about...it'd have to be the physical paper targets and maybe even pull a bullet and push it through - that's how I could tell there's no way it was stable. Can see some of the holes are perfect circles. But sometimes the paper coating on shoot-n-see doesn't exactly come off like the hole actually is. But when the hole isn't round, that's the bullet not making it round - because it's yawed. And the one shot in my video is super obvious. The others are more like yours, with a 3" change in POI, and the hole shows the tip isn't aligned with the base.
@@triggerbarPhD I save all of my targets, with dates & marked-up...I've had dozens of instances of wanting to see something again; after the fact...Even considered it last night, with my T6B shoots, but I could see it in the 2 videos. Oh - and if you have a round - I'm curious if you pull one, and weigh the powder...how much the load is reduced. Nothing needed. Just curious how much.
That’s a wicked looking round 🤠
Indeed kind sir!!
Outstanding results! Terrific cartridge my friend. 🤠👍
Thanks my friend! It’s a terrific round!!
Another great review Trigger Bar, have an awesome weekend
Thanks Chris!
Imagine catching 31 of these in the chest in under 7 seconds. That would suck.

@@triggerbarPhDI'm not saying it was a zombie. But. It was a zombie. Also. The movie They Live would be a fun live stream topic.
It looks to me that the extra barrel length is what it was designed for. Great video!
Thanks Steve, yah for this cartridge it often really matters!
great round!!
I agree!!
TFBtv had a similar problem when using a suppressor on different 5.7 rounds. Without the Suppressor it ran flawlessly.
Yah I need to rerun some of these tests with out the can.

Definitely fast but, I think the 40gr stuff is always gonna be more reliable and accurate.
I have no issues with the FN 27 grain stuff. Maybe it’s my can too.
weird, this used to leave a much bigger/devastating wound channel.
